Chapter 64

Alissa's POV

I fluttered my eyes open as I carefully moved to not wake up my sleeping brother beside me.

I turned my head to look at the window amd saw the familiar way.

We were almost at Sol.

I smiled at the thought.

Bry snuggled closer to me and I caressed his head.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked up at me.

"Ali" he said ans rubbed his eyes.

"Hi, buddy" I sais qnd planted a kiss on his forehead.

"Where are we?" he asked.

"We're almost there" I said.

Bry smiled as he turned around to look then he looked back at me again and snuggled back to me.

"Yey" he said sleepily.

I chuckled and turned to look at the sleeping Lia and Denisse.

I smiled as I watched them asleep.

I'll wake them up a little later.

After a few minutes, I lightly shook Lia and Denisse.

"Hey. Wake up" I said softly.

Lia opened her eyes first and looked around.

"Where are we?" she asked sleepily.

"We're almost at the pack. I recommend looking outside. You'll see how beautiful the path is to Sol" I said.

Then, Lia also woke Denisse up and Denisse looked out the window.

"We're almost there" she said.

We are almost there.

Liana watched out of the window and moments later, I heard a gasp from her.

I smiled.

"Oh my" she muttered as we went off the road.

The whole time, Liana had a mesmerized look as she appreciated the view.

The view to the palace was grand. That's what she's used to.

The path to Sol was a little different. It was more natural and still breathtakingly beautiful.

"We haven't even arrived at the Sol territory yet but wow" Liana said with a wide smile on her face.

The car ride to Sol continued on until we finally reached the pack borders.

The bus in front of us stopped and so did our car.

I saw the Alpha come out so I did to.

Bry held my hand and Lia and Denisse also came out of the car.

I immediately noticed guards by the oack borders but they weren't Sol guards.

They were royal guards.

What are royal guards doing here?

I turned to a guard that we were with.

"Aren't they royal guards as well?" I asked.

The guard nodded.

"Yes, milady. They are in fact one of us" he said.

My brows furrowed a little.

"What are they doing in Sol then? It seems like they were here way before us" I said.

"Oh you didn't know?" Denisse suddenly said.

I raised a brow at her.

"Didn't know what?" I said.

"There have been royal guards coming and going to help guard the pack ever since you left. They normally go in a group and stay for a week and two then another group will come to replace them. It's a cycle" she said. I was confused.

"They even have their own cabins as well. Courtesy of the royal palace as well" she added. Huh?

I turned to Liana for answers.

"Luke knew how much of an asset you were to the pack and how much you helped in protecting it. He knew that by taking you away, he was also taking away the top protector of the pack so he sent out guards for Sol to protect it just like how you did for the past years" she explained.

My throat went dry.

"Why did he never mention it to me?" I said.

"You know Luke. He wouldn't tell you unless you asked and he wouldn't let you know his intentions just because" Lia said with a shrug.

I bit my lower lip.

He did that to protect the pack even without me in it?

I was still stunned but Denisse slightly pulled on me and I saw that the bus infront of us we're already going inside the pack borders.

We went back inside the car and drove inside the pack.

I didn't know how to feel after finding out that Luke himself sent guards to Sol to protect it.

Because he knew that my absence would affect the pack.

He didn't need to think about Sol but he did.

And he made an action to make sure that Sol was safe even without his mate in it.

No one told me about this.

I didn't know so it came as a shock to me.

We reached the gates and royal guards opened the gates for us as well.

I didn't know how many royal guards were inside the territory but I could tell that there were more than enough to secure Sol from threats outside the territory.

We got out of the car after it was parked and I looked around to see a few more royal guards roaming around.

Some of them went up to the Alpha and the Alpha greeted them with a smile.

The guards saw us as well and immediately went to us. They bowed to both Liana and I.

I gave them a small smile.

"We should go to our cabin" Denisse asked.

I nodded in agreement.

We walked to our cabin with guards following us with our luggage.

Bryan held my hand as we walked but my thoughts were still all over the place.

We soon arrived at Denisse and I's cabin and I immediately noticed the change.

It was bigger now and it looked newly renovated.

"That's also in courtesy of the royal palace" Denisse said.

"You mean in courtesy of my brother, Luke. That's too personal now to be in the palace matters" Lia said giggling as we walked over to the cabin.

We went inside and it was clear that the cabin had an extension and a whole makeover.

"There's an additional room. It's supposed to be an office" Denisse said.

I looked around and my heart squeezed inside my chest.

"Nice home" Lia said and gave me pat on the back.

Did Luke really do all of this?

For what?

It's not like I live here anymore.

I felt so confused.

What was the reason?

I looked around the house and it definitely improved.

When I was living here, we maintained the place really well but now, it could pass as brand new.

I sat on the couch still looking around.

I don't understand.

I really don't.

I massaged the bridge of my nose.

"Ali, are you okay?" Bry came to me and asked me.

I nodded.

"I'm fine, bud. Uhm, do you need anything? Do you want anything?" I asked him.

"I'm feeling a bit hungry" he told me.

I nodded and went to Denisse.

"Do you have something to cook in the fridge?" I asked Denisse.

"The fridge is always full. Go one ahead and make anything you want" she told me.

My brows furrowed a bit as I walked to the kitchen.

I opened the fridge and she was right.

It really was filled with so many stuff.

Then, I thought about opening the other cabinets only to find out they were also filled with different snack, ingredients, condiments and all sort of stuff.

"Just so you know, I don't buy them. It gets delivered to the house on a weekly basis" Denisse peeked in the kitchens.

"By whom?" I still asked even though I already had a clue.

"His highness did" she said with a shrug.

"His highness also sends goodies to every household in the pack every now and then and when I say that, I mean he sends it often" she told me.

I blinked still processing it.

"Why?" I blurted out.

Denisse took a seat and she grabbed an apple.

"I don't really know but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with you. Didn't you like request anything like that?" she asked.

"If I knew I can, I probably wouldn't but I didn't know so I didn't..." I said still baffled.

"You're saying it's all your mate? Hmm. Interesting" she said as she took a bite of her apple.

Then, Lia came in.

"What's up?" she asked.

Denisse and I looked at her.

"Your brother also sends food and other necessities to the pack?" I said.

Lia looked at me confused.

"He did?" she said.

"He does" Denisse said.

Lia looked at me.

"This is news to me. I only knew about the guards. No one told me about this one" she said.

I bit my lower lip.

"Maybe your twin knows?" Denisse said.

"I doubt it. Lucas would have already told me if he knew" Lia said taking a seat next to Denisse.

Denisse gave Lia a fruit.

"Thank you" Lia said with a smile.

Then, Denisse looked at me.

"It literally all your mate. I guess his highness didn't involve anyone else with this one" she said and Denisse and Lia glanced at each other.

Lia glanced at me as she shrug.

"It's quite impressive if you ask me" she said.
