Chapter 147

Alissa Soleil's POV

I woke up to a knock on my door.

I fluttered my eyes open and then rubbed my eyes sleepily.

I pushed myself up and I sleepily walked to the door and opened it.

"Good morning" Luke's greeted with a smile.

I looked back to look at my clock then looked at Luke again.

"What are you doing here this early? I still have like 30 minutes to sleep" I pouted.

"Oh sorry. I wanted to come before my family of ever you needed help with preparing for the day" he said.

I sighed.

"Just 20 more minutes" I said and didn't close the door so Luke can come in.

Luke came in and I went back to bed.

"20 minutes then wake me up" I muttered with closed eyes.

"Okay" Luke responded.

I napped for 20 minutes until Luke woke me up again.

I yawned and got up.

I should prepare for today.

Today, we're going to the beach with everyone.

The day has barely started and I already know how tiring it will be.

"Get out. I'm going to take a shower" I told Luke.

"Okay. Call me if you need help" he said and I just gave him a look. "Out" I said.

Luke nodded and went out and shut the door.

I got inside the bathroom and I took a shower.

After that, I dried myself off, wore a robe and I did my routine.

I got out of the bathroom and I blow dried my hair.

After that I wore a white solid ruffle hem cami dress paired with my white flat sandals.

I then curled my hair into beach waves then I put a little bit of makeup on my face.

Once I was done, I checked the things I was bringing.

Once that was all settled, I grabbed my bags and went out to the living room.

Just on time, everyone arrived at the agreed time.

"Ali" Luke said and immediately got my bags from me.

"Don't carry heavy bags" Luke said.

"It wasn't even that heavy" I said.

Everyone chuckled.

"Raise your hand if you agree that Luke is too much" Lia teased and everyone raised their hands to tease Luke. We all laughed when Luke frowned.

"Let's go?" I said and they nodded.

We made our way out of the house and a familiar car stopped in front of the house and someone got off.

I smiled when I saw him.

"Calum" I said and I went to Calum.

Cal and I hugged each other.

"Am I late?" he asked.

"No. You're just in time" I told him and he smiled.

Then, we looked back at everyone who was staring at us.

Well, Luke was glaring.

"Come. I'll introduce you to my family" I said.

Cal nodded and we walked over to everyone.

"Everyone, this is the good friend that I've been telling you all about. This is Calum. Calum, this is my family" I said. "Oh its him" Lia said.

I nodded.

"Cal, let me introduce everyone one by one" I said.

I started with my parents.

"Cal, this is my mom and this is my dad" I said and pointed to mom and then Axel.

Mom shook hands with Cal with a smile.

"Thank you for being with my daughter and for accompanying her all this time" she said.

"Sol-Alissa was always there for me as well so I'm really thankful for her presence as well" Cal said to my mom.

Then, Axel shook Cal's hand and I saw him squeeze it and Cal's jaw clenched probably because it was tight but he didn't want to say anything about it m "Dad" I lightly scolded.

Axel relaxed a bit.

"It's nice to meet you, sir" Cal said but Axel only nodded at him.

And I thought Axel would be really nice to Cal since he said he liked him for me before.

I guess not.

"Then, this is Liana, my bestfriend and this is her husband, Eero and their 3 lovely kids, Asila, Eeri and Astro" I introduced Lia and her family

"Hi" Lia said and was about to hold Cal's hand but Eero intercepted it and shook hands with Cal instead.

Lia just gave Eero a stink eye then looked at Cal again.

"It's nice to finally meet you, Calum. I've heard really good things about you from Ali" Lia said and Cal glanced at me.

"I'm glad. It's nice to meet you too, Liana" Cal said with a smile.

Then, he looked at the kids but they were too shy to talk to Cal which Cal respected.

"Then, this is aunt Livi, dad's good friend and my favorite aunt and uncle Luan, her husband" I said.

Aunt Livi smiled at Cal and shook his hands.

"Nice to meet you, Calum" aunt Livi said.

