She hadn’t expected Bennett to find out about that.

Bennett taunted, “Those calls you placed? Even if they connected, they’re futile in leading Holden here.

I don’t keep freeloaders.

Ariana scoffed, “You are the worthless person here, always finding time to spy on me.

Bennett replied nonchalantly, “You’re my prey, and hunting demands patience.

“You’re aware of my calls, but you didn’t do anything to punish me.

What’s your true objective?”

“Punish you? Indeed, you’re in for a lesson, but not now,” Bennett said in a playful tone.

Ariana seethed.

She was about to respond when Bennett said, “What’s my objective? I’m simply a person who wants to witness the prey’s final struggles.

”

When Ariana heard that, she fell silent.

Bennett, not getting any response from her, said, “What’s wrong? Are you scared now?”

Ariana wasn’t in the mood to talk to him and sank into a chair.

Her thoughts were scattered, mostly focused on where Holden might be.

If Adrian had tracked her down, Holden had probably followed him.

But with Bennett’s people and wild animals lurking here, she worried about Holden’s safety.

She was out of harm’s way for the night, but she dreaded the prospect of Bennett catching Holden.
