Chapter 19

Jess’s POV

“Well second isn’t bad.” I say to my alpha mates. Trying to cheer them up. “Come on guys. If anything you guys are taking home the real prize. You are taking Jess as your mate and Luna. She is our top female warrior and you three are taking her away from us.” Raphael said, trying to help and it worked. All three of them perked up and nodded to what Raphael had said. “Ture, now let’s get this little princess cleaned up and dressed for dinner.” Leo said while standing up with me.

“Oh no you don’t mister. The girls and I will get her cleaned up and dressed. You can take her to the bathroom and set her down. Once we are done then you can carry her to the dining hall.” Odette said while stepping Leo’s way. Leo wanted to protest, but he felt like that would be a good idea. I did too considering what was happening between all of us just a little while ago. I don’t think they would be able to control themselves if they saw me naked as the day I was born.

I felt someone staring. It sent a shiver down my spine and not in the same way my mates do. It made my skin crawl and Midnight was getting agitated. I jolted upwards and started looking around. “Whoa, careful princess. I don’t want to drop you.” Leo said to me but I was looking all around. “Honey? Is something wrong?” Hero said. I was still looking around not answering, then Raphael’s voice boomed and made me snap out of my trance. “JESSABELLE! What is wrong.” I shook my head. “I am not sure. I felt someone’s eyes on me and it made my skin crawl. Midnight is on alert right now. It’s one of those feelings Raphael.” Raphael stood up straight and his eyes glazed over. The triplets and Odette were looking between Raphael and me confused.

Next thing I know Ryan and Jorge are right next to us. “Where was it coming from Jess?” Ryan said between pants as he tried to catch his breath. I closed my eyes and focused on the feeling. I felt it again and I did not want to alert whoever was watching me. I looked up at Ryan and Jorge “The other side of the arena in the woods.” Jorge asked “Friendly or unfriendly?” I clenched onto the front of Leo’s shirt. “Unfriendly, very unfriendly. It gives me the chills that whoever is over there is staring at me like this. I think its him again.” Ryan and Jorge both nodded and left. As soon as they were down from the stands they shifted and ran in the direction I told them to go. “Lets all get to Jess’s room and we will explain. Rose and Stella already have a hot bath ready for you Jess, and I am having an omega bring the usual to your room too.” Raphael said. I nodded and leaned back onto Leo’s shoulder as he carried me to my room.

Once we were all in my room Stella and Rose took me from Leo’s arms and helped me hobble my way to the bathroom. Once they got me in the hot water I started scrubbing and scrubbing until I was bright red. Stella’s eyes glazed over for a second and she went to the door. Raphael handed her the glass of my usual. It was some of the strongest were-liquor that we had here. Being a bit buzzed was the best way to calm Midnight down when we get feelings like this. I remember the first time something like this happened.

~Flashback~ (4 years ago)

I had just finished training with Jorge and we were running the perimeter of the territory. Midnight was faster than Jorge’s wolf, Ash. All of a sudden Midnight stopped and sniffed around. I was feeling like I was dunked in an oozing slime that made my skin crawl. Even in wolf form. Ash and Jorge were trying to get mine and Midnight’s attention, but it felt like they were miles away from us.

It was like Midnight and I were being swallowed up in darkness and then we heard a voice that was chilling. “Ah what a beauty in both wolf and human foam I have found. You will make a good addition to my collection.” Midnight growled and snarled at the voice. “Oh one with fire. Those ones are always the most fun to hunt. You have grown so well since that day.” Before I could think or ask what the voice means I heard Raphael’s voice boom and Alistar’s alpha aura being Midnight and me back out of the darkness. Raphael had forced me to shift back and I passed out afterwards. When I woke up I was in the pack hospital with Ryan, Rose, Jorge, and Raphael all with worried looks on their faces.

“What the hell happened?” I g*****d as I tried to sit up. “That is what we want to know.” Jorge came to my side to help me up. “You and Midnight just stopped out of nowhere when we were running around the perimeter in wolf form. Then Midnight started to snarl and growl even though it was only us there. Ash and I tried to use our gamma aura to bring you back to reality, but it was like you guys couldn’t hear or see us. Once Raphael got there, he and Alistar got you to shift back. But you passed out afterwards. So what happened out there Jess?!” I shook my head lightly. “I honestly don’t know myself. I remember running, then it was like I was drowning in darkness and then I heard a man’s voice. It was so cold and stale that it made Midnight very agitated and me sick to my stomach.”

