The Ryland Boys -
Chapter 13
Pushing out of bed, I held my head tight “f**k!” I said getting up and going out the door and down the stairs to the kitchen.
Pulling out Tylenol I took some and drank some water leaving the pills out because I’m sure everyone’s going to need it.
I laid my head on the cool counter sighing “God damn my head.” I sighed.
The phone rang and the machine began speaking “Call from, Mom.”
Waiting for a bit, no one answered and I picked it up “Hello?” I asked trying to sound not hungover.
“Norah, how did everyone do last night?” She asked.
I eyed the house that was now spotless “Good, a few people came over and we just had pizza and watched tv.” I said lying.
She sighed “Thank god, alright well we should be home later tonight. You guys go out and eat dinner we probably won’t come in until late. The guys doing good?” She asked.
I watched Carter walk in with Lucy. “Yeah, they’re good.” I said.
Alison stayed quiet “Can I talk to one of them?” She asked.
I stared at Carter “Yeah. Let me get one.” I said covering the phone with my hand “Your moms on the phone, don’t sound hungover. We had a few people over for pizza and tv.” I said before he nodded and took the phone.
“Goodmorning.” Carter said.
Alison’s voice was mumbled in the distance and he smiled at me “Yeah we had a good time, Nick, Luke, Tanner and Lindsay came over. We ordered some pizza and watched some movies.” He said.
“Alright mom, you guys fly safe. Bye.” He said hanging up and handing it to me.
I put it down and eyed the plates on the stove with our names.
Taking Carters I handed it to him with a fork before I grabbed mine and sat on the other side of Lucy. “I get pancakes. You can have some.” I said pouring syrup on the chocolate chip pancakes watching her eyes stare from mine and Carters plate.
“So, Lucy, you and Carter have a good time last night?” I asked handing her a fork and taking one for myself.
Sitting back down beside her she smiled “We did. Who was that guy you beat up?” She asked laughing.
I looked up at her confused and thought back on the patchy night “Oh, Cory. Yeah he just bugged me.” I said looking to Carter who laughed.
“What happen? How’d you guys know?” I asked taking a bite of the pancakes.
Lucy laughed “He came out with a couple rolled up tissues in his nose and an ice pack to his balls.” She said smirking at me.
I nodded “Yeah, he deserved it. The guy was a tool.” I said swallowing down the pancakes.
She took a bit of my pancakes and I liked this girl.
We ate breakfast talking about what she does and wants to be, and I think I got to know her better than Carter did.
“Alright Norah, stop flirting with her. I called dibs.” Carter said giving my shoulder a shove.
I laughed and pushed my plate to her winking “Call me.” I said putting the fork down in the sink and heading out the kitchen.
Mason had Hilary on his arm and smiled at me “Nice kicking Cory’s a*s last night.” He said and I held a thumbs up going to the gym to see the b***d on the mat dried up.
Grabbing a few wipes I began cleaning it off the mat and then on the floor where he dropped b***d. “You don’t have to do that.”
I looked up at Jax, “It’s all good.” I said cleaning the last spot and standing tossing the dirty wipe in the trash bin.
Looking over his shoulder I c****d an eyebrow, “Lindsay?” I asked.
He sighed “She drove him home.” He pursed his lips crossing his arms over his chest.
I went to shove my hands in my back pockets out of a nervous habit but realized these are pajama shorts and they don’t have back pockets “Sorry. I didn’t think she’d do that.” I said.
Jax stared at me with his stupid sexy curious eyes “Did you learn to fight after it happened?” He asked me.
I realized in that moment that I told him my most miserable secret last night. My drunk a*s told Jax about my rapist, all of it, even the part of me killing him.
“Yeah I uh, I took a self defense class for a year, then Ju Jitzu for a couple months, Boxing for three months, kickboxing for a month and then I decided I wanted to learn to use a handgun.” I said nodding.
Jax dropped his head running his finger under his l*p “You can shoot?” He asked me.
Smirking I gave a nod, “I wanted to be prepared, in case I ever needed to protect myself.” I said running my hands up and down my arms nervously.
