Chapter 81

Luke's

POV

"Hey" I called to my mate softly.

She turned her head to look at me and I could see the anxiety through her eyes as I too begin to feel what she was feeling.

I could feel her anxiety with our bond.

The car had just stopped and we've arrived inside the Crescent Moon pack.

"They're going to love you" I assured her.

I knew the pack members of Crescent Moon well.

They would love Alissa. I'm sure of it.

Alissa took a deep breath and nodded.

"Shall we?" I said.

Alissa nodded again and I got off the car first and walked over to her side where a guard was waiting to open the door for her.

"Let me" I simply said and the guard stepped aside as I opened the car door.

I offered my hand to Alissa and she took it.

She was still nervous and that was understandable.

She was right when she said that Crescent Moon was my family. They are.

My siblings and I spent a good amount of time here in Crescent Moon growing up. It's our second home.

Alissa looked around and I saw her eyes shine in wonder as she looked around.

Crescent Moon is the biggest pack known to werewolves.

It has the best land there is thanks to my mother, the Alpha, other head wolves and of course, it's loyal members. Crescent Moon was once the land that my mother led before she found out that she was actually of royal blood.

At such a young age, she led Crescent Moon as the very first female Alpha.

And then, she became the most powerful wolf alive and the Queen of both the Lunar territory and the Halo territory. She did all of that and so much more.

I held Alissa's hand and intertwined it with mine then I planted a kiss on the back of her hand.

Alissa smiled and I could see her relax.

We walked to the pack house together and as soon as the doors opened for us, there was a popping sound.

I instinctively covered Alissa to protect her only to realize that it was the sound of confetti popping.

"Welcome to Crescent Moon!"

I uncovered Alissa and she looked at everyone inside.

She blushed when she saw them.

Alissa then bowed her head at them.

"Thank you for your warm welcome" she said blushing profusely.

Mom came to us and made Alissa stand straight before she made her face everyone.

"Dear, please introduce yourself" my mother said.

Alissa gulped and nodded.

"Good day, everyone. I'm Alissa Ford-Alaric, Luke's mate and wife" she introduced herself nervously. Uncle El who is also the pack's Alpha walked towards us with a smile.

"Alissa" he said.

"My name is El, I'm Crescent Moon's Alpha" he introduced himself as he offered to take Alissa's hand.

"Alpha El, it's a pleasure to meet you" Ali said.

"Please call me uncle El instead. You're Luke's wife after all. That makes you family" he said and instead of shaking Ali's hand, he gave her a hug.

Ali blushed again then nodded shyly.

Uncle El smiled and he turned to me and also gave me a hug.

"It's been a while" he muttered as we hugged.

"Yeah" I agreed.

Everyone else in the pack house greeted Ali a warm welcome and also greeted my siblings and I for coming back after a long time of not being able to visit.

Ali started relaxing as time passed by and that made me smile.

"We fixed your room so you can both rest in your room, Luke" uncle El said.

I nodded.

"Thank you" I said.

"You guys rest for now. We prepared a feast for dinner to welcome Alissa for the first time here in the pack" uncle El stated.

We nodded and thanked everyone for the welcome.

Ali and I went upstairs to my room to rest since it's been a long drive to get to Crescent Moon from the palace.

We arrived in my room and the guards brought us our luggage.

Ali immediately threw herself on the bed and I chuckled as I watch her bury her face in the pillows.

"Is everything okay?" I asked chuckling.

Ali turned to her side and looked at me.

"Meeting the members in the pack house was amazing. Everyone was so nice and welcoming" she said.

"And?" I said.

"But I haven't even me 1/8 of the pack members yet and the wolves downstairs are the ones you most likely spent a lot of your time with growing up so they're more than incredibly fond of you" she said pouting. I chuckled but agreed.

"What's your point?" I asked as I sat down on the bed with her.

"That means I'll meet a lot more wolves who aren't completely biased because they love you and chances are, they won't like me" she said.

I gave Ali an assuring smile as I caressed her cheek.

"Why would they even dislike you? You're the most likeable person I know" I said.

Ali raised a brow at me.

"You used to hate my existence not too long ago" she pointed out.

"I never hated you. Don't say that" I said.

Ali sat up crossing her arms in front of her chest.

"Right" she said rolling her eyes at me.

I chuckled and pulled her to lay down with me.

"You should rest and stop over thinking. Let yourself get a break" I said as I snuggled into her.

Ali sighed and nodded as she snuggled into me.

After some time, Ali finally fell asleep in my arms.

I stared at her as she was sleeping.

She looked so at peace but at the same time, she looked tired.

The pressure of the coronation must be getting to her and I don't blame her but I can't actually do anything except encourage her.

She needs to be strong for herself, for us, and for everyone else to become Queen.

And I believe she'll become an amazing leader.

I believe in her.
