True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1973
Lowell continued to look at her fiercely for a while, then he hurriedly turned away.
After that, Janice was the only one left in the room.
The surrounding air was filled with uneasiness.
Janice shivered and suddenly came to her senses. Fear flashed in her eyes as she quickly packed up her things. That wouldn't do, she needed to leave.
She could not stay there. From the looks of it, Lowell was definitely going to do something to her.
At first, she wanted to make use of Lowell's sympathy to carry out Gary's part. She did not expect Lowell to have such a scary side to him as well.
That was far from what Janice expected.
She took out her phone and her hands were trembling as she went to the contact list. She looked for her friend's phone number.
She trembled as she searched for it, she then dialled the number right away. Her voice was even trembling a little.
"Come to the hospital to pick me up, hurry. I need to find a place to hide myself. Be fast, don't ask why. Just come and pick me up. If you don't, my child will be done. I really need to give birth to this child so that I can grab hold of Gary."
What the person on the other end of the phone said was unknown.
Janice shouted at the phone, "Ten minutes, I'll wait. Stop your nonsense and hurry up."
With that, she hung up the phone.
She packed everything, but after a while, she felt that it was inappropriate to do that, so she took some things out from her luggage and only took the valuable things.
She placed everything else back in the closet of the ward.
Janice carried her bag and put on her hat, ready to sneak away. However, as soon as the door opened, she was met with Lowell's fierce gaze.
Janice seemed to have seen his terrifyingly sharp eyes through his glasses, it was so sharp that it seemed to be able to pierce through her. He stared at her, his gaze never left. Janice was stunned, and she replied subconsciously, "I want to go home."
Lowell took a step forward, blocking her way.
Janice also subconsciously stepped back.
"Lowell, you can't imprison me. You are trapping me, and it is against the law. This is the United States, it isn't the home of the Jones family."
"So what?" Lowell sneered. "If you provoke someone of the Jones family, I have to warn you, you should bear the consequences no matter where you are."
"You... you can't do this." Janice shook her head profusely.
"Hmph." Lowell laughed. "What can't I do?"
"I am going out." Janice could tell that Lowell had the intention of locking her up, and she instantly got anxious. "Let me go."
However, Lowell pushed her into the ward.
Janice was almost pushed down by him. She subconsciously covered her lower abdomen, panic could be seen in her eyes. "I want to call the police."
Lowell smiled faintly, he took out his cell phone and made a call. He said, "You two, come and look after Janice. Don't let her leave. Besides that, unload the sim card off her cell phone, and do not let her contact anyone."
After just one minute, two men arrived at the door of the ward. They were both foreigners, and they were very tall too.
The moment they appeared, they immediately snatched away Janice's phone, they did not care what kind of reaction she made.
Janice screamed in fear, "What are you doing? You can't do that. Who said you could do that to me? Lowell, what are you doing? Let me go! I won't let you get away with this."
Lowell only smiled, and it turned into a wicked smirk, as if Janice's words were nothing more than a joke.
No one paid any attention to Janice's shouting. The two foreigners were obviously bodyguards. It seemed like they were well paid by Lowell.
After they took away Janice's cell phone, they checked everything else that were in her bag. After they was sure that there weren't any other equipments that could be used for communications, they stood at the door and blocked it.
Obviously, they were imprisoning her inside the ward of the private hospital.
Janice never dreamt that Lowell would do that. She had never expected Lowell to go to such measures.
Janice and Lowell were the only ones left in the ward. Janice shouted at Lowell, not giving up. "How could you do this to me? What do you think you can get by doing this?"
"I can be at peace," Lowell said in a deep voice, "If I don't let you hurt them, I will be able to be at peace. I won't let you hurt them, even if I have to go to hell."
Janice was stunned after she heard that.
Lowell knew all too well that his brother and sister had abandoned all worldly matters and hatred raising him up. Lowell knew all too well about the gratitude he needed to give back. Rightthen, all he wanted to do was repay his sibling's kindness.
He would not hesitate to do that, even if it meant that he would have to go to hell.
Janice was puzzled, she frowned. "This is illegal. How dare you say you will feel peaceful? Could it be that you will only be in peace if you violate the law?"
"That's right," Lowell said in a deep voice, "I don't care. I won't care even if I have to go to jail."
When Janice heard that, she gasped. She had never expected that from him.
She pursed her lips and lowered her head. She looked like a defeated rooster, her face had instantly turned pale.
She did not want to admit defeat at all, nor did she want to admit her mistakes.
However, as of then, her freedom was restricted by him. It made her feel very uncomfortable.
Lowell did not leave either. He only sat on the sofa, as if he was just there to watch the show. She had absolutely zero chance of escape as he was blocking her way out.
She had a hunch that Lowell had really made up his mind to fight with her till the end.
Janice was very frustrated. She mumbled, "How could this happen? Why did you turn out like this? What did I do wrong? I am just trying to pursue my happiness, and what's wrong with that?"
"It is not wrong for you to pursue your happiness, but you should not do that at the expense of other people's relationships, much less use such despicable tactics," Lowell said in a cold voice. Janice was stunned once more. She pursed her lips together. After a little while, she raised her head and looked at Lowell, she asked, "What exactly do you want?"
"I just want to drag this on, until we see the end of this," Lowell said in a deep voice.
"Lowell, don't you think you're being too stubborn?" Janice widened her eyes in surprise. Lowell, on the other hand, only laughed. His laugh was quite mocking and sorrowful.
After a long while, he suddenly looked at Janice
and said word by word, "Janice, do you know how my parents died?"
Janice was stunned.
She had heard a little bit about how Lowell's mother had died.
It was news from Northern City, saying that she committed suicide.
"My father and mother were both stubborn. They were so stubborn that they cut their contacts with their relatives. Their blood flows in my body. If I am not stubborn, how could I say that I have the same genes as them?" Lowell's handsome face fell, so cold.
The once graceful young man in white had suddenly changed. His innocence faded away. At that moment, he was full of bloodthirsty sharpness.
He was evil and dark.
He looked at Janice with cold eyes, the look in his eyes made Janice feel very uncomfortable.
"What I hate most is a woman's schemes. My mother used a plethora of means to humiliate my brother and sister. I did not expect you to do the same. I used to think that you were an innocent girl, but I never expected myself to have misjudged you." Lowell smiled sadly. Since he had no good impression left of her, there was no need for him to pity her anymore.
"I want to take pity on you, but you don't know your place. If I turn sentimental again, won't that be a sorry thing for your self-righteousness?"
Janice could not say a word. She really felt that the man in front of her was beyond her imagination.
It was as if she had never known Lowell before.
At that moment, his phone suddenly rang.
Lowell glanced at his phone. It was from home.
He picked up his phone and answered the call.
"Ernest, what's wrong?"
"Uncle Lowell, just now you hung up the phone in a hurry. I thought of something, and I think I need your answer. I have some questions," said Ernest. "What is it?" Lowell reverted into a gentle tone.
This voice was very gentle, it was completely different from the attitude he showed towards Janice earlier.