He nodded “So you’re a killing one woman destroyer who plays the part of an innocent babysitter who reads books on her free time?” He asked me as if he was a detective or something.
Picturing my life I furrowed my eyebrows “In some way, yes.” I stated looking to the floor.
“What else is there to know about you?” He asked curiously.
I walked over to the mat, “There’s a lot, I think you’ve only delved into the first layer of who Norah Brooks is.” I said c*****g an eyebrow at him.
He walked in and moved to the mat “At first when you left with him I thought you had to be stupid.” He said watching me carefully.
I laughed “Oh no, trust me so did I. The guy was a brick wall.” I stated running my fingers over my lips to muffle the laugh.
“Then I watched.” He said staring at my legs, “You walked in and you knew what you wanted to do, how you wanted to do it and how to get it done.” He said eyeing the radio “Even turned on some music.”
I eyed the radio “Good band by the way.” I said gesturing to the CD.
He nodded keeping his green eyes steadied on me “You weren’t afraid.” He commented.
Looking to the mat I scoffed “Oh no I was, but I kept thinking about how he had the audacity to come into your home and show his face. I realized he had to be a p***y at that point.” I said looking up at his green eyes.
Jax’s eyes moved around my face before he looked to the door, “I had them put a glass wall in case people came over to watch me fight. I hated the business people in here, they’d watch and write, their little movements distracting.” He said.
I eyed the glass wall and glass door. “Makes sense. This is your space.” I said looking up at him.
He nodded “I haven’t speculated from outside.” He said eyeing it. “Not until last night watching you. I realized how silent it was outside there but remembered how loud it feels in here.”
Masons head popped up from outside the door and he pushed it open “Hilary wanted a tour.” He said looking to us both.
I smiled at Hilary before her eyes moved to me and Jax.
Looking to Jax, I noticed how close we stood and backed up pursing my lips. “You want to try and fight Norah?” Mason asked laughing.
Hilary shook her head laughing “I don’t need a broken nose.” She said taking his hand “Sorry to bother.” She stated taking Masons hand and hurrying out the door with him.
I eyed the door for a while before looking up at Jax, he stepped closer, his eyes watching me cautiously before he stopped inches from me “Fascinating new thing.” He said before the song began running through my head and I smiled with a small confused look.
“I should go.” I said looking to his lips and then watching him nod slow and barely there.
I bit my l*p walking away and going out the door and through the hall up the stairs to my bedroom.
Shutting the door, I eyed my phone and placed the song F.N.T on low, “fascinating new thing, you delight me and I know you’re speaking of me.” I sang along softly.
“I’m surpriseeeed that you never been told befoooore that you’re lovely and you’re perfect and that somebody wants you.” I smiled “I’m surprised that you never been told before that you’re priceless yeah you’re precious even when you’re not new.” I sang shutting my eyes and thinking of his smile.
Oh god, I think I’m falling for him. This is awful.
I’m so going to get fired if I don’t end this.
I spent the rest of the day reading and listening to the moaning from Masons room.
They’ve been at it for a while.
Eyeing the time I got up pulling on a pair of jeans and a tight crew neck top with the words “here’s Johnny” written in very small red print on the left boob. Putting on my silver watch and stud earrings on, I spritzed perfume on.
Slipping on my converse I pulled my hair to a ponytail and walked out the door to hear heavy moaning from Carters room and Masons. Alright, that works.
I pursed my lips and eyed my watch it’s practically eight. I’m starving.
“I’m going to get myself a pound sized burrito with fries and a coke. If you want some damn good Mexican food meet me downstairs in ten-” I listened to the creaking slow “Fifteen minutes!” I called out going down the stairs.
I went to the kitchen leaving a note in case they came home early.
The sound of doors opening and shutting came and I smirked.
Going to the gym, I eyed Jax training.
Pushing the door open I smiled “Would you be able to get ready in ten minutes for some really good Mexican food?” I asked him.
Jax looked down at me giving me a small smile and nodding.
