The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
With Husband 647
Chapter 647
That single word "wait" made Dominic and Evelyn jump in surprise.
Dominic asked nervously, "What can I do for you, Mr. Zeller?"
"I heard you have a multi-billion-dollar deal with the Sullivan family?" Felix's question made Dominic relax slightly, as he had expected something worse. "Yes, that's correct. What about it, Mr. Zeller?"
Felix gestured casually before saying, "Work out the details with Uncle Shaun moving forward. If he wants to do it, great. If not, forget I mentioned it."
"Of course, Mr. Zeller. I'll personally visit Mr. Shaun tomorrow," Dominic replied eagerly.
The old saying about one person's success lifting up everyone around them could not have been more true. In the past, Dominic would not have given anyone in the Sullivan family the time of day. While the Sullivans had had a slight chance at this billion-dollar deal before, it had been a long shot at best. Now, everything had changed.
After they left, Felix smiled and said, "Aunt Yvette, Uncle Shaun, let's head back in."
Though Shaun had so many things he wanted to say, he knew now was not the time. He ushered Yvette inside without sparing another glance at Nathaniel.
The moment the door closed, Nathaniel slapped both Margaret and Ronald across the face. He shouted, "You idiots have ruined everything!"
Ronald held his cheek, feeling utterly wronged. After all, there was no way anyone could have known about Felix's actual status.
However, as Ronald recalled Felix's behavior at the scarf boutique, he realized Felix had not been unreasonable at all. He actually had the power to back it up.
"Get back home with me now before Felix decides to deal with you properly!" Nathaniel commanded.
Inside the house, Yvette's emotions were too jumbled up to think about cooking.
Felix said, "Aunt Yvette, I didn't mean to keep secrets. Seeing you living well now puts my mind at ease.
Yvette gave a bitter laugh and said, "Your achievements have far surpassed your father's now. That was Dominic-someone everyone in Aleshire looks up to. I still can't quite believe it." Shaun patted Yvette's back, accepting the situation more readily given his easygoing

nature. "Come on. Let's make dinner. It's a good thing Felix is doing well, and we're benefiting from it, too."
Having come to terms with everything, Yvette wiped away her tears of joy and headed to the kitchen.
Shaun added warmly, "Felix, you don't need to explain anything. Whatever you've become, as long as you consider us family, you're our nephew-nothing else matters.
"Let's have a drink later, and first, I want to thank you for letting Ronald and Margaret off easy."
Shaun was perceptive enough to know that Felix had held back because of them.
"You're too kind, Uncle Shaun. As long as Aunt Yvette isn't mistreated, everything else can be worked out," Felix replied.
Later that night, Felix returned to Canraville. Instead of going home, he went straight to Xena's place without buying the scarf since Yvette had given him an expensive new one from her collection. "Is Mr. Summers Senior not home?" he asked upon arrival.
Xena nodded. "Yes. He's at Mr. Meyer Senior's place and won't be back tonight."
Felix teased, "Oh? Inviting me over when you're home alone-do you have something in mind?"
To his surprise, Xena nodded seriously. "Yes. We're dating now, and I'm not old-fashioned about saving our first night until our marriage."
She glanced down at the scarf Felix had given her. "The scarf is beautiful. I love it."
When she looked up again, Felix had moved close to her. He whispered, "I don't know how you feel about me, but I want you so badly right now." Without waiting for her response, he picked her up and carried her upstairs.
Xena did not resist, her face showing a rare glimpse of feminine shyness.
