The Ryland Boys -
Chapter 20
“Alright Norah, go back in the water and come out with a sexy look, like you’re eyeing the finest baseball players a*s you’ve ever seen.” Said the man shooting the photos, I think he’s gay.
I adjusted my fighting gloves, I eyed the nail polish making sure it didn’t chip and my leather bikini top to make my breast perkier.
Going back into the water, I came up looking over at the fake baseball players a*s “Yes Norah!”
Tossing one arm over my head and the other down by my waist I c****d a h*p taking a few more photos in the water.
I was then moved to a different setting with a pair of stilettos and my hair messy sexy in the bikini. They added the car in for show and I laid over it, did a couple leaning into it and then the last consisted of me in a ring with the fighting gloves on and fake sweat down my body.
I was leaning into the ropes sexy with major cleavage and a seductive grin.
After a good two hours of this, we sat in the back and went through every photo until we settled on the one of me walking out the water mid way with my hand running over the top of my breast and my eyes seductively staring into the photo lens. Then the other was me in the ring standing legs apart leaning into the rope with a similar seductive stare and major cleavage game.
“Can we do three? I’ll pay you an extra two grand.” Manny said looking at the one of me sprawled over the hood of the corvette.
I eyed it “Alright but how much for all of them?” I asked him.
Manny stared at each one “I’ll pay you fifteen grand for all three. That means three posters though.” He said, “And I get one.” He added smirking at me.
I laughed “Fifteen thousand?” I asked in disbelief.
He nodded.
I shook his hand “Sold.” I said looking over my photos.
The camera man added all the other photos onto a drive handing it to me before deleting them and leaving only the three main ones.
“I get two of the posters. One for Alison and one for me.” I said watching him nod.
Walking to the dressing room I eyed my dark and sexy eye makeup, it made my eyes look more hazel and honey then brown.
I pulled on the maxi dress and headed outside to my car eyeing the flash drive and then driving to the house parking.
Tossing Jack the keys I headed inside to see Alison “You did it!” She whisper shouted.
We headed to her office and she shut the door taking the flash drive “Can I see?” She asked.
I nodded and she put them into her laptop looking each one over, “Holy s**t Norah. These are unedited?” She asked and I nodded.
I showed her the three we decided on and she nodded “Oh god, the guys are going to die.” She eyed them.
Laughing I looked for the clock “Isn’t your dinner in a few hours?” I asked.
She nodded “Yeah I was going to wait to see the pictures first.”
The door opened and she looked to see Emily “Emily! Come here.” She said like a school girl with gossip.
Emily hurried over and then eyed the photos before gasping “Oh my god Norah, those are so hot!” She said eyeing me.
I smirked “Thank you.” I said proud.
We unplugged the flash drive and Alison headed out the house calling for everyone to be ready by five.
I went to my room tossing the flash drive on my vanity and listening to the loud shouting in the next room.
“I f*****g hate you Jax!” Lindsay said through tears.
The door slammed so hard it bounced back open and he shouted “Yeah just run off!”
Her foot steps hurried down the stairs and I walked out my room looking down the stairs and over at the open door, Carter slowly opened his door eyeing the open door cautiously.
Lucas did the same and I looked to Masons door and he was sticking his head out eyeing the open door too.
Jax’s door slammed shut and we all slowly went back into our rooms shutting the doors.
“f**k!” He shouted “f**k!” He shouted louder.
I pulled my dress off and changed into my dark red gown for the dinner slipping on my heels and some jewels.
The door opened and then I heard the footsteps before my door was opened “The spot. Where is it? I need to f*****g think.” He said running his hands through his hair.
I walked to my phone pulling it out and going to the maps placing a marker on the spot and then sending the location to Jax’s phone. “Just drive slow, please.” I said watching him go to say something before he looked to my feet and nodded shutting the door behind him softly.
He headed down the stairs and I waited to hear his car drive off.
Going out the room I eyed his door, should I have gone? No he needs space.
Let’s hope God protects him.
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
Going out the door I called for Lucas “Let’s go before your mom kicks all our asses.” I said watching him and Mason hurry downstairs.
Alison was waiting there for us, were supposed to meet her there.