Heading out the gym, I went to the stairs to see Mason smiling wide “Food over s*x every time.” He said sighing.
I laughed “Where is she?” I asked him.
He gestured to the door “She left when I pushed her off and went running for my clothes.” He said laughing.
Oh god, “Smooth.” I said watching Jax hurry up the stairs.
Mason looked back at Jax and then down at me “What’s with you two?” He asked low as he adjusted his button up shirt.
I shrugged “Nothing, we just drank a lot and talked a bit.” I said watching him nod “Alright. I just don’t want your heart breaking. He always goes back to her Norah, I’m telling you.” He said low shaking his head.
I eyed Mason and he furrowed his eyebrows “Don’t think I’m just saying that to win you over, I care about you. You’re a good girl who doesn’t deserve that pain. He will always go back to her.” He said again.
Carter came down smiling at Lucy “Are you sure you can’t come with us?” He asked her.
She shook her head laughing “My sister needs me to watch her kids. Thank you though. I had a really good time.” She said kissing him for a long sweet k**s before pulling back and smiling, she headed out the door “Bye Norah.” She said laughing lightly.
I smiled “drive safe.” I said watching her go out the door.
Jax came down the stairs running his hands through his hair and staring at us “Who’s car are we taking?” He asked as we headed out the front door.
“We can take mine, I haven’t driven her in a while, she probably needs some loving.” Mason said sighing.
I smirked and Jack brought around Masons car.
It was a beautiful pick up truck with more muscle on a truck than I’ve ever seen on a person. “Wow.” I said eyeing the truck.
Mason grinned “You know how to drive a truck?” He asked me.
I nodded and he tossed me the keys.
Getting in, I had to use the door foot stool because it was so high up. I got in and adjusted the mirrors and my seat. Mason smiled over at me “You look like a kid in their parents car.” He laughed.
Carter agreed and Jax c****d an eyebrow at me “Did I ever tell you guys I dated a race car driver?” I asked watching the car grow quiet, I laughed “Okay I guess not.” I turned the truck on driving it out the driveway and down the street. “Well he used to take me to the race track twice a week and he’d let me race his car. For one of the races he couldn’t drive so I pretended to be him, dressed in his attire, wore his helm and faked it till I made it. I got us second place.” I said watching the road and laughing.
“I’ve raced in an actual racecar race.” I said looking to Mason who grinned. “That’s hot.” He said laughing.
Carter leaned forward “Why aren’t you still with him?” He asked furrowing his eyebrows.
I smirked “I wouldn’t sleep with him so he eventually got bored and dumped me before one of his races. We’d only dated for two months, I was nineteen at the the time.” I laughed “I only dated him to drive his car anyways.” I added.
Carter pat my shoulder “That’s rad. I didn’t know girls did that. You just date a guy for his things?” He asked.
I laughed “I did. Not proud of it but I don’t regret it either.” I said shrugging.
“Is he the coolest boyfriend you’ve had?” Mason asked staring at me and turning the radio station.
I shook my head “No, the coolest boyfriend I had was when I was seventeen and dated this wilderness guy who used to take me rock climbing and made me a pair of snake skin boots.” I laughed shaking my head at how stupid it sounded.
Mason laughed “Snake skin boots?” He asked looking to Carter laughing harder. I flipped him off turning “He was a good guy, I dumped him though.” I said sighing.
Carter leaned in more “You miss him?” He asked me.
I shook my head “None of them.” I said smiling, “The memories are great, and I’ll always have them but I couldn’t see a forever with them.” I said turning the music up.
“How many where there?” Mason asked eyeing me.
I pondered “Real boyfriends, four. Boyfriends that lasted a week or less, three.” I said shrugging.
Carter smiled down at me “So you’ve had your fair share of dicks.” He said catching me off guard.
I shook my head “Never slept with any of them.” I said rolling the window down.
He leaned even more forward now his head was right beside mine “So you’re a Virgin?” He asked.
I shook my head “No, I lost that three years ago to some random a*****e.” I said turning again.
