The Ryland Boys -
Chapter 18
Pulling the two dresses out, I eyed each carefully.
Come on Norah! This is Casper, he isn’t going to care about what you wear.
Staring at the mirror I eyed my curled hair and my makeup. I can’t believe I agreed to this.
An hour ago I agreed to meet Casper, and ten minutes after I raced to the nearest store to buy all the makeup and nail Polish a girl could think to wear.
Forty minutes since the phone call, I was standing in front of a mirror looking majorly dolled up.
Going to the room next door I knocked and waited.
Jax pulled the door open and stared down at me confused “Come here I need help, advice, either.” I said walking him to my room.
He leaned into the dresser and I held up the black sexy dress “This?” I asked before swapping and holding up the white one “or this?” I asked.
His eyes roamed over my face and then the dresses “depends on the event.” He said calmly.
I stared at the dresses “I uh- I called Casper on a whim and now I’m meeting him in an hour.”
I said nervously.
Jax and I looked to each other for a good two minutes before he stood and went to my closet pulling out the dark green dress that was low cut, tight and yet classy.
“Genius!” I said tossing it to my bed grabbing my diamonds and tossing them on the bed too.
I pulled on my heels and looked to see Jax going out the door. “Wait!” I said grabbing the dress and running into the bathroom changing into it and then going back out smiling at him “Looks good?” I asked.
He nodded “Just don’t get kidnapped and auctioned.” He said before walking out the door shutting it behind him.
I slid on my diamonds and headed out the door and down the stairs to the cars eyeing the door.
I own a Volkswagen.
“Where are you going?” Alison asked walking down the hall from her office.
Looking to my phone I stared at her “Casper, date.” I said sighing.
She smirked “Take my Mercedes.” She said giving me a wink and heading up the stairs.
I smiled soft and headed out to Jack who brought me the sexy sleek car.
Thirty minutes later I pulled up to the house and took a steady breath, I was buzzed in and I drove past the gates into the driveway.
Casper stood at the entry way taking my breath away with his brown hair brushed to the side, his soft hazel eyes and sweet smile.
My heart began racing and my stomach fluttering, it felt so crazy to be here again.
I parked and got out walking over to him sheepishly.
His eyes roamed down my body before he slowly dropped to his knees staring up at me laughing his sexy husked laugh.
Casper took my hand kissing the top of it “I’ve waited years for you to call.” He said shaking his head.
Casper pulled a bouquet of red tulips from behind his back and I gasped, tears wanting to sprout from my eyes “You remembered.” I said softly running my hands over the tulips.
He stood and ran a hand over my cheek “There’s not a detail about you that I could forget Norah Anne Brooks.” He smirked stepping closer to me as he studied my face before taking my hand and turning.
I walked with him up the steps and he guided me inside even though I could walk the whole home and know exactly where everything was.
We went to the living room and he sat on the couch with me, his eyes running down my dress, “You’re more fit.” He commented smiling.
I nodded “I actually wanted to talk to you about something Cass.” I said moving to my knees and turning toward him leaning my body into the cushion of the couch.
Casper nodded staring at my face with a serious look, “Anything my love, you need something? I’ll get you it. Want someone dead? I’ve got their tombstone made. Tell me.” He said looking my lips over with a smirk as I smiled.
God he’s insanely romantic, was he always this romantic? Geez.
I smiled and shook my head “Don’t you want to know why I left you?” I asked him curiously as he took my hand entwining our fingers bringing my hand to his lips and kissing each finger softly.
Casper leaned toward my face, “You fell out of love, wasn’t that why?” He asked me clearing his throat.
Leaning over, I took his lips softly, we kissed gently before his k****s got rougher.
I sat back pushing him off a bit “I uh, I had a man break in, and he forced himself on me. I was just so sad and so scared that I eventually pushed you away. I didn’t think you’d understand.” I said softly.
Casper sat back “You want me to kill him? I’ll kill him. What’d he look like?” He asked getting up and pulling his phone out.
I stood and placed my hand over his “I-I already did. I just wanted to tell you why I left you. It was never you, it was me, it was him.” I said sighing.
