ALPHA KING JOSH'S POV

"Is she angry or am I misinterpreting the red face?"

I asked Max through the mind link as Rose strolled out of the changing room right after I asked Nora if she had helped her find suitable training wear.

"The red face is a logo." Max stated and added. "Roses are red naturally, after all."

I rolled my eyes as I realized that my Wolf beast was making reference to the response Rose provided Nora earlier. My eyes stayed glued to Rose's body as she moved closer to the entrance with a glare plastered on her red face.

"My King, I was saying, I would like to thank you for saving me the other day."

Nora voiced, expressing her appreciation... To the wrong person of course. However, I admire her for being appreciative, unlike Rose who I saved myself.

"Are you comparing Rose to Nora now? Look at you smiling like a bear. No wonder Rose is red right now."

Max etched with distaste.

"What? She can't be glaring because I am interacting with Nora, one of my warriors and Rose has made it clear that she doesn't care, right?"

I retorted blindly, unknowing that I would pay a heavy price for my stupidity.

Nora muttered, breaking my daze just as Rose arrived beside us, "Can you hear me, My King?"

"Huh?" I hummed absentmindedly. My mind was dying to shift back to Rose and admire how lovely she looked in the short and small top she was wearing. "I said I would like to invite you out for lunch or dinner, anyone that fits your schedule just so I can thank you and also-"

Nora announced, causing me to frown as I corrected her, "Do you know that I wasn't the one that raced to the Healers, carrying your unconscious self? If you want to invite anyone out to show appreciation, it should be Beta Adam. He was worried about you." Nora's eyes widened but she didn't act shocked. It was as if she knew Adam was the one that actually saved her but she still thought she should thank me first because I was the King.

Max snorted, "You still have a lot to learn about women."

I didn't understand what he was talking about and I also smiled at Nora again, patting the part of her shoulder that was covered with the material of her romper so as not to trigger my allergic reaction. Nora seem like she still had more to say but Adam's voice broke into my mind, "Are you still coming to train with us? You are taking too much time for a man that doesn't pardon others' lateness."

"Show some gratitude, rascal. I just successfully created an opportunity for you to have your first date."

I replied to Adam.

He stuttered, "What does that even mean? By the way, I have been on numerous dates in the past." My Beta Claimed. Impossible. He had always been with me which meant he didn't have the time to date anyone.

"Don't lie, Adam. Your secrets are safe with me and we both know we are the same when it comes to women."

I responded and signaled to Nora and Rose toward the training ground. Nora quickly walked beside me while Rose walked behind me. She was probably mad about something but at that point, I couldn't figure out the reason she was permanently red. Adam responded to my comeback, "I am not lying. You must think I am a virgin like you. I have been with multiple women mostly at night because you kept me busy during the day but I have decided to change now so whatever date you were talking about won't happen. My mate would be the next woman I will be with."

I was stunned into speechlessness. Adam had even had sèx!

To save myself, I reminded him of the morning he found me in the forest after Rose came to me at night. "Do you recall? Unlike you, I have proven that I am not a virgin anymore. I had a good night that night and it happened again but you don't have to know that." "You can't be serious about this-"

Adam exclaimed in my mind and I laughed evilly, cutting him off as I strolled onto the training ground. As I walked closer to Adam, I could see the shock on his face. His eyes met mine quickly but he suddenly shifted his gaze to Rose who was still walking behind me. As I reached my position beside Adam, he mouthed, "I can't believe you had sex with her. Twice..."

I smirked but ignored him again because I knew he wasn't completely sure about the identity of my mysterious woman.

"Gather around, warriors!"

I called for my soldiers and they came to me. They gathered around, mixing together despitetgender difference. I couldn't see Rose anymore as she had been pushed back by the larger and taller bodies of warriors.

But I could still perceive her... Also, her anger persisted.

"Greetings, Alpha King Josh!"

They all greeted loudly in unison. I acknowledged them. I tried to make eye contact with as many as possible as I thought of a good way to let out my worries and also their worries.

They must have been worried after my brother visited the pack and territory yesterday. It was my duty as their Alpha King to ease their worries and prepare them for what was to come or what might be coming for us. What was coming might he be Alpha King Killian or any other- my brothers or not? I could just tell someone was coming for me. For my territory.

"But not under our watch, Josh."

Max shared his thoughts with me and pumped me with his motivating words.
