Chapter 55

Catalina's POV

To my surprise Jackson doesn't shift right away. He circles me with a smile.

"So sorry about your wolf little mouse. But I wanted to make it a fair fight." He hissed at me.

"You call this fair?" I ask sarcastically.

"I haven't shifted. I'm giving you a chance mouse." He says.

Yeah right. I don't believe him. He starts closing the circle. I need him to attack first and I need to hit him as hard as I can. I see him coming closer to me and I shuffle back, but slower than I normally would. Jackson doesn't know how far I am, he's never fought me before. I need to use that to my advantage. I move a little slower, avoiding him. Then he attacks. He moves quick towards me, but I'm quicker. He swings and misses me, I lay one punch to his rib and knock him on his a*s. I hit him as hard as I could, and I felt his bones break under my fist. He holds his side and groans. He shuffles back and stands up. I heard some excitement from the crowd. I try to go after him.

"You shouldn't have done that little mouse." He hisses and shifts into his wolf. I stop in my tracks and step away from him. His wolf is big and pissed off. Andrew's POV

I watch as Jackson swings at Lina and misses. Then I watch Lina punch him right in his ribs. With the force she punched him, she definitely broke some ribs. He fell back in pain and scurried away like a rat. The crowd cheers a bit. Then I see him shift into his wolf and my heart drops into my stomach. My mate was in trouble and there wasn't anything I could do about it. I see her back away from his large wolf. She glances up to me and our eyes connect just for a moment, before she looks back at the wolf. How is she going to fight this wolf? The wolf stalks towards her and she backs away from it. I hear murmuring in the crowd.

"Why isn't she shifting?"

"Why doesn't she bring her wolf out?"

Then Jackson lunges at Lina. She drops to the floor and kicks her legs up into Jackson's stomach, launching him up against a tree. His back lands on the tree and he falls to the ground. But he stands back up and shakes off his head. He stalks towards her again. The crowd is getting louder wondering why she hasn't shifted. Jackson lunges at her again, this time when Lina tries to dart out of the way, one of Jackson's claws catch her back and Lina lets out a small scream. Her shirt ripped and received 3 bleeding cuts and the scars of her past. The crowd gasps. Lina bit back the pain and ripped the rest of the shirt off exposing her arms too. The crowd started yelling, "Shift!"

"Shift into your wolf." I have had enough.

"SHE CANT!" I yelled over them. They looked at me confused.

"Someone slipped her wolfsbane before the fight and she has no wolf!" I explain.

"She went in there with no wolf?" Todd asks. All I could do was nod, I knew my voice would falter.

"I Todd Summers acknowledge Catalina Black as my High Alpha!" Todd shouted for everyone to hear. A wave of talking through the crowd.

"I Leon Marsh acknowledge Catalina Black as my High Alpha!"

"I Branson Flowers acknowledge Catalina Black as my High Alpha!"

"I Zayn Hill acknowledge Catalina Black as my High Alpha!"

"I David Black acknowledge Catalina Black as my High Alpha!" Catalina's POV

I felt Jackson's claws scrap across my back and I let out a little scream of pain. The scratch ripped open my shirt and I heard the crowd gasp from seeing my cuts and scars. I hear them shout out for me to shift. If they only knew how badly I wanted to. I ripped my shirt off and squared up with Jackson. I heard Andrew yelling but I was too focused on Jackson's mutt. But for some reason he was holding back. Then I felt a wave of power flow through me. It hit me like a ton of bricks and voices flowed through my mind. I look back at the crowd as another wave hits me. I need to focus, I don't know what's going on but Jackson can use this distraction to his advantage. I was hit by two more waves. Why isn't Jackson attacking.

"Attack me you mutt." I hiss, as another wave almost blinds me. I was feeling stronger by the second and more energized. Jackson growled at my words. He starts running at me and I try to dodge out of the way but Jackson throws me against a tree. I hit my back and fall. I get up and run away from the tree, he will try and pin my back up against it with no way out. His claw gets my arm and I am bleeding. Two more waves wash over me and it's getting easier to control the power. Jackson comes up behind me and lunges. I roll out and kick him in his broken side and send him flying. The power flowing through my body has enhanced everything about me. I am getting stronger with each wave. I wish I knew where they were coming from. Three more waves hit me but I barely notice now. I stand up and Jackson's wolf gets up, we are both visibly injured. He snarls at me. I feel one more wave of power just ask Jackson comes charging at me.

"We are ready." HELIA! Fire surges out of me. I feel the heat and see the fire. Jackson's charge at me stops as fear crosses his wolf's eyes. I smile. I lift off the ground. Controlling the fire comes so easy to me in this moment. I enclose Jackson in a circle of fire so he can not try and escape. I am not one to take someone life, but there is no way around this. I see Jackson trying to find a way out. He shifts back into human form when he's out of options.

"Catalina don't do this!" He pleads. Oh this is too good. He was going to beg for his life.

"Jackson you do not deserve Catalina's mercy after what you have done." Helia is in control. I didn't think I would be able to tap into her. I thought she was attached to Kayla. But she is her own, I can have one without the other. "Catalina please! I was forced to do things for to protect my family." He pleads

"Lies. This is for your greed!" Helia says.

