The Ryland Boys -
Chapter 28
“You got this baby.”
Giving him a k**s, I smiled and watched him smile wide down at me. His eyes on my lips as he leaned down taking another k**s. “Thank you Angel.” He said making my stomach turn and my unfaithful lying self.
Honestly, James is just too good for a shitty woman like myself.
I ran my hand down his chest and watched him head out the double doors as they called him. Jax gave Lindsay a small k**s before heading out the doors.
Lindsay rubbed her stomach and eyed me before walking out the doors.
She’s so annoyingly bitchy.
Going out the doors I took my seat and watched as James entered the cage with Jax following behind.
My heart was in my stomach now and I gripped Alison’s hand, she smirked “Just between us, who are you rooting for?” She asked into my ear.
I looked over at her “Jax, always Jax.” I said without even hesitating. My own shock taking me by surprise and Alison smiled cheering for Jax.
While everyone cheered everyone on, I just stood on the side watching and cringing at every shot that was punched.
As Jax tossed a hard punch to James, I held my face, and peaked through my fingers “Come on James!” I shouted biting my l*p as James smiled over at me and stood.
Jax held out a hand pulled James up, my stupid heart fluttering at the moment.
They bounced around for a bit before the first punch was tossed, Jax blocked it, his right arm blocking the punch while his left took a hook to James face.
Jax took a couple other punches and Lindsay whood and shouted “That’s my man!” Proudly.
I watched James fall to the floor and as he turned on to all fours spitting b***d, the referee blew his whistle.
Jax helped James up again and as James headed to his corner and Jax went to his own. I headed to James corner smiling at him through the cage “You okay babe?” I asked him.
He nodded and smirked “Worried about me already Angel?” He asked c*****g an eyebrow.
I laughed “I worry every time you step in the cage James. Try punching him with your right hand instead.” I said feeling like a traitor to Jax but I passed by Alison and stared at her “Tell Jax that James is going to try his right hand.” I said before going to the spot I stood before.
Staring at them carefully, I watched as Alison told Jax something and he nodded.
She gave me a look before sitting down.
Round two was more intense and ended with both guys stumbling around with bloody noses.
My legs where shaking wildly, I knew I wanted to scream for both but how do you root on opposing sides?
I sighed and kept my mouth shut instead.
As James tossed an uppercut, Jax went to block but wasn’t paying attention. Down Jax went, falling to his a*s and his head bounced off the ground.
f**k!
Holding my head I stared at James as the whistle blew, he walked to his spot leaving Jax on the ground. My mind thinking of how that bothered me.
Why didn’t he help Jax up?
James looked over at the crowd, his eyes landing on me, he looked me up and down not smiling or even winking. In fact he seemed angry.
Oh s**t, he knows I told…
Staying in my spot, I watched as they wiped their faces off and got some water before going back in for the winning round.
I was breathing quick, and I watched as James threw heavy and hateful punches at Jax. At first, Jax seemed a bit thrown off, but quickly dropped his politeness and dodged six out of ten punches. He threw two hard punches at James’s clavicle, and as James staggered back, I watched the pain on his face.
God dammit!
I’m sorry James…I’m so sorry.
James went to punch Jax, but Jax said something to him and then punched him hard in the face.
Jax watched as James fell back into the floor and left him down on the ground.
My heart aching, they definitely hate one another now.
f*****g hell.
As Jax was named the champion, I headed to the back to see James tossing his things in his bag. “James.” I said softly.
He ignored me and I felt my heart ache, “Please…” I let out a small shaky breath.
Going to take his arm, he waved me off and then turned around and walked me to the wall scowling “I trusted you! I f*****g trusted you Norah!” He said getting intimidatingly too close to my face.
My fear escalated, and I held my ground watching him glare at me breathing heavy “I loved you, and you f****d me over.” He said shaking his head and turning to walk away.
I took his arm and he gave me a shove, I stumbled back into the wall and held my stomach staring at him.
He eyed me and then turned to his bag “We’re done Norah.” He said firmly.
Jax walked over and turned his shoulder tossing a hard and insane blow to James’s face. I gasped watching James slump to the floor unconscious.
“Oh my god!” I said going to James on the floor.
Looking up at Jax I sighed “Why would you punch him? The guys just angry that I screwed him over.” I said standing and staring down at his knocked out face.
Jax stared at me “He shoved you.” He said before grabbing his own bag and walking out the double doors.
I watched him turn and look back at me “You coming?” He asked me staring at me as he held the door open.
