Adrian quickly left carrying Ariana.

Moss observed them with a predatory sparkle in his gaze.

All of a sudden, he erupted into raucous Laughter and pursued them.

At that instant, Holden seized the opportunity.

He picked up a wooden stick from the ground and leaped from his hiding place to intercept Moss.

He fought with Moss, allowing Adrian time to escape.

As Adrian and Ariana receded into distant silhouettes, Moss, inflamed with fury, directed his gun at Holden and squeezed the trigger.

However, he had no bullets now.

A sinister smile briefly played across Moss’ face as he flung the gun aside and turned on his chainsaw, continuing to fight Holden.

The two adversaries were equally matched, exchanging robust blows amid billowing dust, each rapidly accumulating cuts and bruises.

Worn out, Holden collapsed, curling up in pain as his wounds from Moss’ chainsaw bled, the blood blending with the dirt and dust on the ground, intensifying his pain.

Sweating and writhing in pain, Holden fixed his gaze on Moss.

Moss looked just as battle-worn, his body smeared with blood, his eyes and once pristine coat stained a vivid red.

Moss grinned maliciously at Holden, wiping the blood from his face, his eyes alight with a wild glint.

“Lunatic,” Holden muttered under his breath.

Despite their critical injuries, both men found the resolve to stand, propelled by a profound animosity that seemed to demand that one must die for the fight to cease.

lanced around for his chainsaw, then remembered that Holden had seized it from him earlier.

The battle had grown so fierce that both the chainsaw and the stick were now out of sight, forcing Moss and Holden both to resort to using their fists, exchanging punches and hurling insults.

Just then, a thunderous explosion erupted from the metal house behind them.

Perhaps taken aback or simply exhausted, both men collapsed to the ground as the reverberation of the blast waned.

Moss lay on the ground, breathing laboriously, when a sudden realization dawned on him.

Disregarding his injuries, he scrambled to his feet and sprinted forward, just as Holden lunged toward him.

Holden, struggling for breath with his fists stained with blood, landed a solid punch on Moss’ nose.

Blood filled the air as Moss and Holden wrestled with each other.

After a while, Moss broke free and hurried toward the metal house as additional explosions echoed from inside.

Holden, soaked in blood and completely exhausted, did not pursue Moss.

He staggered away, his vision blurring until he fell with a heavy thud.

Just before losing consciousness, Holden heard the screech of brakes.

Meanwhile.

Adrian, who was running carrying Ariana and panting heavily, halted when he heard the booming explosion sounds.

His eyes widened.
