The unwanted wife’s unexpected comeback -
Chapter 110
Chapter 110:
Alicia's consciousness wandered aimlessly. A heavy rain was falling and, under the emergency building, a small figure was huddled tightly.
Alicia approached, curious to know who it could be. As soon as she saw him, her jaw dropped. It was Caden.
But this Caden looked nothing like the man she knew. He always had an air of arrogance, greeting everyone with a cold and disdainful gaze. He was constantly at odds with her.
Now, Caden was kneeling in the rain, staring into the hospital entrance. His body seemed weak, completely consumed by grief and despair. His face had lost all color under the downpour.
The wind blew strongly, making him stagger. Alicia couldn't take it anymore. He shouted: Get out of the rain!
But there was no response.
Caden stayed where he was, motionless, like a statue. Alicia touched herself, realizing that her body had become transparent. As he tried to make sense of it, a group of people came out of the hospital.
It was the Yates family.
The family servant held an umbrella, keeping Joshua dry from the rain. Joshua walked with his parents, hand in hand, exuding an air of privilege.
When he saw Caden kneeling in the rain, a smug smile appeared on his face. He walked towards him, his steps sure.
Caden, Joshua shouted at him. Stop kneeling. Your mother is dead.
Alice felt her anger rising inside her. Joshua's smug expression made it worse.
You don't understand, Joshua sneered, walking over and kicking Caden. Your mother is dead! Why are you still kneeling
Caden collapsed to the ground after the kick.
Alicia tried to reach out and help him, but her hands went through him. Only then did she realize that she was powerless to help him.
When Joshua prepared to kick Caden again, Alicia instinctively stepped in front of him. Joshua, stop… Before she could finish, a lump formed in her throat and she suddenly vomited a large amount of water.
The pain brought her back to consciousness. A sharp, painful sensation spread through her body and forced her to moan. She struggled to open her eyes.
When her vision finally cleared, she saw the person in front of her: it was Caden.
Alicia was shocked to see him. I could only stare at him in disbelief. The Caden in front of him did not look like the one in his dream. He seemed older, more serious. His eyes held something she couldn't understand. His thoughts scattered as he took her hand.
Caden... whispered.
Caden stopped, but without thinking twice, he pushed her hand away, without hesitation.
Alicia was paralyzed. He wanted to speak, but the words wouldn't come.
This was no longer a dream.
It was reality.
Here, Caden was irritable, unpredictable, He got angry quickly. It was not the same as the pitiful figure in her dream.
Is he conscious, someone asked, leaning closer.
Alicia was still dazed. He slowly turned his head and realized that, in addition to Caden, a group of people had gathered. The wealthy ladies were there to check on him. Each one had a different expression, but none of them seemed really worried. They were here for the show.
The person who spoke was Rachel.
It was one of the suitors.
Caden wiped the water off his clothes, his illegible face. Do whatever you want, he said flatly, before walking away.
Alicia didn't expect Caden to act so distant, and it left her confused.
What the hell is wrong with him, she thought, increasing her tone. frustration. I'm already in a terrible state, and he's still so petulant. What the hell is wrong? She cursed inwardly.
Rachel immediately called an ambulance, her face covered in worry as she approached the bed.< /p>
Mrs. Bennett, is he okay? Rachel asked, feigning concern.
Alicia remembered what had happened before she fainted and instinctively pushed Rachel's hand away.
Noticing the change in Rachel's behavior Alicia, Rachel softened her tone. Don't worry. I'll make sure those kids are punished. They will not suffer for anything.
Alicia's expression remained expressionless. Go away, please. I need some time alone.
Raquel hesitated, her concern still evident. The ambulance is on the way. "We're calling Mr. Yates," Alicia snapped, her voice hoarse and high-pitched with anger. Why would you do it
Raquel continued, trying to calm her down. I know that you are divorced and that you are no longer his wife. But after something like this, it's only fair that I come to see how you are.
No need! Alicia's words were full of frustration, tinged with anxiety. Don't call him.
Raquel was confused. Why don't you want me to come.
Alicia's face hardened. Why would I want to?
You called him several times while you were unconscious, Raquel pointed out. Now is not when you need him most.
Alicia did not know what to answer.
She had really called Joshua
She vaguely remembered feeling emotional in the dream, but it wasn't because I missed him. In fact, he had cursed him.
He put his fingers to the bridge of his nose, trying to calm himself. My situation has nothing to do with Joshua. If you want Lilliana to create chaos, call her. But be prepared for the consequences.
As soon as the words left his mouth, the image of Caden's stern expression filled his mind.
Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind. .
She had misinterpreted everything
Without wasting another second, she got out of bed, determined to find him.