Going toward him, I stared back at James one last time before headed through the crowd and to the front.
What a f*****g night.
We ended up at a restaurant and I ordered the only thing I could stomach, a damn BLT.
“Norah, you bummed your boyfriend dumped you?” Lindsay asked grinning at me.
I wanted to bash her head into my plate but I thought about how I’d starve the rest of the night.
Mason leaned forward “f**k off why don’t you?” He asked Lindsay who scowled.
Alison scowled at Lindsay “Do you just pick on Norah because you’ve got self esteem issues you’re unaware of?” She asked her thoughtfully.
Lindsay eyed Alison “Do you k**s a*s to her because you’re in denial about how old you look?” She asked c*****g an eyebrow.
Jax looked over at Lindsay, “Don’t talk s**t on my mom.” He said sternly.
She eyed him “Your mom started it, always standing up for Naomi.” She stated eating her dinner.
“Norah.” Jax corrected giving her a look.
Lindsay scoffed “Does it matter? We’re going to forget her name in a couple months anyways.” She said laughing.
No one laughed with her though.
Actually Alison did, but not for her, more like against her. “I doubt we’ll ever forget her.” She said winking at me.
I smiled softly and took a bite of my BLT.
Lindsay rolled her eyes “Your moms a lesbian.” she said low to Jax.
He put his fork down and stared at her intently “Well your ginger roots are starting to show.” Alison said low and smirked.
I watched Lindsay feel her hair as if she could feel ginger hair verses blonde. “Are not! I maintain it!” She said scowling.
Alison smiled “I’ve been thinking of some good names for your kid, if it’s a boy, chuckie and if it’s a girl pippi longstocking! Two famous ginger kids.” She said proudly.
Jax lightly smirked and stared at his mom smiling and dropping it. Lindsay shoved the table and I fell back in my chair covering my stomach as Lucas’s chair fell back hitting me with him landing on my legs.
“Norah!” Alison called jumping from her seat.
I sat up and smiled at her worried face and Jax’s frantic look “You okay?” He asked.
Nodding, I got up and fixed both Lucas’s chair and mine getting us both seated. “What? She fell. She falls all the damn time.” Lindsay said scowling at them.
They both stayed quiet and I eyed Lindsay “I hurt my rib again two days ago.” I lied watching Jax look at me confused but went with it.
He looked to Lindsay “It’s heeling so she has to be careful.” He said watching her shrug “I don’t care, she’s fought me with a broken rib. I’m not scared of hurting her a bit.” She said laughing.
Alison eyed Lindsay “Go and have that baby already so she can beat your face in again.” She said low.
I laughed with Mason and watched Lindsay eye us all “f**k you guys.” She said sighing and getting up. She stared back at Jax “Come on, ill drop you off at home. I need to go home and sleep in my own bed tonight.” She said.
Jax looked up at her “You can go, I’ll head home with them.” He said watching her stare for a while before nodding and giving him a disgustingly sloppy wet k**s.
Her eyes ran over me before she left and headed her stupid car.
“I really hate that girl.” Alison said scowling at the door.
Mason laughed “No one on this table loves her.” He said smirking at Jax.
I looked to Jax feeling taken back as he stared at me, his eyes focused on me and as we matched a stare, he dropped his back to his plate.
We finished our dinner with the talk of Masons game that’s tomorrow and I was glad that he was so excited.
By the time we got home, everyone was sleepy and ready to just pass out.
Except Jax who just wanted to shower.
I don’t blame him.
My phone rang and I stared down at the number, unknown?
Picking it up, I stared at my bed “Hello?” I asked low.
“Norah Brooks, they told me you’re a hard girl to track down, I guess not that hard. I’m glad I’ve finally got a hold of you. I’ve got a good sum of money for you and would like you to come in tomorrow morning to come settle this mess with me. Is nine good?” He asked getting straight to the point.
He must be that one guy my aunt was talking about.
I ran a hand over my stomach, my thoughts on raising this kid with no real money, alone and working while I lived in hotel rooms for seven years brought me to my next decision.
“Yeah I’ll come by.” I said distancing my thoughts, “Alright the address is thirty two C Avenue, seventh floor, Jefferson’s office.” He said sounding happy.
I smiled “See you there then.” I hung up and wrote down the address staring at it before sighing and showering.
The thought of today was too much and in response, I just went straight to bed.
Part of me wanted to delete my photos of James and rip the ones I had around the room, but that could wait till tomorrow.
