Before the officer could return with food , Elysia succumbed to exhaustion .

Having skipped breakfast and spent an enormous amount of mental energy earlier , she fell asleep where she sat 

Her breathing was shallow , and she remained unnervingly still as she slept , prompting concerned murmurs from the livestream audience .

The glow of the memory ring emerged again , pulling everyone into another recollection .

It was that same small , old storage room – now ironically repurposed into the bedroom of the Drayton family’s eldest daughter .

” Rupert slammed his hand against the car horn , letting out a furious growl .

The livestream audience’s scathing comments only made things worse .

Some even wished he’d crash his car a thought that sent chills down his spine .

Shaken , he closed the app and tumed his car around , heading back to the mansion .

As he stomped through the halls , he was angrier as he thought , ‘ How had none of the servants reminded him of Elysia’s birthday ! And why had they allowed her to live in such a tiny , dingy room ! 

Rupert clenched his fists , rage coursing through him .

He resolved to fire every negligent staff member in the household .

The scene shifted again , cutting off the viewers growing indignation , 

Elysia appeared , still dressed in her usual modest attire .

But this time , her face was bare , free of makeup , and her hair was neatly pinned back .

As she walked through the school hallway , her pale , doll – like features drew everyone’s attention , 

“ Whoa , is she new ? How have I never noticed someone so cute before ? ” 

“ She’s so fair – skinned and adorable .

Do you think she’s a freshman ? Should we ask for her number ? ” 

Surrounded by curious peers , Elyssa’s heart began to race .

She lowered her head , her nerves visibly frazzled .

She had never been complimented for her looks before .

She should’ve felt happy , but instead .

All she felt was discomfort .

Being scrutinized and stared at by so many people made Elysia feel as though she had been tramported back to that lab .

The setting had changed , but the stares were just as piercing , searing into her like needles .

They made her entire body tremble , filling her with nausea and disgust 

Elysia wanted nothing more than to run , to escape these prying eyes
