Nelly quickly apologized, "I understand, Felix. I promise I won't do this again."

Tom was still in Gray City. Killing him could wait as long as it was done before sunset.

They arrived at a run-down neighborhood in Gray City, where Nelly's cousin lived. The conditions were below modest. In fact, it was downright poor.

As they walked, a gate opened. Two men emerged, dragging a terrified woman who was making distressed sounds.

"June!" Nelly's expression changed as she rushed forward. This was her cousin, June Barett.

"Let her go!" Nelly shouted.

The thugs sneered, one of them immediately trying to kick Nelly. "Back off, bitch!"

Felix quickly took them down before they could hurt Nelly.

"You'll regret this, punk!" While supporting each other, they threw out a threat before leaving.

After entering the yard, Nelly said Felix could begin treatment once June had calmed down.

"Tell her the treatment might hurt since it's been so long. She'll need to bear with it," Felix told Nelly..

After Nelly translated, June froze, her hands signing rapidly. "Felix, she's asking if she can really be cured."

Felix nodded with a smile. "Absolutely. Though learning to speak again afterward will be up to her."

Even Nelly teared up at this confirmation.

June was quite pretty. Once she was freed from disability and with Nelly's financial support,

her life could completely turn around.

Just as Felix finished the treatment, they heard a commotion outside. "Stay with her. I'll check it out," Felix ordered.

Nelly started to speak but stopped herself as she felt guilty about causing Felix more trouble. Outside, a few cars had pulled up, with over 20 men carrying clubs stepping out.

"Think you're tough, you brat? Let's see you take all of us down!" The two men from earlier were now extremely cocky.

"Well, if it isn't Dr. Zeller. Good thing I came. Otherwise, I'd be paying medical bills for these guys.'

To Felix's surprise, Tom stepped out of one of the cars. "Looks like you'll have to die today."

Tom showed no fear, instead stepping right up to Felix with a threatening lean. "You should be happy that someone had cleaned up your mess before instead of fighting me. You have no idea who's backing me. "So, are you going to step aside, or should we have another go?"
