The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
Billionaire With Husband 727
Chapter 727
"Felix..." Melissa appeared, her face full of reluctance.
"Go on. Be good," Felix said.
Seeing Billy's smug expression, Melissa huffed and went to make him a cup of coffee. When she returned and handed it to him, Billy brought the cup to his lips, only to pause mid -sip. His lips twitched in disbelief.
"Girl, does your clinic have an unlimited supply of coffee grounds or something?" he asked, staring at the cup packed so full that it was practically sludge.
No sane person would brew coffee like this.
"Oh, well," Billy said with a shrug, "at least it's made by a pretty lady-still smells nice from her touch."
Taking a small sip, Billy finally got to the point. "The highlight of the auction is a very peculiar bone."
Felix's eyes flickered for a moment before he smirked. "Are you trying to say that I'ma dog? A bone is supposed to interest me? What a waste of my coffee."
Billy chuckled, lowering his voice. "Oh, really? I don't buy it. Someone practicing the Dragons Destroyer technique wouldn't be curious about a unique bone?" What?
In an instant, Felix's presence pressed down on Billy like a crushing weight. Yet Billy's expression didn't change in the slightest, showing that Felix's formidable presence was useless against him. Retracting his energy, Felix's gaze grew serious. "Who exactly are you?"
Billy took another sip of coffee, spat out the coffee grounds, and finally spoke, "Why do you care? If I meant you harm, you'd already be dead. Just know that our mentors are old acquaintances."
As expected! Felix took a deep breath, forcing himself to suppress his doubts for now. Just like the smug Billy had said, there didn't seem to be any malice. If he had malicious intent, Felix wouldn't stand a chance. "Why are you telling me this?"
"Simple. Now you owe me a favor, don't you?"
Felix couldn't deny it. If the Ardonia auction really did feature a bone-be it an actual Dragonspine or not he would owe Billy a favor, no matter what.
Chapter 727
""Fine. 1, Felix Zeller, owe you one.
Satisfied with the response, Billy shared the rest of the details, handed Felix a card, and left, looking entirely pleased, as though his sole purpose was to make Felix owe him a favor.
"There's a good chance Aiden knows about this auction, too. I can't let my guard down," Felix muttered.
The Greene family's influence in Dragonia was overwhelming. The last time they had seized Victor's Dragonspine and brokered deals with those two, it was clear that Aiden was also desperately searching for the same thing. Given how high-profile the auction was, it was highly likely Aiden would be involved.
Aiden had reached Innate Realm at the age of ten. Felix wanted to avoid a confrontation with him unless absolutely necessary.
The Elders Council had been quiet recently, but Felix didn't believe they had truly retreated. They were likely preparing a decisive strike. After all, as martial artists climbed higher in strength, they became rarer and more valuable-even the Elders' Council couldn't afford significant losses.
Adding the Jacobs family into the mix, who would willingly gain another powerful enemy?
Around noon, Felix arrived at the massage parlor, where Isabella was already waiting at the
entrance.
"Hey, Felix, everything's sorted. Darren Yeager has agreed, but he insisted on one condition-it has to be a loan, and it must be returned within a year, no matter what. Otherwise, it's not for sale at any price," Isabella explained, clearly exasperated.
She had cursed Darren countless times internally. Despite the item's immense value and the generous offer, he refused to sell it outright.
"Alright. Let's go in," Felix said.
In Darren's office, the broad smile on his face told Felix everything.
"Thank you, Mr. Zeller. Without you, Bella and I wouldn't be together," Darren said earnestly.
Then, he added, "Honestly, I used to be a gambler. My father had me late in life and doted on me endlessly. He had billions of dollars in savings, and I squandered it all on gambling. In the end, all he left was the Nightshade Discipline before disappearing without a trace." Chapter 728
