"You must be quite famous to scare this kid just by showing up," Felix joked.

Kurt remained respectful, remembering Clement's warning that if Felix were dissatisfied, Kurt's position would be forfeit. His status in Gray City might be impressive, but compared to Clement, he was nothing. "Since he's troubled you, Mr. Zeller, I'll take him away and handle it to your satisfaction," Kurt offered.

Huxley was terrified but knew he had to beg for mercy-if Felix spoke about this incident, the consequences would be devastating. Everyone knew those who crossed Kurt met terrible fates, often along with their families. "Please, no!" Huxley sobbed, but Felix waved dismissively.

"Get out of here, and don't let this happen again," Felix said, having no interest in wasting time on such trivial matters.

"You heard Mr. Zeller," Kurt prompted.

Huxley scrambled away, vowing never to harass anyone again, no matter how ordinary they seemed.

After George and Kurt left 30 minutes later, Felix finally had some peace. Though he had not seen any patients yet, the experience reminded him of his time in Eden Village, and he missed the company of his senior apprentices. "Well, well, it really is you," Melissa said, walking in and making herself comfortable across from Felix.

"Aren't you usually moving from place to place?" Felix asked, knowing it must be a coincidence since Melissa's tracking skills were not good enough to follow him undetected.

"Why would I move around when you've marked me? By the way, are you hiring? Count me

in!

Felix agreed readily. "Fine, 5000 dollars a month if you want the job."

Melissa extended her hand without hesitation. "Deal!" She had decided to follow her master's advice-having Felix as a backup would not hurt.

"Alright. I'm heading out for a while and return to start my shift," Melissa added.

Felix simply nodded.

Some time after Melissa left to prepare for work, a man in his 30s walked in with an awkward, crab-like gait.

"What's wrong?" Felix asked, noticing the man seemed otherwise healthy.

After checking that no one else was around, the man whispered, "I think my stitches came loose... Can you help?"

Felix was confused until the man explained further, pointing downward. "I had circumcision surgery a few days ago, I wasn't planning to go out, but something urgent came up, and well... I think the stitches opened."

Felix suppressed a groan. "Sir, this is a traditional medicine clinic, and I can't help with that. Please immediately take a cab to the hospital before it gets infected."

The man nodded understanding and turned to leave just as Melissa returned in a new outfit. Felix covered his face, anticipating what was about to happen.

Sure enough, the man's anguished cry followed "Oh no! The stitches are opened!"