“Interesting. So you’ve only ever f****d one guy all your life?” Carter asked.
“Carter, come on. Leave Norah alone.” Jax said pulling Carters shirt and sitting him back down. “I’m just asking she seems open about her s*x life. I’m just curious.” He said laughing.
I eyed the roads “How many guys did your ex wife f**k? I’m just curious.” I asked him regretting it before it even came out.
Carter cleared his throat and it grew quiet in the car, I turned the radio up driving us to the place.
After ten minutes Carter leaned forward “I’m sorry Norah, that wasn’t right of me to pry.” He said before sitting back.
I nodded “I’m sorry too, that wasn’t a nice thing of me to say.” I said looking to him. He gave me a small smile and I held a hand back, he took it giving it an encouraging squeeze and I let go putting both hands on the steering wheel.
“Alright so we know you’re a badass, you dated badasses. But you want to be a teacher.” Mason said staring at the street. I nodded and then felt relief when I saw the sign.
Parking the truck, I turned it off and got out going inside with the guys.
“Where are we?” Carter asked eyeing the restaurant “The part of town I call home.” I said smirking and smiling at the man in front “Table for four.” I said watching him nod and walk us to a booth. He set down four menus and some silverware.
Getting in Jax sat across me with Mason to my right and Carter to Jax’s left.
“Your waiter will be with you soon.” He said walking away after giving us a friendly smile.
The guys eyed the menu nodding the entire time, “What are you getting?” Mason asked looking at my menu like it wasn’t the same menu he held.
I closed the menu “The steak burrito with fries.” I said watching the waiter come over, Theresa smiled at me “Hey girl, what’s up?” She asked as she placed down fresh chips and salsa.
Smiling at her, I eyed her new hair cut, “Oh you did it!” I said staring at it in amazement.
She turned and did a full circle at her new hairstyle and color. Theresa was a blonde who would wear her hair split down the middle to her waist. Now? Theresa had dark red hair and bangs with her hair layered to her shoulders.
She went from Brady Bunch to Rock Star quick.
“You like it?” She asked laughing, I nodded “Totally, it’s a brand new you.” Ismiled.
She looked to me and then wrote down “I got the sprite and Stella Artois for you, what about you guys? Oh you’re all very cute.” She said looking up at me shocked.
I smirked “These are my new housemates, Mason, Carter and Jax.” I said gesturing to each.
They all gave a small smile and hi, “Alright you guys, drinks?” She asked.
“They have a lot of alcoholic drinks too, I’ll be designated driver but don’t drink too much your mom wouldn’t want to see you all drunk.” I said handing them the alcohol menu.
“Two rootbeers and a Sprite for now.” Carter said smiling.
She nodded “If you guys are ready to order I can get that for you too.” She said looking them over.
“I’ll do the carne tacos.” Carter said eyeing the menu.
“And I’ll have the ultimation. Steak.” Mason said smiling and handing her his menu.
I looked to Jax and he gestured for me to order “I’ll do the steak burrito with fries inside.” I said watching her laugh “You and your damn fries.” She said taking my menu.
Jax handed her his menu “I’ll have what she’s having.” He said before looking to the alcohol menu “And I’ll do a Corona.” He said.
She stared from him to me giving me a face before she nodded and walked off.
As she brought our drinks, she placed down some guacamole too. “On the house.” She winked to Mason and walked away.
I smirked at him and he c****d an eyebrow at me “You get a lot of food on the house.” He said laughing.
Taking a drink of my beer I looked to him “A lot of the people I went to high school with work in food industry. They’re just really old friends. I’ve known Theresa since third grade.” I said watching him smile. “How weird…” He said looking around the table.
I laughed “What?” I asked watching him stare around the place “We’ve lived in that same house since we where born. We’ve all been so close, literally just the next town over, but never met.” He said leaning back.
Nodding I looked over at him “I’m sure you all went to private school.” I said watching them nod laughing.
I gave another nod drinking my beer “I went to a public school, drugs were sold under the bleachers, s*x was happening in the locker room showers, the bathroom fire detectors were all broken because students smoked their way through school…good times.” I laughed.
