The Unwanted Luna
Their Mate, My Saviors Chapter 6

-POV

Ayame-

Conri stared at his brother and Edon stared back. It looked like they were having a conversation again and, at some point, Edon scoffed and leaned back on the couch. Maybe some kind of telepathy, triplet sixth sense thing?

"Now, back to the topic at hand." Conri chimed in and I looked back down at the jacket I was buried in. "Our territory is quite large, but the one thing that is for sure, no one camps out in the town you were in, and no one comes by train. Not to mention that you have nothing with you except for that small bag. You don't even have a jacket and there was a blizzard last night. So, I ask again. What happened to you and why did you end up in that town?" Conri continued. Was he questioning me?

I looked down at the jacket and started to fiddle with the strings. His emerald eyes reminded me of a dragon guarding his treasure...and I was the threat. I stared at the design on the strings and shock overwhelmed me. Was this Gucci?! "Sweetheart, I need you to focus." Edon said, resting his hand over my fiddling ones. Just one of his hands engulfed both of mine and brought my attention back to the brothers. Back to the man that was assessing my fate.

"I was umm...running away? Oh, where's my bag?" I said. When I looked at the three of them it was impossible to lie. It wasn't like I was scared of them like Richard. It was more like I felt the urge to be honest with them...to...to never disappoint them. I was successful with one, but the other two...? I felt like all I did was disappoint them.

"We have it downstairs. Now, who are you running from?" Conri asked.

I grit my teeth, trying my best to hide it from them. "Come on. You were doing so well." Edon encouraged.

"From my boyfriend." I muttered almost inaudibly.

All three of them froze and their nostrils flared. Something tells me they heard me and they didn't like what they heard. "Boyfriend?" They all growled. That's what they were angry about?

"Well, I should call him my ex-boyfriend. I think after all the scars he gave me, he should be more like a slave master than anything else."Visit FindNovel-.com to read the complete chapters for free. I gasped, slapping my hand over my lips again, instantly regretting the action as my lip throbbed. Did I really just say that out loud?! My thoughts immediately went to a dark place while Edon's eyes winced a bit and the other two froze.

Maybe they will get rid of me now that I accidentally said all of this. No...I don't want to be thrown away. More accurately, I don't want to be thrown away by them. "Please don't take me back there. I swear if you let me stay here, I'll earn my keep and you won't hear a peep out of me." I begged as I felt the bruises on my cheek burn with the contact and I could have sworn all three of their eyes turned jet black at my confession.

"He did this to you?" Edon asked, and he was not the nice man that carried me all afternoon. He was a completely different person consumed by vengeance.

I pushed further away from them and tucked my legs in front of me. I...I think I was really scared now. The question was if I was scared of them or scared that they might take me back. "Y-Yes...?"

"Yes or no, little one?" Conri said, even colder than before.

I nodded, not being able to formulate the words. "Name. I need a name." Vilkas said. This was the first thing he said out loud to me and I knew there wasn't room for negotiating with him. He was icy and calculated. Beyond terrifying, but still, he projected a protective vibe like Conri. I still felt, even through my current fear towards him, that he would never hurt me. I still felt that he was nothing like Richard.

I shook my head and he slowly stood to his feet and walked over to me. I closed my eyes and held my arms over my face, waiting to get hit or dragged somewhere like Richard used to do. In my defense, it was on instinct.

For a moment, I waited, and the room was too quiet. Nothing came. For a while it was silent. I slowly put my arms down and lifted one eye lid. Vilkas was kneeling on the ground in front of me and worry was all over his godlike features. "I...I don't want to talk about it. Please don't make me talk about it." I whimpered.

"Okay. I'm sorry." Vilkas said, and I could see the shock on his brothers' faces out of the corner of my eye while I assessed Vilkas's next move. Were they expecting him to do something completely different than the scene in front of them? Possibly. Was he going to hurt me? I still think that is unlikely. He slowly raised his hand to my cheek, and I flinched away. He hesitated before rubbing the tears away. I was crying again?

All of a sudden, Vilkas shook his head and stood to his feet abruptly, as if he had just realized what he was doing. His face turned rigid and emotionless again. I'm not too sure, but I'm going to take a wild guess and confirm that he isn't the one that will be approachable. Ever. He walked away from me and sat on the other side of Conri. "Okay then, next on the list is explaining why we are so drawn to you." Conri continued and he seemed like he was gaining control of himself. Edon was too, but Vilkas continued to furrow his brow and ignore me as he plopped his large body on the dark brown fabric making up the luxurious couch the four of us were sitting on.

I moved my eyes back to the leader of the group. At least that's what I assumed he was. He was the only one asking questions and the other two seemed to allow him to take charge. "Drawn to me?" I asked.

"Yes. If you haven't noticed already, Edon's need to comfort you. Skinship, wanting to protect you." Conri started. I nodded slowly. It wasn't like I hadn't noticed already. I was drawn to them. I never thought it would be reciprocated though. "That is all due to something called a soulmate."

"Soulmate?" The hell? Again, my mother's stories flashed through my mind. Her laugh and her smile with another man. A man I only knew when I was really young. A baby. He was my father. She always called him her soulmate. Maybe that is one in the same. "Yes, the three of us are your soulmates. Mates for short."

"Three of you?" I asked again. Momma only had one. From the looks of these three, I felt like I only had one too.

He smirked and nodded. "Yes. It is not unheard of for twins and triplets to have one mate to share in between them."

"Share?" I was freaking out, yes, but I knew - if given the offer - I wouldn't be able to choose just one of them. I knew, if given the offer, I'd want all of them. Is that what he meant? I took a deep breath as they all looked at me expectantly. Then, it just kind of blurted out. "What are you?" I said. All of these memories flashing through my mind.... The word soulmate. The way their eyes changed when they got angry. This is too close to what I was told as a child. How is it that I didn't see this until now?

The smiles on their faces made me think they were begging me to ask this. It only made sense to ask this. I'm going to go from one crazy person to three - possibly - crazy people? I mean I'm happy that I'm not freezing to death, but I'm also terrified of what I just walked into. "Well, I am a lycan, Edon is a werebear, and Vilkas is a werewolf, but you are a human." Conri said. "But I'm starting to think, for a human, you know a lot more about us than normal."