Jax’s truck pulled up behind the SUV and I watched him sit in his truck staring straight for a while, going to his window I leaned in “You coming?” I asked him watching him shake his head while staring at the SUVs plates.
I nodded “Be safe Jax.” I said going to the truck and as Jax headed inside, I got Lucas in and watched Carter go to the seat by Lucas and Benson was driving this time.
Mason hurried to the passenger seat and I watched the door shut.
“I think I’m going for stay.” I said watching Benson look to the door “You sure?” He asked.
I nodded “I don’t think he should be alone, I have a feeling he’d get drunk and drive or do some dumb shit.” I said getting out.
Benson smiled softly “You’ll be missed.” He said before I shut the door and waved watching them drive off.
Going inside, I softly shut the door listening to the loud sound of heavy rock blaring through the speakers.
Someone’s still angry, Usually the scream helps me. I headed upstairs pulling on a camisole and pajama shorts washing my face off and going down the stairs to deal with my whining belly.
I headed to the kitchen and pulled out two steaks and some veggies.
Slicing up the bell peppers and asparagus, I tossed them into a pan sautéing them and then pan frying the steaks after seasoning them.
Wrapping two potatoes in foil, I placed them in a glass pot and put it in the oven.
Waiting a good ten minutes, I began prepping the plates and then pulled the potatoes out making two baked potatoes with everything on them. Putting a fork and knife on both plates I wrapped the plates with foil.
Taking the two plates, I placed one in the living room for me and then took the other with me.
Popping the caps off two beers from the bar fridge, I headed to the gym and watched him throwing his fists at the bag in anger.
I watched him for a few minutes before I pushed the door open and eyed the radio blaring the music.
Walking toward the wall, I leaned into it and watched him toss a few punches before noticing me.
He walked over to the radio turning the volume down and staring at me sighing “Why are you here?” He asked a bit agitated.
I held a beer out to him and he took it cautiously before drinking it “You need to be alone, I get that. You also need to eat though.” I said holding his plate out.
Jax stared at it and I placed it on the bench, heading out the gym and to my own dinner.
Turning on the tv, I flipped through the channels until I landed on Sandlot and decided to sit and laugh. I kept the volume low so I wouldn’t bother him or distract him from his rage.
Twenty minutes into my dinner, and the film, I heard the sound of his foot steps before he walked in and sat down on the couch. I didn’t say anything, I was scared he might flip the plate or shout at the world.
He pulled the small side table toward him and placed his plate down getting up and heading down the hall.
When he returned he placed an open beer bottle on my small table and sat at his seat.
“Thank you.” I said low and stern.
He didn’t respond, just ate his dinner and watched Sandlot with me.
After another twenty minutes, we’d both finished our dinner, I took both our plates to the kitchen washing the dishes off and placing them up to dry.
Making my way back to the living room with two more beers, I noticed he’d placed the tables back and was now sitting back with his eyes fixed angrily and thoughtfully at the tv.
I handed him another beer and took a seat on the opposite side of the couch.
“She f****d Nick.” He said calmly.
I looked to him cautiously, without saying anything.
His mom? He found out about his mom?
Jax looked so empty “Found her behind the house with him. Didn’t say s**t until this afternoon.” He said sighing.
He laughed to himself “She f****d my little brothers friend right in my own backyard.” Jax nodded rubbing his jaw.
I felt my heart pull for him, I couldn’t imagine how he felt. Well only because I only ever loved Casper that much and now I’m realizing he isn’t even a fraction of the man Jax is.
Stupid Jax.
“Drink up.” I said handing him my bottle too.
He looked over at me and stared for a while “You have a date for the ball Friday night?” He asked before drinking the beer.
I stayed quiet before he leaned forward “Yeah, I’m sorry. Should’ve guessed you’d have one.” He went to stand and I looked over at him “I’ve been waiting for Lucas to ask, but I might just be keeping my hopes up.” I said laughing lightly.
Jax eyed me and gave a small smirk, “Come with me. I’ll be your wingman.” He said looking to me.
You i***t, I don’t want you to be my wingman! Love me god dammit!
