If Felix wanted to have regular interactions with Willow, he first needed a job. Maintaining his usual air of mystery would only create distance.

After consideration, he decided that continuing his career as a doctor made the most sense. It was the fastest way to connect with people. After all, everyorie would get sick sometimes.

"There's a traditional medicine clinic for rent just a block away. But you should see it yourself first." Nelly's efficiency was impressive. After all, she was familiar with the industry. "Thanks again. Just call me Felix."

Nelly's colleagues had been right when they said she was a reserved woman. She had not been putting on an act when she always maintained professional distance with wealthy clients.

Her different approach with Felix stemmed from her intuition. His eyes were always filled with sincerity whenever he looked at her.

The clinic was about 800 square feet. Though it was not big, it was sufficient for use. It had thrived under the previous owner's grandfather. But business declined after his passing, which forced them to rent it out. The paperwork went smoothly. Felix watched the cleaners work as he stood at the entrance.

"Felix, I'm surprised someone so young like you practices traditional medicine." Nelly's praise was sincere. Unlike modern medicine, traditional medicine required either exceptional talent or years of experience. "Why? Do you want me to check on you?"

"No, no. I'm healthy!" Feeling awkward, Nelly quickly changed topics. "When will you handle the licensing? And when's the opening?

Felix smiled. "It's opening tomorrow morning I'll get some more supplies today. You don't have to worry about the paperwork anymore."

He had already called Xander. Someone would deliver the licenses soon. It was not that hard to deal with, so there was no reason to handle the process himself. Actually, he did not even have a medical license, let alone all the other requirements. "I'll send flowers for the opening." Nelly wanted to help Felix feel welcome as a newcomer. An empty opening would look bad.

Felix did not turn her down. He was just going through the motions, so it didn't matter if anyone would come for the opening. He just needed the clinic and a job.

He spent the afternoon stocking medicines and equipment. The clinic had to look legitimate. He planned to focus on prescribing medicine rather than quick acupuncture fixes, or it would risk becoming too well-known. It would then defeat his purpose and make it impossible to stay in Gray City.

As he closed the clinic, he was planning to grab a quick dinner before heading home. Then, his phone rang.

He stared at the caller ID in disbelief. "Xena's calling me?"
