Chapter 133

Koko’s POV

I woke up this morning with aches all over my body, but then it was a soreness that I was fine with, my mate held me protectively to himself, his strong arms wrapped around me, keeping me warm all night. I could feel his mark on my neck and a shiver ran across my entire body.

I had always felt close to him, but there was something different now, like my feelings for him had been heated in a flame and was now ten times more intense than before.

“You’re smiling so much, are you that happy that I’ve finally marked you?” His voice suddenly burst into my thoughts, but as I was thinking of a response, I could also sense that he was smiling cheek from cheek.

“I…I could say the same to you too, Niyol…”

He pulled me even closer to him, but I didn’t feel close enough to him. We had finally gotten here, after all the people that had done their best to try and get in between our love, they had all failed.

Suddenly, the thoughts of that shameless woman began to flood my mind and my stomach instantly twisted up.

Ugh, I had woken up to a perfect morning, but she had found her way to my thoughts. I hoped she had been able to scrap a little bit of shame yesterday and gone back to her pack. I shoved the thoughts of her to the corner of my mind, there was no way I was going to allow her to ruin this perfect morning.

My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sound of heavy bangs on the door of the royal mating chamber, I almost jumped right out of my skin, I was not expecting anyone to come and disturb us today, especially so early in the morning.

My mate also shared my irritation as he sat up and yelled at the direction of the door.

“What is the meaning of this banging so early in the morning…?”

It was basically an unwritten law that the Alpha king and Luna Queen were not supposed to be disturbed in the morning after their mating ceremony, but instead of the quietness we deserved to thoroughly bask in the beauty of last night and rest, we were jolted out of our rest with this sudden harsh knocking.

“This better be important…” My mate said grumpily as he put on his pants and I put on my gown,

As saw him going towards the door and called him back. “Niyol!”

He turned back to face me and I nodded

“Is something wrong?”

“What if the person at the door is a woman?”

He c0cked his eyebrow with confusion, as I was holding his shirt, running over to meet him.

“No one can see you like this except me…” The words had come out of my lips so instinctively that I didn’t have a moment to go through just how embarrassing it was to say out loud.

“Is that so?”

He said with teasing eyes and I looked away blushing up all the way to my ear.

“Can you just put on the shirts already?” I said getting more embarrassed by the moment that was passing.

Just then, we were interrupted by the sound of the banging door again and I was once again irritated by it; it wasn’t as if the palace was collapsing on itself.

After my mate had put on his shirt, I finally forced the door open wearing a very irritated expression, but when I saw the person that had been banging on the door, my entire expression became worse instantly.

“You!”

I snapped, it was that shameless woman… how did she get into the palace and find out that I was here at all?

“Koko, my darling daughter!”

I tightened my grip on the door frame so that my hand would not end up on her face. Just when I thought she had met her limit, she would break it.

“Did she just call you her daughter?”

I turned to my mate, I wished he hadn’t heard that. Before I could even respond to him, she had gotten in-between us and she was sobbing.

“Yes, I am a forgotten mother!”

The amount of second hand embarrassment that I was getting from her was making every inch of my body to crawl as if a cockroach was running across it.

When I finally recovered, I stepped out to call for the guards to come and drag her away, but Niyol came out, his hand on her shoulder and I could hear her feeding him lies.

“I came yesterday and the moment she saw me she shoved me to the ground and told me to eat dirt!”

My jaw fell open. Was this woman being serious? She had twisted the entire story more than her mind.

“Will you shut up!! Stop feeding my mate lies!”

How did this happen? This was supposed to be a magical morning that was supposed to be about me and my dear mate… we were supposed to roll on bed together, and instead of that, I had woken up to this.. this.. evil woman’s lies and shamelessness

“Wasn’t it bad enough that you ruined my childhood.. what else do you want?” I screamed at her and Niyol suddenly stood in front of her.

“Koko, this is your mother…”

My heart cracked as he took her side.

“Niyol, how can you be taking her side? Do you know what she has done.. do you?” My voice breaking down as I spoke.

“How can you even be talking about sides now?”

He turned to her.

“Ma’am… please… I’m going to have a maid to escort you to a suitable quarters for you to rest and all your needs will he provided…”

I felt like pulling all the hair out of my head, but then I heard someone rushing towards us and I turned to see Laci, when she spotted the evil woman, she let out a sigh of relief.

“Oh.. ma, this is where you are, I told you that you were supposed to wait…”

For a moment, I wondered if my ears were deceiving me at that point. Just when I was trying to recover from one shock, there was another one coming for me like arrows.

“Laci, you let her in the palace? I told you..”

I suddenly felt my mate’s hands across my waist pulling me back before I could march to his sister.

“Laci, please escort her to a nice empty quarter… Koko and I have to talk…”

And like that he pulled me into the chambers, closing the door.

“Niyol, how.. how can you welcome that woman here? she’s a monster sh-“

“She is your mother…”

He repeated for the umpteenth time and I tore away from his grip, staggering back, but he held me before I could fall.

“Koko, please calm down…”

“I am calm!” I yelled, as I took some deep breaths.

He placed his hands on my cheek and titled up my eyes to look at his.

“Koko, remember when you forgave my mother…”

Gently but steadily I nodded.

“And remember when you told me and Laci to forgive her, reminding us that she was our mother? Please.. I want you to try and forgive her too please for my sake…”

How on earth did this happen?
