Unconscious Husband: Meet Her Love In Silence -
Chapter 1773
Ariana found a quiet corner.
The table was set simply, but beside the utensils lay a small toy duck, neatly wrapped in a plastic bag.
It was a freebie for children-something to occupy them while they waited for their meal, and they could take it home if they wished.
Adele’s eyes sparkled with delight as she spotted the toy.
She reached out while sitting, but her little arms fell short.
Determined, she tried to stand, but her foot slipped.
Ariana was about to order when she noticed what Adele was doing out of the corner of her eye.
In a heartbeat, she dropped the menu and lunged forward, catching Adele just before she could tumble to the floor.
Most children would have burst into tears at such a close call, but not Adele.
She only blinked, wide-eyed.
It was Ariana who was left shaken, her heart racing as a cold sweat broke out on her skin.
She only felt relieved she confirmed Adele was alright.
With a gentle smile, she handed Adele the toy she had been reaching for and then turned back to the waiter to complete her order.
In addition to the strawberry pancakes, Ariana ordered a glass of warm milk, As she waited, she played and chatted with Adele.
But just as Ariana began to relax, she felt a prickle at the back of her neck, as if someone’s gaze was fixed on her from behind.
Ariana abruptly turned her head but saw nothing unusual.
Instead, she saw a Little boy, about eight years old, in a hospital gown, staring at her with curiosity.
The boy appeared to have undergone chemotherapy.
He was bald and wore a fluffy wool hat, his face slightly pale.
Upon noticing Ariana looking at him, he flashed a smile, shook a Santa Claus-shaped candy in his hand, and said sweetly, “Merry Christmas, miss.

He appeared to be around Melon’s age, which immediately brought Melon to Ariana’s mind.
She wondered how Melon was doing now…
The boy assumed Ariana hadn’t heard him and mustered the courage to repeat his greeting, offering Ariana the single piece of candy he held.
Ariana felt warmth in her heart, but she knew she couldn’t take the candy.
As an adult, how could she take the boy’s only treat? So, she decided to accept only the boy’s verbal blessing.
She smiled gently and responded, “Merry Christmas.
”
The boy walked over to Ariana’s table as soon as he received her reply.
He wanted to talk more to Ariana.
Yet, before he could speak, his mother suddenly showed up, looking worried, with tears in her eyes and a frown on her face, scolding the boy for running around.
Realizing he might have made a mistake, the boy hung his head and stayed silent.
Seeing this, Ariana stepped forward to help the boy.
The boy’s mother wiped away her tears and apologized to Ariana, “I’m sorry that he bothered you.
”
“It’s okay.
” Ariana quickly assured her that the boy hadn’t bothered her and complimented him on his cuteness.
Shortly after, the boy’s mother led him away.
Ariana watched them as they left.
The boy’s mother had been crying so intensely that her face had seemed contorted with worry earlier.
Ariana understood the mother’s fear of losing her child… Because she was in a similar situation herself now.
