Perkins?”

“He’s upset because he’s afraid of having an injection on the backside,” Holden calmly lied.

Then, he glanced down and added, “You two need to take care of yourselves.

Stay safe and healthy.

Otherwise, you might end up just like Mr.

Perkins.

Upon hearing this, Melon instinctively covered his rear with his hands, fear flickering in his eyes.

He shook his head vehemently.

“I don’t want a shot there! It’s the most terrible thing! I’ll make sure to protect myself!”

“Me, too!” Adele chimed in, wide-eyed and echoing Melon’s sentiment.

The children appeared visibly frightened, tightly clasping each other’s hands and refusing to let go.

Holden’s smile deepened as he turned to look at Adrian’s ward, muttering under her breath, “Thank you, buddy.
