The tension in the room earlier had grown too thick for Kamala to stick around. Once Deonna fell asleep, she went back to the guest room to get some rest herself. She had no idea who Alex and Petra were but from the sounds of it, they weren't good wolves. Then again, who were good wolves around here? But Alex and Petra were so bad that it nearly gave Deonna a heart attack knowing they weren't dead.

Part of her wanted to know what she was up against, and she knew there was one person who would be able to tell her. She wasn't sure why she suddenly felt compelled to reach out to him and get information from him. But she didn't want to sit around and wait for something serious to happen and not be prepared.

Mateo was sleeping anyways, as was Deonna. Marlon was preoccupied with Deonna. She figured it would be a good time to sneak away for a few and find Bob.

She left the room and quietly walked down the hall. She knew Bob's room was a couple of hallways away; she only knew this because she got lost her first night at the manor and walked by his room. He tried to get her to come into his room, but she could see through his ruse and refused to go anywhere near him.

Before he could pull her into his room, Deonna showed up and told him off. She was thankful for Deonna for being there. This time, though, she was going to be alone. No one was going to be there to protect her against Bob. Yet, at the same time, she didn't feel as if she needed any protection.

Their last encounter was weird; Bob had stared at her as if he had never seen anything like her before. Typically, something like that would have been weird, but her wolf didn't seem to fear him or find him uneasy. In fact, her wolf acted as though she liked it. It was an unfamiliar feeling and part of her trusted him.

At least she trusted him enough to not attempt any harm against her.

She reached his door and paused for a moment; there was nobody in the halls and it seemed quiet. Her wolf could sense him inside his room; she could nearly see his silvery aura from within the door. She took in a deep breath before knocking lightly on the door. He could sense his hesitation before opening the door; perhaps he could sense her as well. He opened his door and his eyes widened at the sight of her standing there.

So, maybe he couldn't sense her.

She opened her mouth to say something, but her words got caught in her throat.

She gave him a sheepish smile and a lame chuckle; Kamala instantly hated herself after that.

Bob rose his eyebrows at her and then gave her a cocky smile; the smile she knew too well, and it made her roll her eyes almost instantly.

"Don't start," Kamala said before Bob could say anything. "I'm not here for pleasure," she added quickly.

The word pleasure stuck in her throat, and she wished she could take it back; her face turned multiple shades of red as embarrassment took over her.

His grin widened and this time a light laugh escaped his mouth.

"Then, why are you here?" He asked, raising his eyebrows.

"I wanted some information," she said softly, peering up at him.

He frowned and folded his arms across his chest.

"On?" He urged.

"Alex and Petra," she answered, keeping her tone low in case anyone was listening.

"What do you want to know?" He asked; he didn't sound malicious, only curious.

"Everything," she answered. "Who are they? Why are we so worried about them? They must be bad if it practically gave Deonna a heart attack thinking about them."

He sighed, he took a step into the hallway, and she backed up nervously. He looked around to make sure no one was watching or listening and then he stepped back into his room, leaving enough room for her to enter through the door. "Come on, I'll explain everything in here," he said.

She was hesitant before stepping into his room. He stared her over before rolling his eyes. He looked annoyed.

"Do you want to know the story or not?" He asked.

Kamala nodded and stepped into the room. He closed the door behind them and motioned for her to sit on the bed. She folded her arms across her chest and stared up at him, frowning.

"I think I'm okay standing," she said, a little bitterness leaking through her words.

He rolled his eyes again but then shrugged.

"Suit yourself," he said, sitting on his bed. "So, where do I start?" Bob asked, eyeing her.

"The beginning?" She suggested.

"Okay..." he paused to gather his thoughts. "Alexis is my brother," he stated.

Her eyes widened; she was unaware there was another Roessler boy.

"Brother?" She asked in awe.

