Both of them had classes to attend. Paul was teaching his course while Miranda was there to attend his lecture. Yes, it was the same one.

“Schrödinger imagined a scenario where a cat, a bottle of prison, and a radioactive source were placed inside a sealed box.

“If the detector inside the box detects radiation, the bottle breaks, releasing the poison and killing the cat. When the box is opened, the cat is either alive or dead.

“This theory arose because, in the field of physics, it’s believed that before observing the state of a particle. It can exist in multiple states at once–referred to as a superposition of wave functions. Once we observe the particle, we get a definite result regarding its state.”