"Julie poisoned you, I just gave her what to use." His words enraged me. How could Julie do this. I saw the fire leading to the crowd where Julie was sitting. But I needed to deal with her at another time. I was done talking to Jackson. I took my anger and focused on Jackson. I enclosed him in the fire and watched as the flames enfolded him until he was gone. A final rush of power filled me and I burned bright with the power. I slowly sank to the ground and Helia let go of control. The fire was out and Andrew and Jet came running over to me.

"Gamma Lucas. Arrest Julie." I mind link.

"Yes High Alpha." He replies.

The crowd was quiet and Councilmen Eric came to me too. I felt tired but Andrew and Jet help me to my feet.

"What happened? What was all that power?" I asked.

"My dear. It appears during your fight all the Alphas have acknowledged you as their High Alpha. Meaning they gave you their Alpha powers without council ruling. That was what you were feeling." Eric said. I was shocked "Why would they do that?" I asked.

"I told them you went in without your wolf. I think they were moved by your bravery they did what they could for you." Andrew said. Just then Gamma Lucas brought Julie towards us in handcuffs. Jet growls

"What is the meaning of this?" He spat at Gamma Lucas. Andrew stepped in front of Jet.

"She poisoned me." I say. Jet looked back at me confused.

"She put it in Lina's lunch." Andrew said. Jet looked completely crushed.

"Jules tell them that's not true. Tell them that's not what happened. Tell them!" He says looking at her. But her face was Stone cold. Jet staggers back.

"But.. but why Jules?" He was breaking right in front of us.

"Because you are mine and you are in love with her. ALL OF YOU ARE!" She yells and steps forward but Gamma Lucas pulls her back.

"Jet is my mate. The one who is supposed to choose me over anyone and yet he didn't! In his heart he chose you. Andrew chose you. Even my parents. You took everyone from me!" She hisses at me in Gamma Lucas' grip. "Julie. What has happened to you." I hear hurt in Raymond's voice.

"Put her in a cell. We will talk about what to do with her." I say.

"Her punishment for an attempt at your life is death High Alpha." Councilmen Eric says.

"I know Councilmen. And we will give her a punishment befitting her crime." I assure him. He nods in approval. I could have said this is a complicated problem, but that would have been weak. Speaking of weak, I feel my knees give out and grab on to Andrew and Jet. Gamma Lucas takes Julie away. My heart breaks for Jet and Andrew and also for my friend. How could I have not seen this. She was family, and yet she betrayed me. She betrayed us all.

"We need to get you to rest." Andrew says.

"I'm fine. I don't feel as drained as I typically do." I assure him.

"You should still rest." He says. Jet didn't say anything. I know he is struggling.

"High Alpha. I need to take my leave." Jet finally spoke. I nodded to him and he walked out of the facility.

"Do you trust him?" Councilmen Eric asks me.

"I do." I say as we watched him leave. Some of the other Alpha's came over to show respect and congratulate me. We are holding another meeting tomorrow where I will tell them about the upcoming war on our kind, but right now all I can think about is my bed. After some bowing and hand shaking, Andrew and I head back to the pack house. Andrew insisted on taking me to the pack clinic, even though my wounds were already healing. The pack doctor wrapped up my back and arm and said I was healing nicely. Andrew and I head up to our apartment. We walk into the bedroom and I start to undress.

"Let me, High Alpha." Andrew says wiggling his eyebrow at me. I smile and nod. He takes off my pants, slowly, slipping one leg out and then the other. He lays a few kisses on my thighs and slips my underwear off. He also helps me with what's left of my sports bra. Kissing my shoulder. He grabs one of his shirts and helps me in it. I crawl into bed and he crawls in after me. He pulls me into him. My back up against his body and his arms wrapped around me. I did it! I defeated Jackson. Im High Alpha, and currently Im Alpha of Red Stone Pack. Who was I going to appoint the pack Alpha? Would I keep it for myself. It might be time they have a good Alpha.. I drift off to sleep comforted by the thoughts that Alpha Jackson no longer exists.

Dream

I am in the middle of the ocean. I am walking on top of the water and it is very calm. There is ocean as far as the eye can see.

"My child." I melodic voice says behind me. I turn around and see the Moon Goddess. She is as beautiful as ever.

"Moon Goddess I mean Phoebe." She smiles at me.

"You have done well so far. You have United the packs and your Phoenix is powerful." She says walking towards me. I feel glad she is proud of me.

"But a big task is before you. The Alphas need to understand the seriousness of the task at hand. This army will be the last army of its kind. There will never be an army like this again. Lilith is making great strides with her sisters and the rest of the Fae." "What if they don't listen to me?" I ask. She gives me a kind smile.

"You were chosen for this. You are the only one who can." She pauses.

"Where is Kehlani?" She asks.

"Im not sure. Someone gave me wolfsbane and Kayla has been gone ever since." I say.

"That won't do." She says. I felt a pull and then Kayla.