Jax smirked, “You got a real high school experience.” He said nodding.
I nodded “Felt nice.” I said leaning forward.
“I’d love to have seen it.” Mason said smiling at me.
Leaning back I stared at him and then the others “I could show you it after we finish eating. The door by the library is always unlocked, the janitor Willis leaves it open for any students who need a place to sleep.” I said taking a chip and dipping it into the guacamole.
“Really?” Carter asked furrowing his eyebrows.
I nodded “Yeah, a lot of kids are from foster homes or have problems at home and sleep on the benches or couch hop.” I said biting the chip.
Jax looked to me and drank his beer, “Lets go.” He said leaning back.
The food came a bit after and Mason was moaning the entire time he ate his food, “I have a boner right now.” He said laughing at us with a mouth full.
Oh god, I laughed and took another bite, Jax was staring at his burrito taking huge bites and nodding.
I looked to Carter who was eating each taco with his eyes shut.
Theresa came over and looked to the guys “Hows the food?” She asked laughing.
Mason looked up at her with his eyes like he was stoned, “This is f*****g delicious, you ever had that really amazing s*x that just…you wish you could keep going and never get tired?” He asked her.
She laughed looking at me with her eyes bulging out and mouth agape.
“Just say yes.” I said winking at her.
She looked down at him “Yeah.” She responded.
He nodded “That’s how I feel for this. I mean holy f**k.” He said taking another bite and moaning.
She looked to Jax who gave her a Thumbs up while keeping his eyes on the burrito. “The fries top it off.” He said nodding and looking to me.
I smiled and nodded “I know right?” I looked to Theresa who smirked and looked down at Carter furrowing her eyebrows.
He was like a tired kid eating with their eyes closed “You alright there?” She asked him.
Carter slowly opened his eyes and looked to her like he’d been caught with his hand in a cookie jar “These are amazing. Do you guys cater?” He asked looking at his three tacos left.
She smirked “I’ll get a card for you. You guys let me know if you need anything else.” She said.
They all gave her a thumbs up and I smiled at them all.
Masons moaning, Jax’s seductive stare at his burrito and Carters shut eyes entering heaven with every bite.
I finished my burrito watching as Mason took the last bite of his burrito sighing with a smile.
Carter went for another taco and realized he ran out “Damn.” He said low before looking up at me.
Jax finished his burrito before us and was drinking his second beer. “Any desserts?” Theresa asked walking back over.
I shook my head, “Can we get the check?” Carter asked.
She nodded and handed him a card “This is the chefs card. He said give him a week in advance for any events.” She said smiling and going to get the check.
When she came back she had four bowls with an ice cream scoop, churro strips on top and chocolate fudge “Compliments of the chef.” She smiled at us.
They each nodded thanking her.
Carter pulled his wallet out to pay and I butt in “Hey, I get to pay. I took you guys out.” I said watching him laugh at me. “What kind of d**k would I be if I let you pay?” He asked.
I sat back eating my ice cream, “Thank you Carter.” I said watching him wink at me.
“This is good.” Mason said eating his ice cream.
I held up a churro strip “It’s these guys that make it good.” I said pooping one into my mouth.
He nodded.
After we paid, I watched the guys walk out and Theresa hurried to me “Are they single? Are you dating Jax? Can I f**k one?” She asked laughing.
I eyed the check to see it was eighty, he tipped her forty dollars. “Damn…nice tip.” I said laughing as watching her look down at it with wide eyes “Wow.” She said.
Heading out the door I told her to text me and got into the truck, “What’d she want?” Mason asked.
I bucked up and turned the car on “To know if she could sleep with one of you.” I said smirking.
He turned looking to Jax, “She’s got that rock style. That’s all yours kid.” He said.
Jax laughed short.
“I’ll take her.” Carter said leaning in.
I looked over at him “Put your number in my phone and I’ll text it to her.” I said watching him nod and take my phone.
Driving toward my old high school, I sighed and felt a small smile crawl up my face. Parking in the staff parking lot, I got out and the guys followed.