"Twin brother to be exact. He was always the good one if you can believe that," Bob chuckled. "Good grades had a good head on his shoulders. Always followed the rules. When my mother was alive, he was her favorite because of how good he was." Bob seemed annoyed at that.

"You didn't get along?" Kamala asked.

"We fought like brothers. He was always cleaning up my messes," he explained.

She couldn't help but laugh.

"Sounds about right," she muttered; this made him roll his eyes again.

"He cared more about being the sole heir than I did," he paused as he caught a look at her surprised face. "Not that I didn't care," he added. "But I always just wanted to have fun. I think Deonna saw through that from the start." She smiled at that thought; that sounded like Deonna. She was good at reading people, even during their time on the slave farm.

"Father liked me the most and wanted me to be the sole heir because of my strength and my ability to lead. The kingdom feared me like they feared my father and that was something that my father always admired," Bob continued explaining. "That must have driven Alex crazy," Kamala stated.

Bob nodded and let out a small laugh.

"That's an understatement," Bob said back. "You should have seen his face when Mateo was born."

Her eyes widened.

"He was jealous of a baby?" Kamala asked in shock.

"To Alex, Mateo was just another competition for the sole heir. That's all he ever cared about. He was greedy and didn't care who he stepped on to get what he wanted," Bob explained.

"He tried to kill Mateo, didn't he?" Kamala said; she didn't need him to answer, it was obvious.

"Yep," he answered anyway.

"What about Petra? Kamala asked. "Where does she come into play?"

"Petra was a maid; she mainly worked around the kitchen. Sometimes she worked as Marlon's handmaiden. But she was hot..." Bob said with a grin.

Kamala felt red in the face at his terminology; her wolf felt a ping of jealousy. Another foreign feeling, she tried to brush away. He noticed her face and frowned.

"Sorry..." he muttered; he actually seemed sorry.

She rolled her eyes and decided to sit next to him on his bed. He moved over to give her some room; she sat with her hands on her lap and stared down at her feet.

"Go on..." Kamala said, trying to keep the jealousy out of her tone.

He cleared his throat before continuing.

"Anyways, she was in love with my father," Bob said.

Kamala shot him a look and her mouth fell open. It didn't surprise her that a maid would be in love with Marlon; he was handsome and almost everybody seemed to fancy him. Just like Bob, they were good with the ladies. But the fact that this Petra woman was in love with Marlon when clearly Marlon was in love with Deonna. That must have driven her mad too. Suddenly, everything started falling into place and making sense.

"She was jealous of Deonna..." Kamala whispered. Once again, she didn't need him to answer and didn't wait around for him to answer. "Did she try to kill Deonna?"

"Yes," Bob answered. "She was working with Alex to get rid of both Mateo and Deonna."

Kamala gasped.

"So, what happened? They obviously didn't succeed, and everything thought they were dead," Kamala asked.

Bob nodded.

"I found Petra trying to attack Mateo in the woods. Deonna was running towards them trying to stop her, but I knew she wasn't going to make it. So, I ran towards them myself and ripped her throat out. She fell back into the river and drifted off. That was the last we saw of her." "Wow..." Kamala breathed, staring up at him with big green eyes. "And Alex?" She asked.

"After Deonna got away with Mateo. I let Alex go. With the condition that he doesn't return. Its reputation would be ruined if he did, and he knew he was no match against me. So, he agreed with the terms and left," Bob explained.

"You let him go?" Kamala gasped. "Why would you let him go?"

Bob thought about it for a moment.

"Because he's my brother," he answered. "I can't kill my brother."

"That's really heavy..." she breathed.

"Yeah. Then Alex told me that he saw Petra in Mooncrest, which means she's still alive somehow," Bob finished explaining.

They sat in silence for a few moments as his words processed.

"Alex isn't going to stop until he gets what he wants..." Bob added.

"What does he want?" Kamala asked, with worry in her tone.

"To be the sole heir. Which means, he wants both Mateo and me dead," Bob answered.

Kamala's heart nearly fell into her stomach.
