Alphas Broken Mate -
Chapter 56
Catalina's POV
I woke up from my dream out of breath.
"The Moon Goddess?" Andrew asked behind me. I was still wrapped in his arms. I guess he was getting used to my dreams with her.
"Yeah." I whispered. I heard him move and he rolled me over to face him.
"What happened?" He asked in his sleepy husky voice.
"She was telling how important this army will be and to make sure I tell the Alphas. She said there will never be another army like this." I said. Then remembered Kayla. "Kayla?" I asked in my mind.
"I'm here but I'm weak. Give me a day." She says and I breathe a sigh of relief.
"Kaylas back." I tell Andrew. He smiles and kisses my forehead.
"Good. Rest love. It's still very early and we have a lot to do when we wake up." Andrew kisses me again and lays back down. He wraps me up and breathes me in. I feel Andrew's warmth around me and fall back asleep. When I wake up again I feel delicate finger tips tracing my side. I roll over and lay my head on Andrew's chest.
"Good morning love." He says in his husky voice.
"Good morning" I say and kiss his chest.
"We have about 3 hours before our meeting today." He says. I groan. We need to gather everyone to discuss how we are going to convince the Alphas to give me their army.
"I would love nothing more than to stay in bed with you and kiss every inch of your body. You deserve a day off after what happened yesterday." He says kissing the top of my head. "But?" I look up at him.
"My parents are on their way up." My eyes widen. I sit up.
"I need to get dressed and so do you. Go put some coffee on." I jump out of bed and grab some clothes. I hear Andrew laughing at me and I roll my eyes. Raymond and Flora do not need to see me like this. "Andrew please." I pout. He smiles.
"Of course love. Coffee it is." He sighs and gets out of bed. I allow myself a moment to look over his body. His broad shoulders and perfectly sculpted body just makes me want to jump on top of him.
"Lina, you better stop or I'll kick my parents out to have you everywhere in this apartment." Andrew says breaking me out of my daydream. I clear my throat and go into the bathroom. I splash some cold water on my face and brush my teeth. I get dressed and come out. I hear voices in the other room and I walk out to join them. I am immediately wrapped up in a hug by Flora, it was a tight hug.
"Oh dear I'm so ashamed of what Julie did to you. I'm so thankful you are ok. I just can't believe her. She's never been the jealous type. I'm so sorry." She is definitely crying. I know she is worried about what will happen with her daughter. Honestly I'm not sure what to do with her. For my family and Jet's sake I don't want to kill her, but she is a danger to my life. She finally releases me and pulls me back.
"Dear, you are the High Alpha now. You can not let your personal feelings get in the way of judgment." She says with a stern face.
"I know. But there are no rules on how quickly that judgement has to take place. I need time to sort it all out." I say. She nods in understanding and she brings me over to the guys. I grab a cup of coffee as we wait for everyone to join us. Rachel and Murphy joined, of course bringing food. Gamma Lucas and surprisingly Jet joined us too. He definitely didn't look like himself. I wanted so badly to talk to my friend, but I knew now wasn't the time.
"High Alpha, how are you feeling?" Gamma Lucas asks. I could feel the pride pouring out of him as he addressed me as High Alpha. It made me smile. I looked at the bandage on my arm and unwrapped it. Since I woke up I hadn't noticed any pain. When I took the bandage off I was healed completely. Everyone looked and it and were just as surprised to see it healed.
"Seems I'm all healed." I say
"One day we won't be surprised by how powerful you are High Alpha." He just had to throw the title in there one more time.
"Right you are Lucas." Raymond chuckles.
"This meeting Lina will be addressing the Alphas to tell them what is coming. She needs to get them to give her their armies. We have two weeks left. We need to train harder and so do all the packs. Who will be the hardest to convince?" Raymond asks.
"I don't know if he'll be the hardest to convince but Leon Marsh should be the first we should try and get. Stone Mountain Pack has the best warriors among all the packs. We should ask from him to help train the other packs." Andrew says, Raymond and Gamma Lucas both nod in agreement. I glance over at Jet and I notice him looking at me. I don't hold his eyes for long and look away. I bet he blames me for Julie, his mate. Goddess I need to focus. Screw this. I stand.
"Jet can I have a word with you." The room falls silent. Jet stands up and we walk to the front door. I know everyone's eyes are on us. We stepped outside and stopped. Well great now that we are out here, what the hell am I going to say? "Jet.."
"Lina, I'm so sorry." He cuts me off. He is not looking at me. He's ashamed.
"I should have told you. I knew something was off with her, but I didn't know it was this bad."
"What do you mean off?" I ask.
"Every time someone mentioned you she would get all stiff and annoyed. I thought she was just being jealous and I tried to reassure her that nothing was going on. But she never believed me. This is all my fault. I'm so sorry Lina. Please forgive me." He finally looks up at me. Of course he feels bad. He gave an oath of protection and his mate dishonored it by her actions. He has got to be going through so much in his head.
"Jet, I'm sorry. I should have noticed too. But everyone was surprised by what she did. People that have known her for her entire life. I am fine Jet, I survived. And I haven't decided what to do with Julie yet. That will probably be the hardest decision I make. But I'm not making it right now." I sigh.
"Jet I know you are going through so much right now, but I need you. I need you here in that room." I say. He nods.
"I'm here High Alpha." He wiggles his eyebrows at my new title. He cracks a small smile, which is a start.
"Thanks Jethro." I haven't used his full name ever and the shock on his face is priceless. I bust out laughing and walk back in. Everyone looks at us.
"What's so funny?" Murph asks.
"Nothing." Jet and I say together. We join the group again and I'm glad I got to talk to Jet. We talked a while about the different Alphas and each one of their concerns and needs for their packs.
