Alissa's

POV

"Lia?!" I came rushing to Lia's room as I sat down on the bed with a frown on my face.

"What's wrong?" she asked worried as she held my face and I pouted.

"I got into another argument with Luke" I said.

Lia tilted her head to the side.

"What? Why? For what reason?" she asked.

I sighed.

Earlier, Lia and Lucas left before Kalil and I since they had to run errands and so Kalil and I continued training together without them.

It was all good until I went back to the palace and Luke was waiting for me with a frown on his face.

He said that he saw me with Kalil and he was upset for whatever reason.

I assured him that Kalil is harmless and all and that only resorted to an argument because he wanted me ti stay away from him.

But I can't do that to.

Kalil is a really good friend of mine.

He always has and he always will be.

I don't know what Luke is so worried about since there's really nothing going on with me and Kalil.

Not even back then amd specially not right now.

That's just absurd if he thinks that there's something between Kalil and I because there's nothing.

I can assure that and Kalil too so why does Luke have to get all so worked up over nothing?

"It was about Kalil. He saw me training one on one with Kalil and he got upset and told me to stay away from Kalil" I said.

"And you said what?" Lia asked curiously.

"Of course, I said no. Why should I stay away from one of my closest friends here? Kalil is a big part of my life ever since I met him. Just like how you're a huge part of my life. Luke asking me to stay away from Kalil is like asking me to stay away from you. Do you get what I mean?"I said.

Liana nodded.

"Surprisingly, I do get what you mean" she said nodding in realization.

"Why do you think Luke is trying to make you stay away from Kalil?" Lia asked.

"I...maybe he uh...." I wanted to say it was because he was jealous but I wasn't exactly sure if it really was that because Luke didn't directly say it was that and it was too embarrassing to say even on my part. "Was it because he was jealous?" Lia asked.

I looked at her as I flushed red.

"Figures" she said chuckling.

Liana gave me a pat on the back.

"I'm not siding with Luke or anything but I think I can understand why Luke reacts that way and there can only be 2 reasons why" she said.

"Either his wolf or jealous which is inevitable because we both know how possessive wolves are in nature or maybe it's all Luke" Lia said with a shrug.

My brows furrowed a little.

It's all Luke?

"What does that mean?" I asked.

Liana looked at me and shrugged.

"I don't know. You tell me" she said teasing.

I pouted at her and she just laughed at me.

I sighed and Liana caressed my back.

"I don't know if I should be sorry or not to Luke because it feels as if I'm choosing Kalil over him when in reality, all I want is for him to understand that Kalil is like family to me and nothing more" I said. "Well, are you?" Lia said and I looked at her.

"Are you choosing Kalil over Luke?" she said.

I shook my head.

"No, Lia. Of course not" I denied.

"Maybe if it was before I eventually got to know Luke little by little, maybe I'd say yes but now? No, I'm not choosing anyone over someone" I told her.

"Luke is my mate and Kalil is basically my guy bestfriend and a brotherly figure to me and if that's not enough explanation then I really don't know what is" I said.

"Maybe it's not all about you, Ali" Lia stated.

I looked at her confused.

"Maybe Luke sees or feels something more between you guys and maybe that's why he's acting like this" she explained.

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

Liana sighed.

"You used to fancy Kalil but you eventually got over it. That might be the minor issue in all of this since it was already in the past and Luke's only concern is it happened and he's just worried it might happen again but the major issue is something else" she said. "What's the major issue?" I asked curiously.

Liana looked me straight in the eye.

"Have you ever asked Kalil how he felt or how he feels about you? Then and now?" she said.

I tilted my head to the side curiously.

"Why should I? Kalil only ever considered me as his friend and little sister" I said.

"He told you that?" Lia asked.

I nodded.

"He did" I said.

"When?" Lia asked further.

I thought about it.

"When I was 13, I think" I told her.

Lia massaged her temple

"What?" I asked confused.

