Wedding Day Vampire -
Chapter 67
Derick and I began a relationship not long after he moved in with us, he confessed his feelings for me and I felt the same way about him too, so we became a couple. Dana was happy for us, and gave us her full support.
Our relationship didn’t get in the way of me and Dana’s friendship, sometimes she would even steal me away from Derick to take me on a new adventure. One of such days, she took me to the enchanted forest.
The forest was a sight to behold, and if you would have told me before that a forest could live on a river, I would have thought you were crazy. But there it was, surrounded by the full beauty of nature, and illuminated by the glowing pixies that lived in it.
The forest was home to many mystical creatures Dana had told me about before, she brought me here to see things for myself. We walked a bit into the forest, and that was when I heard a little pixie crying in the distance.
“Do you hear that? Someone is crying,” I told Dana.
“I do, but I don’t think you should wander too far into…”
I didn’t wait for Dana to finish her sentence before I ran off in the direction of the cries to help that poor little soul. I knew she might want to stop me before I did, Dana always cared too much about being too careful, but I was never someone to see someone in help and ignore it.
I reach the point I heard the cries, and saw the pixie who had been crying, I noticed that she didn’t have any wings like the others I had seen at the entrance.
“Hello,” I said to the cute little creature.
She didn’t notice me standing there until she turned, she was too concerned about the challenge she was facing.
“Hello,” she said to me, wiping her tears. “My name is Mariana.”
“I’m Marylin, and it’s nice to meet you Mariana, can you tell me why you are crying?”
Mariana began to explain her predicament to me.
“Well, I left home a few days ago to gather some special leaves for some new magic I was working on, and when I was about to return, this huge tree fell and stood in my way. As a normal pixie with wings, I could have just flown over it, but I was born without wings, and have been here unable to contact my friends in Pixieland to help me fly over the fallen tree.”
“Aww, is that all? Well cry no more because help has come little pixie, I will help you lift this tree and get it out of your way.”
Mariana watched as I went towards the tree, lifted it with my immeasurable strength, and took it out of the way. It wasn’t a big tree, but it was for a pixie small as she was.
“Thank you so very much!” she said to me with her British accent.
“It’s no problem,” I said to her. “Where is this Pixieland?”
“Not too far from here, my house is just near the entrance.”
“Well jump on my hand Mariana, I’ll take you there since it’s not far. After all, you must have been exhausted from crying for so long.”
I spread my palm on the floor and waited for Mariana to climb on top of it, and when she did, I took her to her little town buzzing with pixies the same size as she but with their wings.
“Will you be okay now?” I asked as I put her down in front of her house.
“Yes, I will be, I don’t know how to thank you enough, but there’s something I would like to give you first before you go. Please wait.”
She quickly went inside to get me what she said she had for me. Dana had already reached where I was by then.
“Nice try, Marylin.” She said to me.
“I’m sorry, but someone here needed my help, and I had to do something to help this little pixie who wanted to get home.”
Dana looked down at Mariana’s house. She hadn’t come out yet.
“So, where is she?”
“She’s inside, she says she wants to give me something.”
Mariana heard them talking while inside, and then came out to meet Dana.
“Hello, I’m Mariana, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Please don’t be mad at Marylin, she’s been nothing but an angel to me, if it weren’t for her, I’m not sure I would have been able to return home.”
“No problem,” Dana said. “I can never be mad at her for helping you.”
“Thank you!” Mariana went in again and returned shortly with a small book in her hand. She gave it to me and before I knew it, the little book began to expand and increase in size until it was just the right fit for me. It had the words ‘DIARY’ written in front of it.
“It’s a magic diary,” she told me.
“I’m sorry,” I told her. “I’m going to have to refuse this, I could never keep track or even keep a diary.”
“You don’t have to, that’s why I said it’s magic. It’s pages never wither and only you can see the words you write in it. It’s not dated so you can write in it anytime you like. And if you exhaust all the pages, you can come right here and I’ll give you another one.”
“Thank you,” I told Mariana. At least what she said made it sound like keeping this diary would be a lot easier. I just hoped it would.
“We have to hurry back to the castle now,” Dana said hurriedly. “We only have a few hours until daylight.”
I said a goodbye to my pixie friend before rushing off with Dana so we could reach the castle before the sun came out. The wonderful life of a vampire, always running away from the sun.
