I walk slowly towards the room where Giovanna is, while in my head I’m thinking about the idea of how she got pregnant, if there was nothing between her and me since I was forced to go back to her. I try to remember if maybe I could have done something on a night where I had too much to drink or if she could have had the macabre idea of drugging me to provoke something like this, but all those theories vanish immediately. My hand is now on the doorknob and as I open the door her gaze meets mine.

-Izan,” Izan tries to step forward, but I hold up my hand to signal her to be quiet and close the door behind me, then approach her.

-For once in your f*****g life, be honest,” I say, and her eyes immediately glaze over.

-This is all your fault! You haven’t wanted to touch me all these months and just as men need to get even, so do women,” she explains.

-I don’t care if you’ve cheated on me with one or with a hundred, you know very well that you’ve forced me to come back to you. What I want to know is who the father is, because I won’t take care of it, I’m telling you.

His tears get stronger and stronger and I just keep on waiting, “They’re going to kill me… he warned me.

-Giovanna, I’m not playing, speak,” I demand.

-Batista…” He whispers.

-What? – I exclaim without being able to believe what I’m hearing -My brother? – I question and at this moment I feel disgusted.

-He held me back when you left me… we started seeing each other and the rest you can imagine,” he explains.

I feel my fists clench immediately because of the rage I feel right now and I can only lean towards her and look her straight in the eyes. “You won’t put me in your f*****g whims anymore, tell my bastard brother to take care of his son and you have the courage to talk to your father,” I sentence and without giving her time to tell me anything, I leave the room trying to remember that I’m in a hospital and I can’t do anything improper.

I never expected anything from my a*****e brother, I always knew he was scum, that my father had moulded him to his whim turning him into the same shit he was, but I never thought he could do something like that to me -Izan, how is my daughter? – Lorenzo asks as I walk out into the waiting room and continue walking, “I’m talking to you! – He shouts at me, making a lot of people look at us.

-Go and ask your daughter who she’s pregnant by and don’t get me involved in all this f*****g shit that is her life,” I say firmly and try to keep walking, but he grabs my shoulder to stop me.

-What the f**k are you talking about? – He questions.

-Talk it over with Giovanna and don’t f**k up my life any more,” I say and I move my body to make him let me go and I walk out of the hospital in a rage.

I walk feeling that my life has become a misery because of that spoiled little girl and now she’s pregnant by my brother… I lost six months of being with the woman I love, of seeing our baby grow up only for Giovanna to be screwing with my brother and now she’s pregnant by him. I’m so angry that I barely notice that I’m crossing the street without looking and if it wasn’t for the driver honking his horn, he would have run me over.

My steps lead me to the street in front of me where I see a car with its lights on that catches my attention – Izan! – I hear my name being called and when I look over I see Mateo.

-What are you doing here? – I ask in surprise and he smiles at me.

-My men were watching everything and saw the ambulance, we thought something had happened to you,” he explains.

-I’m fine, but I need you to get me out of this nightmare, I’ll give you all the information I found tonight, but I can’t stay one more day with that woman” I say and he looks at me in surprise.

-What happened? – He asks.

-She’s pregnant with my brother’s child, do you understand now? Either you take me to Mia or I swear I won’t give you anything I got. – I threaten.

-Izan, calm down, okay? – He asks me.

-No, I’m not calm, I’m serious,” I insist and he looks at me a little calmer.

-Come on, let’s go and talk somewhere quieter, okay? – He proposes.

-Let’s go.” That’s all I can say and then I get into his car, feeling like I’m burning inside with rage.
