Chapter 702
"Inform Candace that the owner is on their way. Let's stabilize the situation for now. What do you think, Warlord of Thunder?" Xena asked tactfully, giving the Warlord of Thunder the respect his position warranted.
He nodded. "That's workable. But convincing the owner to go inside-that's the real challenge."
When faced with a ruthless and murderous criminal like this, stepping in would be as good as a death sentence. As an official organization, they had to disclose every detail without hiding anything. It was a daunting task, as any ordinary person would likely shrink back "I'll handle the persuasion," Xena offered. "Let's move to the shop next door. Too many people might make the owner more nervous."
A few minutes later, Alistair entered the shop, his expression slightly unusual.
"Warlords, the owner is here," he informed them.
"Good. Send them in, and you step out," Xena instructed.
But Alistair hesitated, standing rooted to the spot, prompting Xena's displeasure.
"is something on your mind? Do you understand how critical the situation is? If you can't focus, leave now!" Xena scolded, her tone sharp but warranted, given the circumstances.
Alistair shifted uncomfortably before replying. The owner-you know him, Lady Summers. I'm concerned being alone with himight make things worse."
She knew him? It might make things worse? Xena frowned, puzzled. Still, she waved him away. "Go!"
Alistair had no choice but to step out. As felix walked in, Xena's expression darkened significantly. At that moment, she finally understood why Alistair had said what he did.
"Xena, this shouldn't count as me actively harassing you, right?" felix said, his tone carrying a hint of irony
The moment Felix saw Alistair, he knew Xena had to be here too. Even the Warlord of
Thunder was involved - it was clear just how dramatic this situation had become
Xena took several deep breaths. Although she understood the importance of staying calm, she couldn't bring herself to speak to Felix without her emotions spilling over. She knew this lingering tension could easily disrupt what came next "Someone else will talk to you."
Felix's disappointment was palpable. Even such a situation couldn't prompt Xera to speak. to him directly. It was evident that her resentment hadn't diminished in the slightest.
Chapter 702
Not long after, the Warlord of Thunder entered the room. Xena stayed put, not wanting to interact with Felix but unwilling to leave either
"Mr. Zeller, I'm the Warlord of Thunder. There's been a hostage situation at your clinic, and we need your cooperation."
After hearing that Xena was involved, Felix couldn't just stand by and do nothing- especially when it concerned his clinic.
"Go ahead. I'll cooperate fully."
The Warlord seemed satisfied with this response and quickly explained who was inside the clinic, as well as the potential scenarios they might face.
"The Five of Hearts, Candace Shadowmere, from the Thirteen Aces? And we still don't know who the abductors are?" Felix frowned, a sense of unease creeping into his thoughts. The fact that they had chosen his clinic as their hiding place didn't seem like a coincidence. "You seem like you've heard of the Thirteen Aces," the Warlord said, scrutinizing Felix closely. The group was so obscure that even influential figures often knew nothing about them, let alone an ordinary person.
"I got it. I'll handle the rest," Felix said abruptly and turned to leave.
The Warlord froze for a moment, then his expression hardened. "How reckless! Do you even understand what you're doing?"
With his back still turned, Felix raised his right hand and said coldly, "One minute."
One minute? The Warlord felt his anger surge, and he immediately gestured to his team.
"Take him down!"
