The unwanted wife’s unexpected comeback -
Chapter 553
Chapter 553:
However, the chip had come from Yolanda, who had suffered under Caden as well.
Was it possible she was collaborating with him?
“It’s not that there isn’t a solution,” Corey said through clenched teeth.
He then added, “However, we need to find Alicia.”
The secretary suggested, “What if we pay her to help us?”
Corey felt a surge of anger.
“She’s with Caden!”
The secretary fell silent.
Corey was still seething, so the secretary chose to remain quiet.
However, the silence was soon interrupted by a knock and the entrance of another person.
This individual paused, casting several glances at Corey, unsure of what to say.
The secretary, growing impatient, said, “If you have something to say, just say it!”
The person remained silent.
Corey’s brows knit together in frustration as he asked, “Are you looking for trouble?”
After a moment’s hesitation, the person finally spoke.
“Mr.
Hampton… Mr.
Ward’s assistant just called.
They’ve invited you to dinner tonight.”
Corey was taken aback.
Dinner?
With their business rivalry, what could there possibly be to discuss over a meal?
Surely, this was an opportunity for Caden to boast about his new product’s success or to mock him.
The secretary sensed the underlying challenge too, a shiver running down his spine.
Realizing that anger wouldn’t solve anything, Corey sent everyone away to gather his thoughts alone.
He needed to figure out a solution.
But shortly after everyone left, Corey’s phone began to ring.
He knew Caden was on the other end.
He knew he should ignore the call.
But to not answer might be seen as a sign of weakness.
As the phone was about to stop ringing, Corey picked up.
Caden’s smooth voice greeted him.
“Mr.
Hampton, are you free?”
Corey felt an immediate headache brewing.
He wanted nothing more than to confront Caden directly.
“Congratulations, Mr.
Ward,” Corey said stiffly.
“You’ve scored another success.”
Caden responded casually, “I’ve been making significant profits consistently.
It’s almost routine for me now.
The numbers keep increasing, but they’re just digits on a screen after all.”
Hearing this, Corey lost any interest in continuing the conversation.
It was clear that competing with Caden was as challenging as Corey had feared.
“You didn’t call just to brag, did you?”
Caden’s tone was casual as he replied, “I know you’re struggling with your robot issues.
If you really can’t find a solution, I might be able to help.”
Corey asked, “Would you involve Alicia in this?”