"And Lina since you are the Alpha of Red Stone Pack, you can get their army." Murphy says.
"Actually the councilmen have suggested I choose an Alpha in my place." I say
"I can understand that. You will have a lot on your plate as High Alpha." Raymond says.
"I honestly still don't know what it means to be High Alpha. But looking at the time, I need to get ready for the meeting and get down there." I say. Raymond smiles and nods. They all leave and I head into the bedroom. I ask Andrew to check the bandages on my back and the cuts were completely healed. I got dressed and headed down to the meeting hall. But this time everyone was waiting out in the lobby instead of the hall. I look up at Andrew confused.
"They are waiting for you to enter first. You are the High Alpha, you go in first, and this is your meeting." He says in my mind link so no one will hear. I love this man. I smile and greet a few Alphas and lead them into the hall. It's the same hall as yesterday but the set up is a bit different. Andrew takes his place with the Alphas and there is a higher seat at the councilman's table. I greet the councilmen at the table.
"I will start the meeting and then turn it over to you, if that pleases you?" Eric says. I nod in agreement.
"High Alpha it is an honor to have you with us." Koa says and bows. He is very formal.
"My dear we look forward to your training. Too long have we've been just men." George says in his accent that I love. I smile at him and we all take our seats.
"Alphas and Councilmen. Yesterday we witnessed something like never before. Both on the field and off. I know we are all proud of our new High Alpha and her bravery and power. She has requested a special meeting with us to discuss some news. Alphas, High Alpha Catalina." Eric says and I stand. I hear clapping as I take my place.
"Thank you. Thank you everyone for what you did for me on that field. You helped me defeat my enemy." I pause a moment for the bomb I'm about to drop.
"But even though my personal enemy has been defeated. We have a new enemy coming." They all grew still.
"We, all the children of the Moon Goddess have a war coming. It is a war that can not be avoided. It is a war generations in the making. It is older than all of us. But it is up to us to bare its burden. I know that you will all have questions and I will do my best to answer all of them. The information I have is not much. I do know that it will happen in two weeks time." I hear whispers around the room.
"It will be against two Gods, Zeus and Pan." Louder whispers.
"Werewolves are not the only creatures they are coming for. Witches and the Fae will be fighting with us." Even more whispers.
"Alphas please." Trying to get them to quiet down.
"I am but one piece to this puzzle. I can not fight them alone, but you know I will if I have to." I say.
"What do you need from us, High Alpha?" Alpha Zayn asks.
"Your armies. Anyone who can fight. This is going to be a war like no other. So I need an army like never before." More chatting and whispering in the crowd.
"Alphas" I raise my voice to more of a command.
"I know this is not a lot of time. I know this is a lot to ask. And I know this is a sacrifice for everyone. I can't guarantee the lives of those you send. I can't even guarantee my own. But if we don't pull together as one, everyone will be lost." I let them rest on my words. "How do you know all of this?" Alpha Branson asks.
"The Moon Goddess has told me. My wolf is Kehlani, her cursed daughter. She is a direct link to the Moon Goddess. The Sun God gave me the gift of the Phoenix, which is what you all saw. The Sun God is the Moon Goddesses brother and also told me of the up coming war." There are more whispers. I look back at Eric, and he looks proud. Did he know? I need to talk to him.
"You will have my army!" I hear and turn to see Todd standing. I really need to thank him for his support. He smiles at me. Eric comes next to me.
"Alphas please stand if you are going to send your armies." One by one they stand.
"I don't have much of an army left, but she can have what it is." David said and stood. Soon every Alpha was standing. I smiled out at them and the hope I had for this war. Eric clapped me on the shoulder.
"First day as High Alpha and you brought all the armies together. That is something I never thought I'd see. You truly are something." He says.
"Thank you Councilmen." I say.
"Alphas." I say turning to them and gesturing for them to have a seat.
"Thank you all for your support. Now this doesn't give us a lot of time. Alpha Leon can you spare a few warriors to train some of the other packs?" I ask
"Yes High Alpha." He says.
"Alphas the two weeks we need to push our warriors in training. They need to be prepared for anything." I say. They all nod their heads.
"Does anyone have any questions for me?" I didn't want them to just follow blindly. I wanted them to understand all of this.
"How will we know when to return?" Theo asks
"I am High Alpha. I can link all of you now." I say with a smile.
"If there are no more questions Alphas. There is much to prepare for. Please make your arrangements as soon as possible." Eric says and the Alphas stand.
"My dear how magnificent you were." George says.
"Thank you councilmen." He waves his hand.
"George. Please call me George. Only Koa still calls everyone by their title." Koa just bows. He's not ashamed of his formal behavior.
"Thank you gentlemen. Is there anything you all can do to help?" I ask.
"Do you have a plan on how to defeat the Gods?" George asks
"Lilith said we can try and trap them like they did the Titans." I said.
"Lilith?" Eric says
"Interesting" George adds.
"We will look into this for you. We aren't much in the fight other than Ryan and Koa. But we can research with the best of them. We will look into this and come back in a week." George says. They bow and take their leave. I walk over to Andrew talking to Todd. "There she is." Andrew says.
"Alpha Todd. I wanted to say thank you." I say
"For what High Alpha? And please just call me Todd." He says with a smile
"For supporting me. Andrew told me you acknowledged me as High Alpha first and for today. It's truly an honor." I say. His smile widens.
"The first moment Cass and I met you. We knew you were different. We'd follow you to the ends of the earth." He says with pride.
"Oh how is she and the baby?" I asked.
"She's glowing. She's going to be mad to miss the war. But she will prepare the warriors though." He says.
"I need to return home and help with the preparations. High Alpha, Andrew." He bows and leaves. I turn to Andrew.
"I'm never going to get used to this title." I say with a sigh.
