Who Is My Husband -
Scene 58
The white glow of the moon shined upon the group surrounding the two men in the dark. Dark lines ran over their arms and started crawling up their necks. The poison was spreading over their bodies, completely overtaking them.
“Damnit you two. I thought you said you were tough? How can you let something like this beat you down? How dare you let something like this kill you! You guys aren’t even trying. Try harder!” Lance yelled in a hoarse voice.
“This is my fault. I shouldn’t have sent you guys after the demons… I’m so sorry. This is my fault.” Trey’s voice broke as he barely whispered out the words.
The dark lines started to spread up over their faces and that was when Will collapsed to his knees. “We are losing them. They aren’t going to make it. Damnit Reggie you can’t leave. With you gone I’m the next biggest a*****e around. I can’t live in that shadow. Please… please fight it Reg.”
Kailee’s hands trembled as she held onto their icy hands. The wet streams trickled down her face. But when she saw Phill telling them both goodbye she felt total despair. She was magical. She had the world’s purest magic so she should be able to do something here right? She needed to only think about what she wanted to do and her magic should respond to her. That’s what she was told. So why wasn’t it working? Why wasn’t she healing them?
Suddenly an orange flame dove in front of Kailee. Sparks landed at her side and looked at the two men carefully.
“Sparks… why can’t I heal them. Shouldn’t I be able to heal them?” Kailee looked over at her phoenix friend with desperation.
Sparks remained quiet, not saying anything.
“Please, Sparks… I can’t lose anyone else.” Kailee pleaded. “If there is a way, tell me.”
Sparks looked up at her and stared into her watery eyes.
Their spirits have been knocked out of their body Kailee. In order to save them, you would have to enter the spirit realm… I don’t know if that is a good idea. You just got your powers. What if you get stuck?
“If there is a way I am doing it.” Kailee clung onto the small glimmer of hope. Trey immediately moved to Kailee’s side.
“Baby… I-”
“It’s a chance to save them, Trey.”
Trey nodded his head. “I know. I was going to say I want to help. How can I help?” He turned and looked at Sparks who seemed surprised at how supportive Trey was being over this. These men were not people he could discard. If there was a chance, he couldn’t ignore it. He could never forgive himself. Not to mention he knew he wouldn’t be able to talk Kailee out of it anyways. He wanted to be the mate she deserved. And she deserved someone who would have faith in her.
Wrap your arms around her, Trey. Hold her tight. And let out your warmth. Her body will chill in the spirit world. Sparks looked over at the other dragons. You need to do the same with them. You need to keep their bodies warm.
Kailee, I will join you in the spirit world and be your guide. Trey the moment her body enters the spirit world she will go unconscious. That will show that it is working. Sparks looked up at the moon. If we are going to do this, we need to do this now. It is easier to enter the spirit world at night.
Trey squeezed Kailee’s body tight. “I love you. Be safe and come back to me, promise?”
Kailee smiled and nodded her head. “I promise.” She leaned her head back and softly kissed his lips. “We are all coming back.”
Okay, Kailee. Close your eyes. Feel yourself drift away from yourself. Keep your mind on the spirit world. And feel yourself float towards it. That’s it… keep going.
Kailee heard Sparks’ voice begin to muffle and a strong breeze washed over her. She opened her eyes to see the bodies still lying right in front of her. She could see everyone still sitting in their same positions.
Kailee heard Sparks’ voice begin to muffle and a strong breeze washed over her. She opened her eyes to see the bodies still lying right in front of her. She could see everyone still sitting in their same positions.
When Kailee went to turn her head to look at Trey, she could also see herself. She stood up and took a step back. And then looked at herself in shock. She was not a person. She was a unicorn. She was in her true form. She danced backwards a few steps on her hooves in shock. At the same time, a white glow of light appeared in front of her.
“This way Kailee. We have to locate their spirits.”
Kailee stared at the white energy in front of her. “Are you Sparks?” She could see the orange Phoenix laying there in a dormant state. But he wasn’t here as a phoenix.
“Yes, we need to go. We will run out of time. Follow me.”
Kailee chased after the white light. Running away from everyone that was left waiting around the two men. “Did I shift into this form? Does this mean I am stuck as a unicorn? And what about you?”
“No Kailee. This is your true form. Because this is the spirit world it is reflecting your true self. This also means Reggie and Grum will be in their dragon forms. And most likely are in the same area where they were poisoned.” Sparks white light flew through the air. Kailee effortlessly galloped at its side. Her white mane and tail flew behind her in a sparkling light.
“So, what is your true form then?” Kailee looked at the white ball of energy.
