Unconscious Husband: Meet Her Love In Silence -
Chapter 1668
Caught off guard, Adrian staggered backward, ultimately falling to the floor, Blood streamed from his nose, staining his shirt.
Without hesitation, Moss struck again.
Adrian, weakened and unable to retaliate, lay defenseless.
Blood now obscured Adrian’s features.
Inside her cage, Ariana watched in horror, pleading desperately with Moss, “Stop! Please, stop!”
Though Ariana continued shouting, Moss remained deaf to her cries, determined that they should face consequences for their rebellious actions earlier.
When his fist became painful from punching, Moss ceased his beating and crouched to administer a syringe of liquid to Adrian.
Covered in scars, Adrian struggled and cursed vehemently.
But his resistance only invited more punches from Moss.
Ariana’s anxiety drove her to pound the iron bars frantically, desperate to intervene and save Adrian.
Soon, Moss injected two more syringes into Adrian’s body.
Gradually, Adrian lost the strength to resist, though he weakly continued to curse Moss.
“Save your energy for now, or you won’t be able to make a sound when the drug takes effect,” Moss sneered in reply.
Just as Moss prepared to inject Adrian for the fourth time, his phone suddenly rang.
After Moss glanced at his phone, his interest seemed to wane.
He stopped torturing Adrian,
packed his belongings, locked the cage, and departed without a backward glance.
He then descended to the third underground floor, opening an iron door to enter.
This was a bedroom decorated like a bar.
Right now, Bennett sat at the counter, offering Moss a faint smile and raising his wine glass in greeting.
Approaching Bennett, Moss removed his white coat, revealing a large, fierce scar from a burn on his arm.
His voice cold, he asked, “You called me here just to drink?”
With a warm smile gracing his lips, Bennett replied, “Yeah, I haven’t shared a hearty drink with you in quite some time.
”
Upon hearing this, Moss narrowed his eyes at Bennett and retorted with a touch of sarcasm, “Since when have you become so polite? I don’t see us becoming friendly now.
”
Bennett leisurely crossed his legs, poured a glass of wine, and extended it to Moss.
He intended to speak more to soothe Moss, but Moss remained wary.
He abruptly cut Bennett off, saying, “Cut the act.
We’re alone here.
Just tell me what you want.
”
Before Bennett could respond, Moss continued, “Is it about that woman? I suggest you abandon the idea.
I won’t let her go.
You’d do better finding another fiancée than trying to convince me.
There are plenty of women in the world anyway.
”
Bennett lowered his gaze, inwardly sneering at Moss’ hypocrisy.
Moss had fixated on just one woman for over two decades, yet he was now saying this to him.
Truthfully, he didn’t want to meddle with Moss’ unethical scientific research, but he couldn’t bear the thought of Ariana being used as an experimental subject.
While Moss wanted Emilia revived, he couldn’t fathom sacrificing Ariana’s life for that purpose.
Furthermore, how could Moss rationalize sacrificing Ariana’s life to save Emilia’s?
Both Emilia and Ariana were people.
As he contemplated this, a glint of ruthlessness flickered across Bennett’s eyes.