His eyes moved over me carefully “You killed a man?” He asked looking confused at me.
Nodding I took his hand pulling him back to the couch “Can you just, just k**s me.” I said taking his face and pulling it to mine.
He happily ran his lips over mine, his hands running down my body.
I m****d lightly as his k****s roamed my neck.
“Cass baby!” A girls voice came and I shoved Casper off sitting up and looking to him and then the woman.
She smiled at me with a sweet look “Oh don’t mind me love, I would join but I’m late for my yoga class.” She said holding a hand out to me.
I shook her hand staring at the giant rock on her hand.
He’s married.
Casper smiled at the woman and they kissed heavily before she walked out the door.
“You’re married.” I said calmly.
He nodded “Recently. We’ve only been married for a year. Took me some time to get over you.” He said smiling at me.
I eyed him confused “She knows…” I said pointing between us.
Casper nodded “When we married I told her if I ever met you again I’d be unfaithful to her. We set our own ‘freebies’. You’re mine.” He said smiling.
I don’t know if that’s romantic, stupid or revolting.
Nodding, I stood up “Okay.” I said calming myself.
Casper stared confused “Did I scare you off?” He asked eyeing me.
I looked to him and shook my head slowly “No but I think, I think I need to just go home. Yeah I should go.” I said going to the door.
“Norah, my love please, don’t go, please.” He said begging and taking my hand pulling my waist toward him.
Turning back at him I shook my head “I can’t Cass, I love you, I still do, very much. I think I always have. I just can’t be between two people. I’m sorry.” I said sighing and going out the door.
Getting in the car I rolled the windows down to get fresh air and took a steady and shaky breath.
Casper placed the tulips in my passenger seat “I love you Norah, I always will. You are my everything my love. All of it.” He said before moving to my drivers window taking my face and kissing me deep. His passion was insane, like almost override insane.
Maybe it’s what I need.
I put the car in park and shut the engine off putting the keys in the cup holder and stared at them for a moment before looking to Casper.
He opened the door slowly and I took his face carefully kissing him and he pushed the seat back.
We made out for a good thirty minutes before I couldn’t take the knot in my stomach and I gave him a light shove. “I can’t do this Casper, I can’t.” I watched him slowly step out the car.
His eyes moved to my lips “If I leave her?” He asked me with a scared look and a pleasing tone.
I furrowed my brows shaking my head “No, No Cass, don’t do that. I just I can’t love you, you shouldn’t love me either. You’re married Cass, married.”
He nodded holding my waist in one hand and my cheek in the other “And she’s okay with it.” He said watching my face expressions. God he’s so handsome, holy s**t he’s so hot.
I smiled at him leaning in and giving him a deep k**s, “I’ll try for you baby, but it’s going to take me some time to get used to this.” I said laughing nervously.
Casper smiled softly and kissed the top of my head, “Take the time you need, my home is always open to you.” He said looking me over “God you’re even more mesmerizing than I remember.” He laughed nervously.
I dropped my head laughing and blushing, his hand tipping my chin up “Drive safe, let me know when you get home. I’ll see you soon my love.” He said kissing my lips and stepping back shutting my door.
My heart was racing wild, but I looked to him and felt confused, but I felt adorned.
Pulling out, I drove to the home with the taste of his lips on mine. Parking the car in the garage, I hung the keys and made my way out the car lot.
I shut the garage and took my flowers inside smelling them and pushing open the door going inside.
Going to my bedroom, I placed the tulips in a vase that had fake flowers in it.
I showered and then laid in bed trying to remember the feel of his arms around me.
All these details, small and big about him began running through my mind. Like the way he hates the feeling of silk, but loves when I wear cotton or velvet. I remember how he loved to wash my hair for me and loved when we’d bathe together.
I never had s*x with him, yet I feel like I should’ve.
Even the first time he ever met me, he was a gentleman and told me he thought I was the most breath taking woman in the room. I was serving him as a waitress.
God, such a wild love.
He’s married…..
Married!