“This is my energy’s form. Now listen Kailee. When we find them you will have to purify their spirits. And then you will have to convince them that they are not with their original bodies. Let’s hope you have a close enough bond with them for that. You don’t look like Kailee… I don’t know if they will trust you.”
“They will trust me. Because we are family.” Kailee felt confident about this. Because she felt like she had a bond with them.
“Well just be careful. They will be in their dragon forms. And just because we are in the spirit world doesn’t mean they are not dangerous. They still have their strength and power here.”
Kailee raced through the field under the night sky. It was hard to believe this was a different world. It looked exactly the same… well she thought that for a moment. Until she saw a weird giant frog leaping in the air. That definitely wasn’t normal. She also saw a huge fish of sorts swimming in the sky. It would have been an amazing sight if it wasn’t for the urgency of the situation she was in.
She wondered how it would have felt to be in her unicorn form. And now that she was… it was very natural for her. She glided gracefully over the terrain. And she was faster than she imagined she would have been. Her white body had a soft glow around it. And though she couldn’t feel it she knew there was a horn present on her head. This was an experience she would relish in later. After she was back with both Reggie and Grum.
As they approached another opening, she noticed two large bodies lying near the other. A gigantic orange and red dragon. She ran up between their two unconscious bodies. The white energy of Sparks bobbed around her.
“Now think of healing them, Kailee. Imagine pushing the darkness from their bodies. You can do it. This is very simple for you to do. But after you do immediately back away from them. They will both wake up and we don’t know how they will react.” The white light swirled from side to side in front of Kailee.
Kailee nodded her head and thought about healing the two dragons. She imagined herself pushing all of the dark poison out of their bodies. She felt her energy wash over her and over the two dragons. As if it was a purifying waterfall, it cleansed them. Their bodies became lighter as the darkness retreated from them. When she was certain it had been removed, she danced backwards several feet to give them some room. Sparks moved backwards as well hovering over Kailee.
She watched as the two dragons began to stir. Then they slowly rose to their feet. The orange and red dragon looked at one another at first. And then they began to glance around. It looked like they were looking for the others. Which reminded Kailee they probably were. They would be looking for Lance, Phill and Will since they were together.
“They are just fine. We are all waiting for you two to return. Now which one is Grum, and which one is Reggie?” Kailee asked as they both whipped their heads in her direction. They both stared at her. She watched as the red dragon began to curl his lips up at her and let out a low growl.
“What kind of sorcery are you?” Grum growled out lowly. Unicorns did not exist they were extinct. The last one died off a long time ago. He wouldn’t be fooled by some demon’s tricks.
“Look we don’t have time for this. We have to get you guys back before dawn. Sparks here will lead the way.” Kailee said as she danced around on her hooves.
“Sparks?” The orange dragon narrowed his eyes on the white light and then to the unicorn. “Are you saying that you…”
“Yes, I am Kailee. I’m sorry I don’t know which one of you is Grum and Reggie… Look you were both poisoned. Your spirits were sent to the spirit world. I had to come here to heal you and bring you back. I know this seems really far fetched but it is the truth.” Kailee stood still and stared at the two dragons. “The reason you couldn’t guess who I was… well that is because you did not think my kind still existed. I guess there isn’t a my kind since I am the last unicorn.”
Grum slammed his tail into the ground and breathed smoke through his nose. He growled again as he stared at the unicorn. “Impossible.”
Kailee… we aren’t alone. Something dark is approaching. Sparks bounded around Kailee in a panic. The trees in the distance started knocking overed as something large approached.
“The guys are in no condition to fight…” Kailee said to Sparks and glanced at the two dragons. “You two head back to Clover Estate. You will see your bodies there. Along with Phill, Will, Lance and Trey sitting around them at the garden. My body is there too… I’ll hold whatever is coming off.”
When the two dragons heard these words, they knew the truth. No matter how unreal and far fetched it seemed… this was their Kailee.
“As if we can just leave you here.” Reggie looked at the white unicorn. He couldn’t believe it… but this was Kailee. “I am Reggie by the way.”
Another tree was knocked down in the distance and a flock of birds took of flying into the sky. Kailee danced on her feet and then looked back at Reggie and Grum. “Please go. I can’t lose you guys. You can’t fight right now. I’ll take care of this.”
No… Sparks said in a gasp. No… you guys all need to run. All of you. Quickly. Sparks urged.
“Why what is it?” Grum asked lifting his head up higher.
“It’s Bane’s spirit… Kailee, you can’t face him now. Quickly run!” Sparks yelled in horror as a dark cloud began to peek through the darkness.
