Chapter 103

Eda

My mother smiles as she says, "You are mated to the Alpha of the Scarlet Pack? You are mated to Evan and Claudia's son?"

I bite my tongue, so I don't correct her by saying 'son's' it's bad enough that she knows that Osborn is my mate.

She shakes her head as she lets out an unhinged laugh. She then opens the door and calls out, "Master Wraith! Master Wraith!"

There's a pit in my stomach as I watch the door to see him come in. He looks annoyed already. He looks at me like I'm the dirt on the bottom of his shoes. My mother says, "Master, she is mated to the Alpha. She can help us get our hands on a true elf." His smile grows wide, and he says, "I always knew you would be good for something. We'll send her and the girl on their way. Eda, we will be watching you. Make sure to give us an opportunity to get the Alpha out on his own."

My eyes flicker between my mother and Master Wraith. I know I can't argue with him if I do it will only cause pain for either me or Alita. I nod my head slowly as I say, "Yes, Master."

He smirks at me and says, "The girl is in cell 7, you can get her and leave."

I nod as he walks out of the room and leaves the door open. My mother smiles at me as she says, "I'm so proud of you, Eda."

I gulp as she leaves, and I follow out the door. Cell 7, I need to get Alita before anything bad can happen to her.

Alita

I don't understand what happened. We were going for a walk, I noticed some patrol missing and turned for us to go back home, and then suddenly we were taken.

I'm in a room, all by myself. No one has come to see me and I need to use the restroom. I gulp as I sit on the floor and twiddle my thumbs as I try to think of something, anything I can do.

I've already checked the door and it's locked. I think of my family.

My parents will be distraught, especially my mother. Upset that one of their children was taken yet again.

My brothers... I know Peelle will be heartbroken. We're best friends and on top of that, Eda is his mate, his other half. And now the girl he wanted for so long has disappeared.

The door suddenly slams open and a frazzled looking Eda looks at me and says, "Come on, we have to go!"

I rush to my feet and follow her lead as she finds an exit. My heart is in my throat, terrified we'll get caught at any moment.

We get outside and run like our lives depend on it because well... they do.

We don't speak, we don't slow down, all we do is run until we find our way back home.

When we burst through the pack house, my whole family even my extended family is there. My mom jumps to her feet as she hugs me and says, "Oh, thank the goddess, are you okay? What happened to you two?"

Peelle rushes to Eda's side as she breathes heavily, trying to regain her breath. I say, "Eda saved us. I don't know where we were, I don't know who took us, but I was locked away and terrified and suddenly, Eda appeared and she found a way out." Peelle hugs her tightly and then kisses her and says, "You saved my sister. You're incredible."

Osborn steps forward and says, "You saved Alita."

Eda looks at him with wide eyes and she nods in confirmation. His face looks conflicted and suddenly he walks over and grabs her face and kisses her.

Everyone's jaws drop from that and when he lets go of her face you can see the shock from her. Osborn seems unfazed as he steps away from her and then walks away, going up the stairs to his room.

Eda looks around and murmurs, "Well, that was unexpected."

Peelle places his hand on her back and says, "Come on, you should get some rest. I'll have an omega bring us some food."

She nods her head as he leads her out of the room.

I look to my mom and dad who are looking at Aunt Raf, Uncle Leon, Aunt Abby, Uncle Ken, Uncle Breda, Uncle Solomon, and Aunt Alena. It's like they were all having a silent conversation and then my mom smiles at me and asks, "Are you okay, sweetheart?" I nod, "I'm fine." My dad adds, "No one harmed you?"

I shake my head no and say, "I didn't even see anyone outside of Eda. I could only hear their faint voices."

My dad nods as he comes over and hugs me and whispers in my ear, "I'm so happy you're okay."

I hug him back, but once he lets me go, I dismiss myself. I can tell all the adults want to talk and that I'm just getting in the way.

Claudia

Once Alita leaves, everyone looks at each other. Raf smiles at me as she says, "Looks like our young Alpha is finally warming up to his Luna."

Ken scoffs, "It took him long enough, seems like he's a bit too similar to his dad."

Evan puts his arm around my waist as he growls, "Watch it."

Ken chuckles in response and Abigail says, "It's good to see him warming up to her. He's had such a hard time connecting to anyone since that attack when he was young."

Ken puts his arm around Abigail knowing how bad it's affecting her. My Aunt Alena says, "Don't you think it's odd that Alita never saw anyone? On top of that... you haven't had any issues in years. This seems... random." Breda adds, "It seems planned."

Evan asks, "Who would want to take Alita?"

Solomon says, "She has stronger elf traits than either of the boys do."

I ask, "So? They would've taken her blood or interacted with her in some way... don't you think?"

Leon says, "We just need to be on alert guys. Something is fishy here, and I'd be surprised if this was the last attack."

Evan nods, "No one needs to be near the borders unless they've had formal training. I'll speak to Osborn about it in the morning."

I breathe out as I nod in agreement. I want to be happy that Alita and Eda are okay, but they're right. Something is fishy about this.
