Evan

Claudia is brilliant. It took us just over 1 day to get the perfect consistency for the fake blood vial. Now all we can do is wait to rendezvous and get our son home.

I walk to our bedroom so I can show her the final product of the vial and as I enter our room I can hear her in the bathroom as she throws up.

My eyebrows furrow in confusion and concern. How long has she been sick for? Have I been too busy to notice her when she's struggling?

I'm doing the best I can to get our son back, but to also give Claudia and Peelle the time that they need and deserve from me.

She walks out of the bathroom as she wipes her mouth and she looks at me with wide eyes as she says, "Darling, I didn't hear you come in."

I walk towards her as I ask, "How long have you been sick?"

She tilts her head to the side and shakes her head, "I'm fine, Evan, no need for you to worry."

I grab her arm and move her to face me as I say, "Claudia, you are my mate, my wife, and the mother of my children. I will always worry about you. I've noticed you haven't been eating much lately and now you're throwing up. That isn't healthy. What's going on?"

I think back on all the time that I have been with her and literally the only times I've ever seen her throw up is when she was hungover or when she was pregnant. I sniff the air and there's no alcohol on her, so I know she hasn't been drinking. Could she be pregnant?

My heart leapt with excitement at the thought. I've wanted us to have our third child for a while now, could this be the time?

I'll admit... it's not ideal timing, but the moon goddess works in mysterious ways and maybe this is how it was supposed to be.

She hasn't answered me, and I question, "Could you be pregnant, Claudia?"

She laughs out loud and shakes her head, "No, no, that's not possible, Evan. I've just been anxious over Osborn being gone. It's nothing, really, I promise."

"If you say so, dear, but why don't you take a test just to be certain?"

Her eyebrows furrow as she glares at me and says, "No, there's no reason to take a test when I already know that there's no way I'm pregnant."

My gut is telling me that she is so I can't help but question, "How can you be so sure?"

She rolls her eyes as she side steps and walks past me as she says, "Just drop it, Evan."

"How can I drop this, Claudia? Why not just take a test to show me that you aren't? What are you so scared of?"

She snaps, "Because it feels like I'd be replacing him!"

My face softens as I say her name, "Claudia."

She shakes her head, "It's been two weeks since he was taken, Evan. I want my son back. Right now, it doesn't matter if I'm pregnant or not. Focus on yourself and focus on finding Osborn." "But, Claudia, if you're pregnant then you need to be seen by a doctor."

She waves her hand dismissively, "I wouldn't be going to the doctor until I was six weeks along. Right now, the furthest I'd be is 4 weeks and even that is pushing it. I know not to drink and take certain medications during early pregnancy. So, I won't. I don't need to see a positive test; I can just take the precautions."

Claudia takes a heavy breath as she walks toward the door. She stops in the doorway and looks over her shoulder and says, "We just... we need to find Ozzy."

She walks away, her footsteps echoing throughout the pack house, and I take a deep breath and take out the vial that I had in the pocket of my shirt. It's time to find my son.

Osborn

These guys are a bunch of idiots if they think they won't die for the things they've done. Taking the future Alpha and the son of the Alpha of the Scarlet Pack. They screwed up big time.

I lay in the bed they gave me and throw a ball up and down. It's so boring here, why did they want me in the first place? Especially since they weren't going to do anything with me!

The door to my room opens and I don't even bother looking toward it knowing that it's going to be the same guy it always is.

He greets me, "Osborn."

"Poop face."

He tries and fails to suppress his growl. I can't help but smirk from it though, it's so easy to get underneath his skin.

He remarks, "That's no way to speak to the person that's going to let you go home today."

I sit up and look toward him, "What are you talking about?"

"All I need is for you to be a big boy and let us take some of your blood. Then we'll bring you right back to mom and dad."

I tilt my head to the side as I ask, "If that's all it took then why didn't you tell me that like a week ago."

The man's jaw tightens and once again I take these moments I have alone with him to really observe what he looks like. My dad has talked about how important it is to notice the little detail and in case there's some reason mom and dad can't catch him then I need to be able to say what this guy looks like.

He always wears clothes that looks like he's in the military. But some days he looks really relaxed, like today he just wears a white t-shirt and jeans. His dark hair is always brushed back, and I've never seen him with any hair on his face. He has a strong jaw that he clenches anytime he gets annoyed by me. He also has a scar on his right eyebrow.

He has a short temper, has never told me his name, and I think I've caught a glimpse of a tattoo on the back of his neck, but I couldn't tell what it was.

He shakes his head at me and says, "It doesn't matter, Osborn. Do we have an agreement? I have a doctor take your blood and then I'll take you home."

I ask, "No harm will come to my family, right?"

He shrugs, "Not during this trip. Not unless they cause some trouble."

I nod, "Fine, let's get it over with."

It's the first time I've seen him smile and he says, "Great, I'll get the doctor."

He rushes towards the door, but I can't resist asking, "What do you need my blood for anyway?"

He stops walking and freezes in the doorway and turns his head back to me as he says in a low tone, "That's none of your concern, boy."

"Well, it's my blood, so I think it's my concern." I retort.

He bangs his fist against the door as he says, "I could easily get all the blood I want from you by ending your pathetic life, what do you think of that?"

"I think we both know that if you killed me that my dad wouldn't hesitate to make your death the most miserable and painful thing you've ever experienced."

His jaw clenches again before he stomps out of the room.

I breathe out as I lie back on my bed and throw the ball in the air.

Don't worry mom and dad. I'm coming home. And I remember everything you've taught me, so we'll all be okay.

The doctor walks in the room and I'm surprised to see a lady. I've been here for two weeks and she's the first woman I've seen. Behind her is another little girl that's roughly my age. I smile softly as I wave at her.

Her eyes widen before she rushes behind the woman's dress making the woman laugh as she says, "You can say hello, sweetie."

The girl shakes her head before putting her face into her mom's skirt. She's cute, her actions remind me of Laila.

The woman says, "I'm just here to take your blood, kid, and then I'll be on my way."

She's the first person who hasn't called me by name and I can't help but wonder why. She starts prepping to draw my blood and I ask, "Do you know what they need my blood for?"

She scoffs, "Hon, they don't tell me anything. They just tell me what to do."

The girl behind her nods her head in agreement. I smile at her as I say, "I'm Ozzy, who are you?"

She shakes her head and mumbles, "It doesn't matter."

My eyebrows furrow from her statement and I wince when I get poked with the needle. But when I didn't cry the lady handed me a lollipop and says, "That's for being a brave little boy, Ozzy. Take care of yourself." I call out, "You too!"

She and the little girl leave, and I can't help but smile. I'm about to see my family again! Finally!
