CHAPTER 050

When we got up the following morning we had to do our usual morning work out and then I spent some time with Maisie training.

After we had lunch I went to have a shower and get dressed in some nicer clothes before I finally went back downstairs.

I was called to one of the sitting rooms on the first floor and when I walked into the room I

saw Avery standing there.

She walked over and hugged me, leaving Noah a little speechless.

"I've missed you."

"I've missed you too." I said.

"They weren't going to tell you that I was here."

"It's alright Noah. I called her last night. She can be here." I said. So he nodded his head.

Avery and I went for a walk out to the courtyard to look over the cliff at the ocean.

"So, that's the new security guard. I've heard about him but I didn't know he was so intimidating." She said.

"He's not that intimidating. Just a little overprotective." I said.

"Well, isn't that what you need in a personal guard?" She asked.

"Yeah. And a mate." I said, causing her to whip her head around and stare at me with her

mouth open.

"He's your mate?" She asked.

"One of them."

"What do you mean 'one of them?" She asked.

"Lucas is also my mate. Apparently." I said.

"Holy s**t. That's just f****d up." She said.

"Tell me about it. But there's nothing I can do about it," I said.

"I guess a lot has changed since I haven't been here." She said.

"You have no idea. Too much has changed."

"Well, I hear that you're really stepping up as a senior royal with your parents gone."

"Yeah. I didn't really have a choice in that either."

"I'm sorry that I haven't been here for you."

"It's alright. I know that you were caught between two friends.

"Well, not really. I mean, I've always been closer to you than I was to Chloe. I told them to tell you otherwise I would. But honestly, I didn't want to be the one to give you that news. I knew that it would crush you." She explained. "I just wish someone had told me instead of ignoring me and abandoning me." I said.

"Yeah. I wish things went down differently."

Anna soon came to the doorway to the courtyard informing me that I had a few meetings to attend to.

I rolled my eyes because these meetings were always so boring. I really hated them but there was no one else to attend except me.

Avery and I talked for a bit longer before she left and I had to get back to work.

I had meeting after meeting that afternoon and by the end of it, I felt mentally exhausted.

I went to the dining room where Noah was waiting and we all had dinner together tonight.

But as soon as dinner was over someone rang the doorbell.

One of the other servants answered it and they came to the door of the dining room with Lucas. 

"What are you doing here?" Noah asked.

"I was wanting to take Emma for a walk. Just the two of us." Lucas said.

Noah looked at me strangely. I could already tell what he was thinking, but I hadn't made up

my mind about Lucas yet. So I agreed to go for a walk with him.

Maybe a little one on one time with him was something that I needed to help me make up my mind.

"It's alright. I'll be back within an hour." I said to Noah. So he leaned over and kissed me.

"Mind link me if you get into any trouble." Noah whispered. So I looked at him and I slightly nodded my head.

I got up and I left the castle with Lucas.

We walked down the stairs outside and ended up in the field, heading towards the forest. 2/4

"So, what do you want to talk about?"

"I know that Noah is your mate and everything. But you are the Princess and you are meant to have more than one mate because you need that extra protection. Just like your mother." He said. 

"Yeah. I guess that does make sense. But if you want me to accept you as my mate then you have to prove to me that you can be trusted." I said.

"Yeah. I get that. I know that I really f****d up whatever trust you might have had in me. But I really want to try and make it work." He said.

"I know you do. But it's not that simple."

We started walking into the forest and it was so dense in the forest that it blocked out a lot of the moon light and became really dark.

But thankfully we had the werewolf night vision so it wasn't so bad.

"The whole bet and everything I did was just a d**k move. I know that. And I know that you

hate Levi now because he's mated to your friend." Lucas said.

"There's a lot more to that story than you realize. I don't just hate him because he's mated to my friend."

"I can imagine. It mustn't be easy though. I guess you probably wouldn't be able to stand much more betrayal."

"I think I've had my fair share for a lifetime." I scoffed.

Well, you're about to get more.

"What?" I asked, whipping around to look at him.

"I didn't say anything."

"You were thinking it. What more betrayal is there?" I demanded.

He stood there staring at me in shock for a while before I suddenly felt something sharp hit me in the neck.

I lifted 

my hand up to feel what had pricked me and I pulled a dart out of my neck.

I could instantly smell the wolfsbane on it and I looked back at Lucas.

"You son of a bitch." I said.

I started getting really uneasy on my feet and I was trying to stumble past Lucas and out of

the forest, back towards the castle. But the wolfsbane took effect really quickly and I fell to my 3/4

knees. 

I tried to get back up but all of my body was betraying me right now.

I fell on my ass on the ground and turned so I could lean up against that tree.

Lucas was standing over me and I saw Xavier walk over to him and pat him on the back for a job well done.

A couple other guys walked up behind them and grabbed me by each arm and carried me towards the border to get me out of there.

I tried to fight with whatever strength I had, but that didn't do anything.

I lost consciousness pretty quickly after that.
