The Wolf Queen -
Chapter 29: Lo, there do I see my father
RAOUL CUTS A BARREL IN half. They fill one side with letters and set it adrift. Channin, Ian, and Raoul line up. Abarrane holds a lantern out for them and they light their arrows. The small makeshift boat bobs along the rough waters. Their letters to lost friends go up quickly. Letters for the soldiers they have left behind. The ones she will not soon forget.
Lo, there do I see my father
Lo, there do I see my mother and sister and brothers
Lo, there do I see the line of my people going back to the beginning
Lo they do call me
They bid me take my place among them in the hallowed halls of Valhalla
Where the brave shall live forever.
