Wolf.e: A Dark MC Romance -
Wolf.e: Chapter 59
I can feel his eyes on me, that man of mine, from the other side of the room. My ruthless king who won’t bend for anyone but will quote Fitzgerald while washing my hair.
Just the sight of him is making a mess of my panties with this goddamn taunting jewel in my ass. I’m hypersensitive, even though I just had him inside of me this morning in the shower when we got back from St. Henry’s.
“You’re gonna let me slip this inside you, Brinley. I almost lost you. I didn’t think I’d ever see you again. Life is too short to not do what we want, and tonight I’ll be taking every part of you and making it mine.”
The clubhouse is buzzing with people. I do my best to make sure everyone is happy and serve food to our guests with Shelly and Layla.
“That man is burning a hole into you from over there.” Layla giggles.
I look up at him and smile from across the room. Yep. He’s definitely losing patience. I’m going to pay for that later.
“You okay?” she asks as we scoop mashed potatoes into serving bowls to take around to the tables.
“I am,” I say to her. “I’ve got the realtor coming tomorrow to give me a price for my parents’ place. I know this is fast”—I gesture to the new leather I’m wearing—“but—”
Layla starts to laugh, cutting me off. “You don’t have to tell me anything. I knew Sean was it for me on our first date. I was wearing his cut after a month, even faster than the two of you. When you know, you know, babe.” She smiles even wider. “Besides, I really love having you around.”
“Same.” I wipe the workspace down and shake my head. “Imagine those two little girls in the front row on Sunday morning now—”
“Ol’ ladies.” She laughs.
I swat at her. “Speak for yourself, I’m not an ol’ anything.”
“Hey, I’d rather be an ol’ lady than some stick-up-the-ass-girlfriend. And by the way, that post you sent me”—she stifles a laugh—“it really does look like Evan’s new girlfriend has a stick up her ass.”
I laugh with her.
One of mine and Evan’s mutual friends sent me a social media post this morning that told me Evan is dating the daughter of one of his New York bosses, and I sent it to Layla. When I looked at the two of them in that photo together I couldn’t even believe that was the life I was living only a few months ago. His new love interest is a high society type, barely smiling with his arm around her. In the photo she looked exactly like someone I used to want to be.
“Me too.” I nudge her. “Thank God I came home.”
“Brin.” Gabriel’s voice sounds from behind me, interrupting Layla and me.
I smile up at him sweetly, clenching my thighs together. I know how desperate he is right now and I use every ounce of will power to push through.
“You in a hurry?” I ask him as politely as I can. I see the tendons flex under the scruff of his jaw. His face is stitched and bruised but he’s still so beautiful.
He grabs me roughly with his first two fingers in the belt loops of my jeans and tugs me toward him, kissing me once on the lips, gentle enough to almost do me in.
But it’s when he leans down to say, “We’re going to my garage,” that I know I’m a goner. “You pushed me too far. You have less than one minute to follow me to my bike or I’m gonna take you on that fucking pool table.”
I pull my face back from his.
“Why to your garage?” I ask.
Gabriel smirks as his minty breath comes down over my lips. His deep whisper is clear in the noisy room. “My house is too far and if it happens anywhere in this building, they’re all gonna hear you scream.”
“Oh…” I mutter, giving Layla one last glance over my shoulder.
She rolls her eyes but I don’t even care.
I mean, really? Who am I kidding? I may be able to wear the mask of a good girl but I’m a total slut for Gabriel Wolfe and have been since the second I laid eyes on him in the middle of Main Street.