Raphael asked “Did this voice say anything specific Jess?” I nodded. “It said something about me being a rare beauty and that I would make a good addition to his collection, and that he was glad I had grown since that day. Midnight was snarling and growling at the voice. Then I felt Raphael’s voice and Alistar’s aura pulled us out of the darkness and then I woke up here.” Raphael was looking back and forth between me and Jorge. I lowered my head. “I am sorry Jorge, and Midnight wants to tell Ash she is sorry too. We don’t want to do anything that could hurt any of you or this pack.” Jorge hugged me and said. “You don’t have to worry about it Jess. You and Midnight were not being that aggressive towards Ash or me. You just looked like your mind was miles away from your physical body.” That is what it felt like.

Raphael spoke up. “Jess, we are going to try and figure this out as a family. Whoever this bastard thinks he can just claim you and Midnight for some sick collection then he has to get between the whole Thunder Mountain pack. Until we know more about how he could pull yours and Midnight’s congested minds into a video like that, then we will keep you close to the pack house and find ways to keep Midnight from going farel with this stress. This time we had to use the alpha command to force you two to comply, next time we will try something else like were-liquor or something. Last resort would be a shot of wolfsbane, but if I am not here when it happens Ryan and Jorge will need something to calm Midnight if this happens again.” I nodded, “I understand.”

It would happen about once a month, until I started to hear a woman’s voice in my dreams. I had no idea who this woman was, but she made the stress a lot easier and she always said we would meet face to face when the time was right. She would sing a lullaby for Midnight and me. I guess that was what kept the two of us from going farel with all the stress.

I grabbed the cup and downed it. Hoping the effects of the alcohol would calm Midnight down or put her to sleep. Rose and Stella helped me out of the tub and get dressed in some baggy sweats I sometimes sleep in. They helped me out of the bathroom where Raphael, Odette, and my triplets were waiting on the sofas. Stella and Rose helped me over to a nearby chair and sat me down. Ryan and Jorge bursted into my room as soon as I sat down. “That bastard got away again. He is getting bolder.” Ryan said. “What do you mean?” Raphael asked. “He didn’t cover his scent like he normally does when he gives Jess a fright. It was all over the area Jess told us about.” Jorge answered him. “Ok can someone please tell me what is going on? Why does Jess look like she just saw a ghost right now?” Odette yelled. “Hold on my love we will explain in a moment. Jess did he say anything to you this time?” Raphael asked while kneeling in front of me. I shook my head. “No all I felt this time around was his stare and Midnight caught his scent in the wind. I still don’t know why he is after me. I feel scared he is going to hurt one of my alphas.” I said, starting to tear up. I was not someone to cry often, even if I was in physical pain.

“He must have heard Alpha Leo announce she has their mate and Luna. That’s why he didn’t cover his scent.” Jorge said. Raphael picked me up and placed me on Zero’s lap. I clung to him and whimpered like a newborn pup. “What I am going to tell you only those in this room know of. I had planned on telling the triplet alphas tomorrow after breakfast, but since this bastard wastes no time then neither will I.” Raphael looked around the room. Raphael told Odette, Leo, Zero, and Hero all about how I have been hearing a male’s voice talking to me and how this unknown male was stalking me. “None of us know why he even wants her.” Raphael had finished. Then the doors bursted open again.

“It is because of her gift.” a woman’s voice said. We all looked at the door. Two very beautiful women along with a handsome man came into my room. “Who the hell are you?” Ryan roared, but I grabbed his arm. I turned towards the woman. “What did you say?” I asked while forcing myself to stand. The woman smiled. “I told ya we would meet face to face when the time was right. It is an honor to finally see your face, little one.” Before I could say anything Leo shot up and addressed the woman. “Sasha?! How do you know her already? Did your gifts tell you?” he asked. Sasha? That was one of the betas of Raven Moon. “Yes Leo. My gifts helped me find this special wolf a little over 3 years ago, but I had no idea that she would be yours and the boy’s mate. Let me see her for a moment.” Sasha came closer to me and cupped my face in her hands and pressed her forehead to mine. I felt my body become calm, Midnight had become calm, and then everything went black.