Heading to the library door, I twisted the knob and smirked as it opened. The guys followed laughing and staying quiet.
As the door shut, I headed out the janitors office to the halls. Lockers lined the walls and the blue and white checkered floors stood out seeming much cleaner than before.
“Damn you guys have such small lockers.” Mason said looking them over.
I laughed “This was the main hall.” I said eyeing the hall.
So many old memories here, “My friends and I used to always meet right here before lunch.” I said standing by the window.
Jax looked over at me before studying the walls and photos along it.
“Is that you?” Carter asked.
I tilted my head walking to the case and staring down at the photo. “Oh god.” I laughed.
Miss Jepson Highs Pageant: 1st Place- Norah Brooks.
I nodded looking down at me “That was junior year, I was so happy I won. The girl I hated joined and she wanted to win so bad, and so I joined just to beat her.” I said shaking my head.
Mason laughed “You’re here too.” He said and I looked to the trophies. “That’s my first Trophy.” I said biting my nails and watching the huge trophy.
“So you were popular here?” Carter asked.
I shrugged “I knew a lot of people. Spent a lot of time listening to people’s crap.” I said staring at the trophies.
Walking out of the hall, I headed to the gymnasium and Mason eyed it “Oh damn this is where they play basketball?” He asked.
I nodded “Yeah we used to sit on the bleachers and have games in here.” I said gesturing to the small gymnasium.
We did a small tour and I told them about memories I had like the time Amanda walked right into the building and we laughed our asses off.
Nichole’s a good friend, we kept her around too, but the rest of our clique we shed. They were more drama than they were worth keeping.
“Nichole lost her virginity in this shower.” I said looking to the shower in the locker room.
Carter grinned “I like this Nichole girl.” He said nodding and smirking at me.
I laughed “I’m sure you do.” I said before going to the bottom locker putting in four-two-zero and opening it.
Inside was a bag of weed and I laughed pulling it out “I guess old traditions don’t die.” I said watching them laugh.
Tossing it back in the locker, I shut it. “You’re not keeping it?” Mason asked.
I shook my head “Neither of you can even smoke it. You’re going to get drug tested when you go back” I said to Carter “You’re on a team and they always do random checks.” I said and then pointed to Jax “Your Doctor might get pissed.” I said not knowing what to say “Anyways this towns known for lacing their shit.” I said walking out the locker rooms.
We headed up to the football field and I walked under the bleachers “This is where you get that laced s**t. Also where some people f**k.” I said looking to Carter “This is where you would’ve spent your high school years.” I joked.
Jax and Mason laughed and we walked to the field “Is there a ball?” He asked.
I shook my head “That’s the only thing they lock up here.” I laughed.
“Damn.” Carter muttered.
We sat on the bleachers for a while staring at the field “I did cheer for my sophomore year and absolutely hated it.” I said leaning back.
“Wait so you were a cheerleader and a pageant winner?” Carter asked.
I nodded “Why do you think I only dated the coolest of cool?” I joked.
Mason smirked “You ever date a popular jock?” He asked me eyeing the lights that shined on the field.
I thought about it “No, I tried to avoid dating guys in school. I was into older guys.” I said leaning forward.
Looking to Jax he stared at me thoughtfully.
“So you never would’ve dated me huh?” Mason asked.
I turned to him “If you had a race car, a boat or a helicopter I would’ve.”
Mason turned looking at me “I have a dog.” He said smiling sheepishly.
Nodding I crossed my arms over my chest “Yeah, I think I could’ve dated you for your dog.” I said laughing.
Carter laughed as he laid on the bleacher seat “I only dated older woman too.” He said calmly. “The first one was my physics teacher, sophomore year.” He smirked.
“Miss Callen?” Jax asked staring at the field.
Carter smirked at him “She was a milf.” He said “I’m glad I didn’t impregnate her. She got fat.” He said laying his head back on his arms.
Mason shrugged “I thought that one teacher who taught English was hot. That French woman…” he eyed them both trying to remember her name.
