When They Beg, I Rise! -
Chapter 153
Alaric couldn't help but think that way. After all, the entire Langston family relied on Asher. When Asher spoke, no one dared to disobey. And that included Lemira. He remembered how Lemira was terrified of Asher and would never go against his wishes. Lucian was so frustrated he felt a stomach ache coming on, "What am I supposed to say to you? Acting like this, you're only pushing Lemmy further away!"
Lemira wasn't just throwing a tantrum right now!
"But what can I do? We haven't found a decent gunner yet, and without her, we're definitely going to lose tomorrow's game!"
Alaric didn't want to lose the game! Only now did he realize that he truly might have lost Lemira.
"You can't just force her! Is a game more important than your sister? By doing this, you're only going to lose her. Think about it."
Alaric finally lowered his head, somewhat reluctantly, "Can't Lemira just understand me this once? She knows how important this game is to me, yet she keeps using it to threaten me."
"Losing the game doesn't matter, but if you let Asher pressure her, you'll lose her for good. Is the game more important than your sister?"
Lucian closed his eyes, not wanting to say more. Every conversation with Alaric lately seemed to frustrate him. He now understood how Lemira felt.
Alaric stood still, his mind in turmoil, before turning and leaving the hospital room. He found Hogan, "Does Lucian know where Lemira is staying now?" "Mr. Alaric Langston, what do you want with Ms. Langston?"
"To make amends."
Alaric had finally come to realize that Lemira was different from before, something he had always refused to admit.
After some thought, Hogan gave Alaric an address, hoping Mr. Alaric Langston truly understood where he went wrong. Alaric went straight to the apartment complex, knowing only that Lemira lived there but not the specific unit.
He waited outside for a long time, only messaging Lemira after her livestream ended. But upon opening the chat, Alaric realized Lemira had already removed him as a friend.

It dawned on him then, maybe Lucian was right. Was he really so off the mark?
Alaric sent a friend request, adding a note: [Lemmy, I'm waiting downstairs. After all this time, let's talk.]
Just off her live stream, Lemira saw a new friend request pop up. Opening it, she saw Alaric's name and profile picture.
Was Alaric getting desperate because of tomorrow's final? She glanced at it and decided to ignore the request.
Walking out of the study, Lemira saw Orion on the balcony on a call, his profile stark against the dim light, looking deep and handsome. Holding her glass, she approached slowly, noticing his tender expression and caring tone.
She thought of the girl Orion had been seeing. Was he talking to her right now?
Suddenly, Lemira felt incredibly down. She sipped her lemonade to soothe her throat, and her phone displayed another message.
She opened the app to see Alaric's friend request again: [If you don't come down, I'll stay here all night. If the paparazzi spot me, your life here won't be peaceful anymore]
Lemira was annoyed. She knew Alaric was a tabloid regular, always followed by paparazzi for scoops. But she didn't want her tranquil life disturbed. After some thought, Lemira decided to go down after all.
"Where are you going?"
As Lemira was changing her shoes at the entrance, Orion's voice came from behind. She looked up to see him returning from the balcony, his figure imposing.
Noticing his gentle demeanor, a sour feeling welled up inside her. Lemira, feeling awkward, looked down, "Alaric's downstairs. He said he wants to talk."
"He asked you to get down and you just listened?" Orion furrowed his brows, "He's obviously just trying to plead his case for tomorrow's match."
