As they got closer to the castle, Kamala was starting to feel something she had never felt before. It was like a surge of power that was going through her veins. She could feel the power of the castle and the power that the shield was bringing it. She knew at that moment that her dream was correct, and she was meant to be at that very location, coming to terms with what she truly was. Whatever she truly was. It still wasn't clear to her but this is what Nyx was telling her she needed to do. She said once she arrived at the spot, she would know exactly what to do.

She wasn't so sure about that though.

Even as she approaches the gates of the castle, she still wasn't sure what to do. She could only feel the power of the castle coursing through her body. But her wolf was staying silent, and it was irritating. Her wolf has gotten much louder lately, especially since meeting Bob, but now when she needed her to wolf the most, it chose to be silent.

She looked over at Deonna who was staring up at the castle intently. She was glad to have her best friend by her side, even if Deonna wasn't sure if Kamala could pull something like this off. She looked to the other side of her and saw Bob who was no longer looking at the castle but looking down at her.

She felt heat rising in her cheeks and her face turning different shades of red as their eyes met. Every time she looked at him, her heart would get sent into turmoil and it would beat rapidly against her chest like it was trying to escape or something. It was an unfamiliar feeling she wasn't sure she particularly liked, but she couldn't hide those feelings anymore.

She feared that if she kept bottling those feeling away, they would soon consume her until there was nothing left of her. S

She gave him a faint smile and looked back at the castle.

The approached the gates; she was relieved there were no guards to keep them away, and it appeared that the shield didn't start at the gates. Bob was the one who opened the gates for them to enter.

The closer they reached the castle doors, the more power she began to feel. She kept walking closer and she kept feeling even more powerful. She breathed in the powers that exfoliated her skin; she felt her fingertips tingling and her entire body practically going numb. She wasn't sure what was happening to her; she closed her eyes to take in the power. The feeling was incredible; she no longer felt like a weak slave that's been on the run for years. She no longer felt as though she was different than anyone; she finally felt equal. She felt powerful; she felt strong.

She opened her eyes slightly and noticed that Deonna and Bob were no longer by her side. They were standing behind her in awe; they were staring at her with wide eyes and gaping mouths.

"Kamala..." Deonna breathed, still staring at her in awe. "You're glowing."

Kamala looked at her friend with confusion for a long while, not understanding what she meant. She glanced over at Bob who had the same expression on his face as Deonna had. "It's beautiful," he breathed.

She looked down at her body and realized they were white. Surrounding her was a white light; it was a hazy glow of white that enclosed her body and made her aura shine through. She could hardly imagine what she must be looking like to them. But to her, she knew it was the power of the moon goddess.

She just wasn't sure why it was happening to her.

"What now?" Deonna asked her, still in shock over what she was seeing.

Kamala turned back towards the castle and placed her hand on the door.

It was almost like a light electric shock coursing through her fingertips; she could feel the resistance of the shield, pulling away from her. It was trying to fight her, but she was too powerful for even dark magic to win.

At that moment, she realized that she was light magic. She was the magic that was made to destroy dark magic. The only way to destroy the dark was with light.

She breathed in and closed her eyes; she felt the energy of her light magic expanding. She imagined it expanding around the castle grounds and through the yards. She imagined her powers growing stronger and that Nyx was coming to help with her own magic. Kamala could hear Deonna's shaky breath from behind her; she was astonished at what she was seeing and probably didn't understand it. Kamala didn't understand it either but she knew whatever she was doing, was probably working.

As her powers grew; her body began getting more tired. It was a lot of effort and it was draining her. She had never used magic like this before and she wasn't sure how her body was going to be able to handle it. She felt her wolf stirring uncomfortably. "Stop..." her wolf whispered hoarsely. "You are destroying me..."

She wanted to stop; she wanted to pull away from the shield because she knew the shield was basically broken and that she no longer needed to use her magic. But the light magic kept pulling her in; it was engulfing her and keeping her prisoned in the light. Something was wrong. She was out of control.

She took in a steady breath and more of the magic radiated off her body.

"Please..." her wolf cried out deep within her. Her wolf was terrified of what was happening and truth be told, Kamala was terrified as well.

"Kamala?" She heard Deonna stepping beside her. "You can stop now; it's open!"

Kamala wanted to tell her friend that she was unable to stop, but she was unable to speak. She couldn't even open her eyes. Her magic was taking over and draining her of everything she has. Her body and her wolf grew weaker with every breath she took. "Kamala!?" Deonna yelled, terror in her eyes. "You're bleeding from your eyes."

Something was seriously wrong.

What was once a beautiful sight and feeling were turning into an utter nightmare. She felt Deonna's hand on her shoulder, and she was shaken lightly to get her to snap out of it. "Kamala stop!!" Deonna cried; her voice cracking as she spoke.

Soon, she felt a huge weight crossing over her and she felt herself falling to the ground. The magic around her began ceasing to exist almost immediately. She felt a bit lighter with her powers diminishing and she felt as though she could finally breathe. She was no longer seeing the white light that was hidden behind her eyes, but it was back to its normal darkness.

She still felt weak, and her body trembled uncontrollably. She felt tears running down her features, or maybe it was blood like Deonna had said. She could hear and feel her wolf's deep breathing from within her; whatever was happening, almost completely destroyed her wolf.

Was it dark magic?

Was it her light magic?

"Kamala..." Bob breathed as he held her close.

She opened her eyes slowly and saw a worried Deonna staring down at her; Kamala was sitting on the ground with Bob nearly on top of her. He had her wrapped in his arms and he was kissing the top of her damp head. Blood was trickling down her narrow features and landing on the ground around her.

She was breathing heavily and confused as to where she was. She had lost track of time and had forgotten what she was doing.

"Bob..." she whispered in return as she pressed her face against his broad chest.

"It's okay... it's going to be okay," he whispered to her, pressing his lips against her temples.

"What the hell was that?" Deonna asked, wide-eyed and alert. She looked as though she was about to burst into tears at any moment.

"I don't know," Kamala whispered. She looked up at the castle; the dark hazy shield was completely gone, and the door was open a crack. Relief flooded over her as she realized the shield was broken. "But whatever it was... it worked," she said breathlessly, pointing

to the door.
