"Who are you?"

Lillian Ford had originally called Anthony Holland in hopes that he could think of a way to save Skylar.

However, Linda's sweet voice sounded like a threat to her. She could feel that Linda was charming even through the phone.

"Mrs. Holland, I'm President Holland's secretary. I just introduced myself..."

Linda felt weirdly annoyed because she was not expecting to be questioned like this.

However, she was a newcomer. No one had told her that Anthony's wife was a person with cells of jealousy all over her body. It seemed that even her imagination was borderless.

"How long have you been working with my husband?"

Lillian asked.

"It's just been half a year."

Linda meant that she had just been the president's secretary for half a year. However, she did not expect that Lillian would bend her words at her will.

"Huh, half a year? What did you do to my husband?"

Lillian knew that it was bad for her to suspect the lady without evidence. However, what would a man ask from his female secretary if not for her unofficial service?

In the TV series, the boss and his secretary would go on business trips together. On the surface, they would register for two separate rooms, but they would rendezvous in the evening, perhaps on the bed. Linda seemed to understand what Lillian was implying. She explained, "Mrs. Holland, I think that you're misunderstanding something. I am only President Holland's secretary. My job scope is mainly to help President Holland with his meeting materials and schedule."

Being a secretary herself, Linda knew that a president's wife would eventually come to suspect her. Thus, Linda told Lillian about her work in detail, hoping that she could resolve the misunderstanding. "What did you say? Did you just say that your job is to help my husband with his meeting materials?"

Lillian raised her voice.

"Yes."

"You just said that my husband is in a meeting. Then, aren't you supposed to sort out the meeting materials? Why are you on the phone now then? Do you think I'm easy to fool?" Anthony had always been indifferent to her, but it was exacerbated in recent years with his blatant neglection.

Lillian thought that Anthony must be having an affair. However, she didn't care about it as long as Anthony would give her money, and that she could live her life freely in luxury. However, now that she had caught Linda red-handed on the phone, she had to exercise the power of a president's wife.

"No, Mrs. Holland, I left the meeting to print the materials and I answered your call when I heard it ringing."

Linda was also stunned.

"Stop lying. You said that you are a secretary, but in fact, you're seducing my husband!"

Lillian was already anxious about the issues befalling Skylar. Now, Linda had inadvertently become her target to vent her anger on. She was not going to let such an opportunity slip her by. "Mrs. Holland, please wait for a moment. I'll ask for President Holland right now."

Tears welled up in her eyes. Linda was young and inexperienced. She put the phone aside and entered the meeting room without hesitation despite Anthony being in a meeting. "What's going on? Where's the material?"

When he saw Linda entering the meeting room empty-handedly, his face darkened.

"President Holland, your wife is on the phone. Would you like to answer the call?"

Linda's eyes were red, and there was a strong nasal sound in her voice. It was obvious that she had been wronged.

As soon as Anthony saw her like this, he could take a good guess at what had happened.

After all, Anthony knew Lillian very well. She must have heard that he had hired a female secretary and assumed that he had an affair with Linda. She must have made things difficult for her. "Alright. Everyone, give me a minute."

Anthony went out to answer the phone with a cold face.

After venting her uncontrollable anger on Linda, Lilian had finally calmed down. It crossed her mind that if Linda was really honest about her job as a secretary, Anthony would definitely scold her. Now, she was regretting her harsh and impulsive action.

In less than two minutes, Anthony had walked to his office and picked up the phone.

"Hello."

Anthony said coldly.

"Honey, it's me."

Lillian's heart tightened when she heard Anthony's voice and she softened her voice.

"What's the matter?"

Lillian must have had too much time on her hands these years. She did nothing apart from playing poker and shopping. Besides, her figure had also changed for the worse. As years passed, Anthony's love for Lillian had also flattened into nothing.

All that was left was just a marriage certificate.

Therefore, Anthony showed a cold attitude towards Lillian and talked to her with disregard. He didn't bother to explain about Linda.

"Honey, I know that you're busy. You know me. I wouldn't have called you if there's nothing serious."

"I've given you your monthly allowance."

That was the first sentence that Anthony threw at her.

For Anthony, the serious thing for Lillian was none other than her inadequate allowance.

"No, I have enough money. If it's not enough, I wouldn't have called you in such a hurry too." Lillian paused and said, "Skylar is in jail."

"What?"

"I don't know what's going on. Today, the police went to Skyton Corporation and took Skylar away. Just now, the police came by the house and searched for evidence."

Lillian told him everything that happened to Skylar and what the news had reported.

Anthony's expression hardened.

"This is absurd. Who framed him?"

Anthony thought that someone must have framed Skylar.

After all, he had witnessed Skylar's talent in the business and there was no need for Skylar to use evil means.

"Who knows? I don't even know if Skylar had acted impulsively. Anyway, you should come back and solve this matter."

Skylar was Lillian's precious son. How could she let him go to jail?

After all, she used to brag about Skylar in front of others. If he were to be sentenced to prison, those people whom she had ridiculed before would come back and laugh in her face now.

"I'll look into it. If he can't solve such a trivial matter, then he wouldn't be able to step foot in the business world anymore."

In Anthony's opinion, this was not a big deal.

Although he had been abroad all these years, he still had a good grasp of Skylar's every move. He hadn't come across anyone who would want to harm Skylar. He hadn't expected for this matter to happen.
