"You bitch! How dare you splash me? Do you know who I am?" Edwin snarled.

Just in time, Felix grabbed Edwin's wrist and pushed him back, causing him to stumble until his friends caught him. Though Felix had not planned on playing hero, he had never felt more compelled to act. "Get lost!" he warned.

"You're both dead! Neither of you is walking out of here in one piece!" Edwin threatened as he pulled out a switchblade, and his friends quickly surrounded Felix.

"I'm calling the police!" Queenie warned, frightened as she pulled out her phone.

Edwin sneered, "Call them, and I'll slice up that pretty face of yours."

Felix calmly guided Queenie back to her seat before calling out to someone behind the thugs." Handle this."

"Mr. Zeller!" Multiple voices rang out in unison, startling Edwin and his men.

They spun around to find over a dozen intimidating men standing behind them, far more threatening than any street thugs.

"M-Mr. Gray!" Edwin stammered, recognizing the leader. He could not believe his terrible luck -Felix knew Kurt.

Without even a chance to beg for mercy, the thugs were dragged away.

Queenie watched in amazement as Felix quickly explained, "I saved his life once."

He did not want Queenie to think he was involved with gangs, knowing it would lower her opinion of him. After all, no respectable woman would be interested in someone mixed up in violence and crime. Kurt tactfully chose a booth to wait, knowing better than to interrupt even if his business was

urgent.

"Are you okay?" Felix asked Queenie softly.

Queenie shook her head apologetically. "I'm so sorry for getting you into trouble."

"We're neighbors, so there's no need to apologize. You probably don't feel like drinking. anymore. Can I give you a ride home?" Felix offered.

Queenie stood up with a forced smile. "No, thanks. I'll just grab a cab."

After she left, Felix sat across from Kurt. "What was so urgent it needed to be in person?"

Kurt had prepared his response carefully. "Mr. Zeller, Jeremiah Jacinto, Gray City's wealthiest man, suddenly sent people to warn me against helping you."

Chapter 744

Felix was puzzled. He had never even met Jeremiah, so the sudden hostility was puzzling. He replied, "Tell Ryan to handle it."

"Yes, sir!" Kurt replied promptly.

Felix saw no reason to waste energy on such trivial matters. Even George could easily handle someone like Gray City's richest man, let alone Ryan.

Felix had barely gotten home when Queenie showed up at his door, looking anxious. "I think I'm having those symptoms again. Could you check my pulse?"

Though it was an opportunity, Felix refused to take advantage of her vulnerable state. "Of course. Let me examine you."

After checking her pulse and finding everything normal, Felix reassured her, "It's natural to be haunted by such a strange illness. Give it some time, and you'll feel better soon." Queenie sighed in relief, patting her chest. "Thank you for everything. I should head back now.

Just as she stood to leave, a woman's voice echoed through the house, "Why are you in such a rush to leave? Since you're here, why don't we clear things up first?" Today's Bonus Offer