Carter spoke quick “Miss Levau!” He said laughing.
“You got any hot teachers?” Carter asked looking to me.
I laughed “My Chemistry teacher had these amazing arms.” I said laying my head on my knees, “He was an a*s though.” I added.
“Where’d you meet these cool guys?” Mason asked laughing.
I rolled my eyes “Parties, clubs, bars. I had a fake ID.” I said shrugging.
Carter hit my knee “Why aren’t you with a cool guy now?” He asked looking over at me.
Looking out at the field I wondered that myself “I’m not really on the search for a man. I’m just trying to make money and survive for now.” I said looking to Jax who gave me a small smile.
“You guys ready to go?” I asked looking around a them.
They nodded and we headed out the school and to the truck, I let Mason drive since he didn’t drink and he begged “Seatbelt Mason” I repeated but he ignored me.
“Private eyes they’re watching you!” Mason sang some old eighties song making us laugh and shake our heads.
Carter and him sat in the front doing their own karaoke.
I looked over at Jax, he was staring at his phone frustrated typing and then putting it down. It lit up and he read it rubbing his jaw texting back.
The phone began ringing and he silenced it, Lindsay’s face popped up smiling and I kept my eyes the guys.
The light turned green and Mason drove forward, that was the beginning.
The impact hit us at full speed and I gripped Carters shirt while I felt the weight of Jax flying into me. The crack of my rib killed, I was sure I broke that s**t.
The truck flipped a few times, and we landed to the side, a cars lights flashed in front of us and I held Jaxs head turning my face moving us quickly to the bottom of the seats.
The car slammed into the hood crushing the car, my heart was racing wild. Tears wanted to fall, I wanted to scream.
A loud honking sound hung in the air and I tried standing pushing the door on top open, the car was squished by now. I was chest to chest with Jax, and he was out cold. “Jax!” I said smacking his face a few times. Feeling for his breath, he was still breathing. f*****g hell.
Taking a deep breath I grabbed his h**s and used all my strength pushing him up. “You okay?!” A voice asked from outside.
I felt my words stick in my throat “Pull him out! Grab him!” I shouted.
Jax began getting pulled up and I pulled myself up, looking to Jax I saw the older man carrying/dragging him to the sidewalk away from the wreckage.
On my left was a tipped semi b***d dripping on the floor, to my right, a red car with the front crushed completely.
Turning and pushing the drivers seat open to see Mason staring at me holding his stomach, I quickly took in the moment. He’s bleeding a lot. Oh my god.
Carter was out but his leg was crushed in the seat.
Looking to another person I waved “Call the ambulance! Now” I said climbing down in with Mason, glass cutting up my sides and arms.
He was holding it staring at me worried “I’m-It’s a lot of b***d.” He said scared. I nodded and took off my sweater putting it to his stomach “Help me okay? We’re going to get out.” I said
Mason nodded and I helped push him up and out of the car. “I got him!” The guy said.
I looked down at Carter “Hey, Carter. Carter wake up.” I said reaching down and pulling the lever. The seat moved back and I felt for Carters breathing. He’s okay. He’s breathing.
Pulling him up, he woke up groaning in pain, “Hey Carter, listen, I know you’re in pain but you have to get up okay?” I asked.
He laid there and I pulled him up, he slowly helped me and I pushed him out the top, the guys voice saying “I got this one too!” He shouted.
I sighed in relief.
“Get out!” The man shouted.
I listened as running sounds came and then I heard the screech of breaks. Something told me getting out wouldn’t do much.
Another impact came, this time it flipped the car down, I held the seat screaming as the car was pushed feet from the original crash.
A loud creak sound came, followed by the sound of glass and then the roof of the car was pushed crushing me into the seat.
Another honk came, lingering in the air and I realized when I looked down at the steering wheel crushing my arm that it was me, the roof of the car was pressing me into the two seats, I felt so claustrophobic, I felt unable to move. Fear racking up my body and I tried to pull myself out but instead, I passed out in exhaustion.
I couldn’t fight this even with all my training.