"The pleasure is mine" Cal said and aunt Livi smiled.

Uncle Luan also shook Cal's hand and they said hello to each other.

After that, Cal gave Ma a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Now that everyone is acquainted, shall we get going?" I said.

Everyone nodded.

Luke and his family got a private bus and we all got inside the bus.

I chose a seat and Luke immediately sat beside me only to be pulled by Bryan.

"Nope" Bry said and sat down beside me instead.

I chuckled.

Luke frowned and was going to sit down on the seat beside us but Calum already sat there.

He looked at Cal with a glare but Cal ignored him.

"Move" Luke said.

Cal kept ignoring him.

"I said " Luke was going to say something but I tapped him and he looked at me.

"Play nice" I said with a slight warning tone.

Luke's jaw clenched and he sat down beside Calum.

Cal looked at him with a stink eye and it was the funniest thing I've seen all day.

Cal looked at me and I smiled at him.

He sighed and just continued to ignore Luke beside him.

Everyone settled down and the bus drove off.

"Do you think they'll kill each other before we get to the beach?" Bry whispered to me.

"Cal isn't werewolf. Did you forget that?" I whispered back.

"Oh yeah. I guess only one them is going home" Bry said with a shrug.

"Bryan!" I lightly scolded and he laughed.

I looked at Luke who was looking our way.

"Don't you dare think about it" I said under my breath knowing he'll be able to hear it.

Luke just smirked so I glared at him.

"I'm serious, Luke" I said.

He sighed and frowned then looked in front.

I stayed awake the whole ride because I wanted to make sure that Luke and Calum wouldn't fight during the way.

Thankfully, they only sat awkwardly beside each other.

After some time, we finally arrived at the beach location.

Everyone got off and the kids squealed in excitement.

"The beach looks so pretty" Lia commented.

"It does" I said.

Ma and I have been here a few times before and in other beaches as well in the span of 13 years.

It's really refreshing to be here.

Luke stood on my right side and Cal stood in my left as we all looked at the beach.

Lia turned around and saw us.

She chuckled and walked up to me.

"What an interesting trio" she commented and looked at Luke to annoy him.

Luke frowned at her.

We all walked to the beach and the guys set up the beach umbrella and the blankets on the sand.

Lia, Ma and aunt Livi looked after the kids and I watched from the distance as they played.

"You okay? You didn't sleep in the bus" Cal came up to me.

"Yeah well I was looking after you and Luke" I said.

"Why would you look after us? We're not kids. We wouldn't fight in the bus over nothing. At least I won't" he said with a smirk.

I chuckled.

"Are you tired? Sleepy?" he asked.

I shook my head.

"I think I'm fine for now" I told him and Cal nodded.

Then, Luke came and of course he stood on my other side.

"Are you hungry? Do you want to eat anything?" Luke asked me.

I remembered I prepared a few snacks last night.

"I prepared sandwiches and fruits last night. Can you get me some of those?" I said.

Luke nodded and he took a glance at Cal then walked away to get me food.

Cal looked at him then he looked at me.

"How is he to you as a partner?" Cal suddenly asked.

"Partner?" I said.

"How does he take care of you? Is it still the same from before" he asked.

I thought about it.

"No. It's a lot different now" I told him.

"Different how?" Cal asked further.

"Well, before we were a married couple and the way he cared for me was like a dotting husband. Now, he has his limitations and boundaries that I've set for the both of us. He still goes through great extents to provide me with care that I need though" I explained. Cal nodded. "And how do you feel about that? Do you like it that way or do you want him to do more?" he said.

I looked at Cal for a moment.

Before I could answer, Luke came and he gave Cal a look before giving me a sandwich and a small container with mixed fruits.

Cal and Luke looked at each other for a moment and I could feel the tension between them.

I knew it wouldn't be easy for these two to get along.

Then again, Calum is protective of me and Luke is more on the possessive side.

I'm not surprised why they keep acting this way.