"Your data is a bit outdated, love. I think you might need to follow up on that" she pointed out.

"What? No. Why would I even ask such an uncomfortable question to Kalil? No" I refused.

"Uncomfortable? It might be but just to you, Ali" she said.

I pouted.

"Are you afraid to know the truth?" Lia said.

I sighed.

"You do realize that even after years of being infatuated with Kalil, I never confessed to him right now? And that's because I don't want to ruin the friendship that we had" I said.

"Do you really think that I should bring it all up now and risk years of friendship?" I sighed.

"So you are unsure of how Kalil actually feels about you?" Lia said.

I looked at her then looked away.

"That's not it" I said.

"Lia, you're confident that you've already moved on from him. You know what you feel deep inside but you're unsure how Kalil actually feels no matter how much you know him" she speculated. But Lia was wrong.

I wasn't unsure because I didn't know Kalil well enough.

I was unsure because I did.

I know Kalil enough to realize that the way he looks and cares for me was far more special than just a friend.

But I like to think otherwise.

Because I treasure our friendship more and I don't want to lose him over feelings of infatuation.

Specially now that we both know our boundaries.

I'm bonded with Luke.

Yes, we don't get along and we fight often.

Okay, maybe more than often but still.

I want to keep convincing myself that Kalil doesn't like me that way.

I don't want any complications between him and I.

And most definitely do not want complications between him, Luke and I.

I just know it won't be good if the 3 of us end up in a tight spot because of this.

I value Kalil and I's friendship and I respect Luke and I's bond.

I sighed.

"I don't know what to do anymore. I never had to deal with this kind of thing when I was a rogue or when I was in Sol" I said.

Lia chuckled.

"You never dealt with boy drama when you were in Sol?" she asked.

I nodded.

"Everyone there was either just a friend or an elder" I said.

"You sure?" she said.

I nodded.

"I'm pretty sure" I said confidently.

"I don't think so, Alissa" she said and I looked at her confused.

"I'm pretty sure one of the guys there really likes you. Like likes you likes you" he said.

"Me?" I said.

Lia nodded.

"What? No" I denied.

Liana shook her head at me.

"You're just too densed, Alissa" she said.

"Hey!" I whined.

Lia chuckled.

"Look, Ali" she said.

"I think before anything, you should probably talk to Kalil" she told me.

"Talk about what?" I asked.

"Talk about how he feels about you" she said.

I didn't reply to that.

"When you figure out amd confirm how he feels about you, you'll understand why Luke keeps acting this way" she said.

"I'm not trying to justify my brother's action and all cause he tends to be over the top but I do think that he still has his reasons" she told me. Updated by FindNovel.net

"Will you talk to Kalil about it?" she asked.

"I'll think about it" I said.

Lia frowned at me.

"I don't know what to do with you anymore, Alissa. I love you and all but sometimes I do want to pull your hair to get some sense into you" she said.

I pouted and we both chuckled.

After that, I left Lia's room.

I didn't go back to my room immediately.

I went to the balcony.

I stayed there for a while.

"What's bothering you?"

I turned around to look and saw Lucas.

I slightly smiled at him.

"Hey" I greeted him

"Hey" he greeted back amd stood beside me.

"You seem like you're in deep thought" he pointed out.

I chuckled.

"I am" I said.

"What is it?" he asked.

I sighed as I looked in front.

"Your brother and I just got into another argument. It had something to do with Kalil. He wants me to stay away from him" I explained.

Lucas nodded.

"And?" he said.

"I can't do that to Kalil and I'm trying to convince Luke that nothig is going on between us and he has nothing to worry about" I told him.

"And what did Luke say?" he asked.

"He's not having any of it" I said.

Lucas chuckled and I sighed.

Then, Lucas pat me on the back.

"My brother is just jealous. It's normal. You guys will eventually resolve it. Hopefully" he said.

I sighed and nodded.
