Jasmine stuffed the bags on the couch into Calla’s hands, then pushed her up the stairs.

Well, she had no choice but to obey Mercer’s loyal helper. Calla stood in front of the bedroom with her arms full.

After a moment of hesitation, she thought that going in just like that would be rather embarrassing. Thus, she turned around and headed to the other bedroom.

At this moment, the door to the master bedroom opened suddenly.

Calla turned to see Mercer standing there with an icy expression on his face. Her hands trembled and the bags fell onto the floor. Calla stumbled as she exclaimed, “Oh no!”

When Mercer saw that, he stepped forward and circled Calla’s waist with an arm. He asked in concern, Are you alright?”

Calla placed a hand on her forehead and said, “I’m fine. I just feel a little dizzy.”

Mercer bent down and swept her off the ground before walking back into the room.

Within seconds, Calla’s dissatisfaction dissipated as she lay in his strong arms and warm embrace.

She stared at him as he carefully placed her onto the gigantic bed. He poured her a glass of warm water while mumbling. “You’re definitely exhausted from your little outing. Don’t you understand that you’re Pregnant now?

“Exhaustion is one of the leading causes of miscarriage. Even if you’re not concerned about yourself, you have to be more careful for the sake of the baby!

“I–I’m sorry,” Calla said as she looked down, shrouded in guilt.

She wasn’t feeling guilty about going against Mercer’s instructions. Instead, she was feeling bad about the prank she played when he opened the door. She had dropped the bags and acted as if she was about to faint.

She’d intended to make him go easy on her. Who would’ve guessed he’d be so worried about her? Calla had taken advantage of his concern and made him fret over her unnecessarily.

Judging from his expression, the anger from before seemed to have drained from Mercer.

“In the afternoon, I received more than ten messages concerning your purchases. It looks like you had a good time,” said Mercer as he casually scrolled through his phone.

When she heard that, Calla’s eyes widened. She grabbed his phone and looked at it. Indeed, all the details surrounding her purchases had been sent to his phone.

He had linked the card to his phone number, so he would know when and where she spent the money.

Calla could only return his phone and flop onto the bed. She was rather disappointed, feeling like she was

“I feel like I have no privacy, complained Calla in frustration.

“I’m your husband. What privacy do you need?” asked Mercer as he stared into Calla’s eyes.

His gaze intimidated her a little. She sat up and hugged a pillow while asking. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“I was thinking about how I don’t understand you,” stated Mercer.

He then grabbed the pillow from her and tossed it to the floor. He pressed her onto the bed, supporting himself by propping his forearms on either side of her head.