"You two. Quit it and help us here" Bryan called them.

They both sighed and got up then went to Bryan to help.

Then, Liana walked over to me while holding Astro.

"Hey" I greeted her with a smile.

"How are you feeling? Do you feel okay?" she asked and I nodded.

"I'm fine. What are you all so worried about?" I said with a chuckle.

Then, I looked at Astro.

"Hi, cute baby" I said and he slightly giggled.

"Can I hold him?" I asked and Lia nodded.

Lia gave me Astro and I held him.

"Hi there, little one" I said and he giggled again.

He's so cute.

"Did you and Luke talk about what you'd name the baby and when you guys will shop for baby stuff?" Lia asked curiously.

"We've mentioned it before bit haven't really gone into detail about it. Maybe next time that we talk in private, I'll bring it up" I said. "You guys better. You don't have long until you give birth" she said and I nodded.

She's right.

We really should prepare the essentials by now.

My due date is just around the corner and I want to be prepared for the baby to come.

We don't even know the gender yet.

I will have my next check up soon and we'll know then.

After setting up, everyone started to play and swim in the beach.

I sat on the shade watching them.

We booked an accommodation for later until tomorrow and it's a few minutes away from here.

We'll go there by lunch time.

"Don't you want to join them?" Luke asked me.

I shook my head.

"I'm fine here. I like watching them more" I said.

Luke nodded.

"Later after dinner, we should talk" I said.

Luke looked at me.

"The baby is coming soon. We should start planning on getting stuff for the baby" I said and Luke nodded.

I continued to watch everyone until Lia came and she pulled me to join then so I did.

It was a wonderful day at the beach as everyone laughed and giggled as we enjoyed the sand and water beneath our feet.

After a few hours on the beach, we all headed to our accommodation via the private bus.

We arrived there after a 15 minute drive.

We all got off and headed inside.

It was a big house with a big pool in the back so the kids really liked it.

We ordered food and had it delivered.

Then, we ate lunch together and talked about everything that happened in the beach.

The women really liked Calum while the guys were neutral with him.

After lunch, I felt tired so I excused myself to go to my room and I napped.

It's been such a fun day so far but I really need to sleep.

I slept in a room and woke up a few hours later when everyone prepared snacks.

We all gathered in the living room and watched movies together until dinner.

The guys cooked barbecue and we ate that for dinner.

I had a lot of energy now since I was able to sleep earlier.

After dinner, everyone went to the pool and took a swim.

Luke and I on the other hand went to the front yard to talk about our plan for the baby.

We sat down and looked up at the sky.

"We should probably shop for the things we need before you guys go in a few days" I suggested.

"I think that's better too than waiting for the next week that I'll come" Luke said.

I nodded in agreement.

"Do you have a name you want for the baby?" Luke asked.

I nodded.

"I actually do but I'll tell you once we know the gender" I said.

Luke chuckled and nodded.

We talked more about what we think we'll need when the baby comes.

Luke suggested Ma, Bry and I consider moving to a bigger place but I didn't want to leave our house because I knew Ma would agree to move but she'll be sad to leave.

Also, I preferred it if the baby stayed with me in my room for a whole because I felt I'll feel that our child will be safer that way.

After the baby talk, Luke and I looked up at the sky.

"You know, whenever I looked at the starter I always wondwr which star Reeva is" I said.

"She must be the brightest and prettiest one" Luke said.

I smiled.

"I miss her, Luke. I know we never got to meet her, but I feel like I've known her my entire life" I said.

"I miss her too. Every day" he said and we looked at each other with sad eyes.

"Wherever she is, I'm sure she knows that she's loved and remembered" he assured me and a tear fell from my eye.

Luke held my face and wiped the tear away.

He leaned in and kissed my forehead.

I hope so too.

I hope our Reeva knows how much we miss her and how much we love her.

Then, Luke held me in his arms under the starry night as we both remembered our daughter.

At that moment, I felt safe and warm in his arms.
