CHAPTER 25: BLACK MAIL

"Long time no see honey!" Storm shouts from her balcony.

"I know, it's been forever."

She gasps then squeals descending the stairs and hugging me, she pulls back and inspects my neck.

"Oh my god! Congratulations" she squeals and I smile.

"Thanks" she looks at it longer and touches it, tingles spread around my neck and I gasp.

"That happens to me as well. So.... Did you do anything else" she smirks and my eyes widen.

A blush coats my cheeks and I shake my head frantically "o-of course not!" I exclaim.

She laughs "sureeeee" she smirks yet again.

"I did not..... Fully mate with him" I huff.

"Speaking of him when do I get to meet him again?" I roll my eyes and he walks out of the bushes.

"He was just a little late" I say and she smiles warmly.

"Welcome! Please come in, both of you" she ushers is inside and we sit on the black sleek couches in the lounge room.

Tyler walks into the room casually and smirks when he sees us "hello Luna and alpha" he bows, Luca stands up and shakes his hand. "Please just call me Lily" he nods giving me a small smile "and call him Luca" I glare at him quickly and he looks at me coldly. "Thank you Lily" I nod and Storm claps her hands together.

"So Luca..." She trails off testing out his name "Luca. Luca. Luca. Luca. Luca" she repeats trying it again, his eyes twitches in annoyance and I snort. Their eyes snap to mine and I quickly cough to cover up "something in my throat" I mumble and rub my hand against my throat.

"So you marker my best friend" Storm starts off, Luca starts coughing on air and I pat his back.

"I..um... Y-yes" he says after finishing his little coughing fit.

"What's it like?" She grins, he looks at the mark on her neck and raises a thick eyebrow.

"Um... Don't you know?" He cluelessly asks.

She giggles and waves her hand around "I meant what does it feel like to finally claim her as yours silly" I inspect him and he smirks suddenly. "It's great" he says leaning back on his arms.

"Details!" She quips.

He clears his throat "scares other males off...." Is that seriously all?

I feel disappointment sinking into my chest and I swallow the lump in my throat. So he doesn't like me one bit, that's what I thought. He is just listening to his male needs which is most likely sex, but I cannot give him that. I understand he's protective but all males are with their mates, it's their wolf side that makes them more protective.

"Oh" Storm says, I advert all eye contact and ignore Lucas stare.

I'm not mad I'm just... Upset. Upset but no surprised, he always does this to me. God he is so bipolar that I want to kick his Apple hole!

Don't even ask....

Luca clears his throat and nods, I keep my eyes off him otherwise I will break down if I look at him.

Realisation hits me in waves- he black mailed me so he could mark me!

He wasn't the one who wanted to mark me, his wolf was! He used me, I cannot believe him.

I stand up from the couch and look at Storm and Tyler "excuse me" I mutter and run to the door.

I open it and run down the steps towards the pack house, I run inside and hear him calling my name.

"Lily stop!" I shake my head and blink back the tears.

He doesn't deserve them.

He touches my shoulder and I spin around to face him "y-you Apple hole!" I shout.

"Apple hole?" He raises an eyebrow.

I ignore his statement "y-you black mailed me so you could mark me!" I shout.

A look of confusion confronts his face, don't believe it Lily. All of this is just a game to him, not real like I thought it was.

"What are you talking about Lily?" He runs his face in frustration.

"You lied" I whisper looking at the ground "you told me that you wanted to mark me because you want me and you don't want unmated males to look at me dirty. You told me that but it was a lie so your wolf could be happy having marked his mate, let me guess- he was whining?"

His face hardens "how could you accuse me of such a thing?!" He shouts.

"Because it's the truth and you know it! You only told Storm that it was to scare males off you fry head!" He glares at me.

"Fine believe that if you want, I honestly don't care!" It feels as if a hole is in my chest and it's being ripped apart at every end.

I thought living in that hell hole was bad but this is way worse, your mate telling you he doesn't care.

I look down and start to walk away, I sit on a stool in the pack kitchen and a maid smiles at me sympathetically.

"Good morning Luna Lily" I wave not bothering to correct her. "I'm June, would you like anything?" She asks and I nod.

"Toast please" I whisper, she smiles and nods turning around to the toaster and placing two bread slices in it.

I prop my elbow against the grey marble counter and lean my head in my hand, I thought this would be a good day.

She places the toast with Nutella in front of me and I bite into the first piece silently giving her a small smile.

I hear footsteps behind me and the smell of roses and spray wafts into my nose "I-I'm so sorry Storm" I say turning around with tears in my eyes.

She shakes her head and wraps her arms around me, I sob into her chest and she rubs my back.

"H-he really doesn't want me."

She growls "of course he does Lily! You didn't see the way he was looking at you at my house" she exclaims.

"H-how was he looking at me?" I ask.

She smiles "like you are his world."