I laughed “Something tells me you’d be a horrible wing man.” I joked watching him stare with furrowed brows “I’m a great wingman.” He said.
Looking to the guy, I c****d an eyebrow “You almost killed Casper with your glares.” I said shaking my head.
Jax softened his face “I didn’t like the guy.” He said low.
I nodded “Because he’s got two girls?” I asked daring a look to Jax.
He stared at my lips, “Only an i***t would give you half his heart and attention.” Jax looked away blinking out of his trance, “You’re a good kid Norah, don’t date a guy who won’t give you his whole heart.”
Watching him as he stared at the tv, I nodded “You’re a good kid too Jax.” I said softly.
Jax gave a small nod “I get the hint.” He said eyeing the beer.
Looking over at him I added “If you’re serious about the ball, I’ll take you up on that offer.” I said nervously.
He softly smiled and gave a nod staying quiet.
I turned my attention from the tv and I looked over at him “Do you mind if I come to your fight Sunday?” I asked looking to him.
He looked down at me, “I uh, I figured you where coming anyways. I’d be offended if you didn’t come.” He said looking back at the tv.
I smiled softly and stayed quiet.
After a good thirty minutes, the movie was almost over and the front door opened to show Alison stumbling over to the stairs.
She waved at us drunk, “Goodnight kids!” She said before Mason picked her up and walked her upstairs.
Benson was drunk too, to my surprise and laughing about everything with Carter.
I eyed the two, both very drunk.
Jax got up helping his dad upstairs, Carter headed to the couch sitting and laying his head on my lap. “You should’ve gone, two of moms friends practically beat the Botox out of one another!” He said laughing and shutting his eyes.
I eyed Carter and then he began snoring.
Lucas walked over smacking Carters face “Get your stupid head off my girlfriend.” He said watching Carter slowly move to the other side of the couch watching Lucas in fear.
I picked Lucas up putting him in my lap.
He lifted the blanket he dragged over here and we curled on the couch.
I put scooby doo on and we watched a good hour before Lucas fell asleep snoring lightly.
Mason came down showered and in his pajamas, “Such a long a*s dinner.” He sighed and looked to Lucas.
Brushing Lucas’s hair back, I smiled down at him, the future mother in me praying I’d be the next Mary.
No s*x, just the baby.
“You want me to take him upstairs?” Mason asked softly as he pushed Carters legs off the couch.
Carter fell off the couch and walked up the stairs stumbling but eventually making it. His leg’s still casted, it’s funny.
I eyed Mason shaking my head “I love when he lays with me.” I said quietly.
Lucas dug his face into my collarbone and I let a small sigh out holding him closer “You love him don’t you?” Mason asked sitting beside me and staring between Lucas and I.
Giving a single nod, I smiled to him “I never had a sibling, but he feels like one to me.” I stared at Lucas.
Mason smiled “He needed a strong woman figure in his life. My moms good, but she’s never around and she never really gave us rules. Lindsay’s a mess. You’re what he needs.” He smirked.
I shook my head looking to Mason “I’m the one who needs him. I want one so bad, it practically aches my heart.” I said pushing back my tears.
He ran his hand over the back of my head “You’ll have some, if you realize you’re in your late thirties and need a s***m donor I’ll be one for you.”he said smirking.
Laughing I rolled my eyes “I hope one day I can have three.” I said running my hand over Lucas’s arm.
“You jumped right in that pool for him. Clothes and all. Absolutely no hesitation.” Mason commented watching me.
I eyed him “I had a gut feeling. Horrible gut feeling. The minute I stepped outside and he wasn’t there I was in a panic.” I sighed.
Mason smiled “You’re going to be the greatest mother this worlds seen.” He said standing up and walking over to me.
As I looked up at him, he took my face kissing the top of my head and ruffling Lucas’s hair “Don’t stay up too late.” He said before going up the stairs.
I admired Lucas for a good hour, wondering what my kid would look like, whether they’d have my personality or be different from me completely.
My mom and I are opposites.
Picking Lucas up, I walked him to his bed tucking him in and kissing his forehead going out the door and shutting it softly behind me.
I headed to my room eyeing the flash drive and putting it in the drawer by my bedside.
Let’s not leave that out.
