Claudia

I can't help but walk and clean around our pack house. It's what I do when I'm nervous.

It's the middle of the night and we're waiting for our son to be released and come back home to us.

There's a feast in the dining room waiting for him since we don't know how much he has eaten. The pack doctor is on call and ready to come whenever we ask him to. I need to hug my boy and know that he is okay.

Evan looks over at me and says, "Claudia, you don't need to worry about cleaning."

I can't help but glare at him and he put his hands up like he was surrendering so we wouldn't have an argument. I can't help but roll my eyes at him as I continue to scrub the counters. I have to do something useful otherwise I'll be eaten up by my anxiety. The door opens and we see two guards walk in with Ozzy standing in between them. I fall to my knees as tears stream down my face and I wrap my son in the tightest hug possible. He hugs me back but after a moment he pats my back and squeaks out, "Mom, too tight."

I let him go with a relieved laugh as I wipe the tears from my eyes and I say, "I'm sorry, buddy. I was just so worried about you. I'm so glad you're okay."

He smiles softly at me and then his eyes meet his dads. He says, "I'm sorry, dad, I should've fought harder, but... our pack was at stake. I needed to think like an Alpha... I was just trying to be like you."

Evan has tears in his eyes as he hugs Osborn tightly and I hear his soft voice as he says, "You don't need to be like me, son. When it's your turn to become Alpha, I'm sure you'll do a better job than I have. I am so proud of you. You were so brave, but I am so glad to have you home."

Evan lets go of him and I say, "Hey Ozzy, are you hungry? We've got food in the dining room and it's all your favorite."

He smiles at me and nods happily as he takes both mine and Evan's hand and we walk to go eat together. My heart is happy knowing that he is safe, but I'm sure there will be repercussions from what we did.

We played a dangerous game by faking the blood vial and I know that we will have to pay the price. I just hope next time my boys won't get caught up in the crossfire.

We sit at the table and Evan holds my hand and gives me loving looks here and there, both of us happy and relieved to be here. Osborn tells us that nothing happened to him. He was brought to some building and only spoke to the man who took him as well as a nurse and her daughter.

I ask, "Why did you see a nurse, Osborn?"

"Oh, they took my blood." Evan's hand clenches mine. Why did they need his blood?

There are too many bad things that can happen by possessing someone's blood. What could they do to our little boy?

Osborn doesn't notice our concern as he says, "Oh, dad, I made sure to look at the details of the man just like you taught me. He wears military clothes, he has dark hair and it's always brushed back, he doesn't have facial hair, he clenches his jaw when he gets upset, and he has a scar on his right eyebrow! He never told me his name, I liked to call him poop face to make him mad."

Both Evan and I smirk when he said that and he keeps going, "I think he has a tattoo on the back of his neck, but I couldn't tell what it was."

Evan nods in approval as he says, "You are so observant, Ozzy. That's going to help us a lot."

Osborn smiles and puffs up his chest in pride. Shortly after he lets out a long yawn and I ask, "Are you ready to go to bed? I bet you've missed your brother."

He nods his head eagerly and asks, "Is Peelle okay? Was he hurt? Is he mad with me?"

Evan rubs his head and says, "Peelle is fine, bud. He wasn't hurt and he's not angry. He was just worried about you, we all were."

Osborn lets out a sigh of relief and I nod towards the staircase as I say, "Come on, let's go to bed."

He nods as he lets out another yawn. I bring him to his room and he runs straight to his brothers bed as he whispers, "I'm back, Peelle."

Peelle immediately pops up and hugs his brother and I smile softly as I close the door to their room. I'm sure they'll stay up late tonight, but that's okay. Whatever makes them feel happy and comforted.

I walk to our room where Evan is waiting on the bed. He looks up at me and the corner of his mouth twitches up when he sees me. He takes a deep breath and says, "We got him back."

I nod as I sit down beside him and I say, "Yeah, we did. Thank the goddess."

He smiles at me and says, "So... when will you take a test?"

I press my lips together, "I'll do it in the morning. Right now, I just want to enjoy knowing that the boys are safe and sound and I'm with you."

He kisses my head and says, "Whatever you want, love. I'm sorry about all of this."

I shake my head, "Stop, Evan, it's not your fault. Even if I stayed home with the boys this still could've happened. They're wanting elf blood and it's a miracle they released Peelle."

He nods in agreement and whispers, "I'm so glad we're all safe."

Evan tilts my chin up so that I face him and gives me a sweet kiss. We lie down in bed, and he holds me tight, and I know he won't let go of me the rest of the night.

My head popped up and my feet hit the ground as I rushed to the bathroom. I can faintly hear Evan's voice as he calls out, "Claudia, are you okay?"

My knees hit the ground as I throw up into the toilet. My whole body shakes as more vomit comes out of me. Evan comes up behind me and holds my hair back as he says, "I'm so sorry, baby."

Once I'm done I flush the toilet and mumble, "Go get me the damn test."

He lets out a humorless laugh before jumping up and doing as I said. He brings it back to me and I say, "Give me a minute."

Evan nods as he leaves me to do my business. It doesn't even take a minute before the stick shows a giant plus sign. I walk out and wave the pregnancy test in the air as I say, "Congratulations, you did it again."

He rushes over and wraps me in a hug before peppering my face with kisses causing me to laugh. He holds my face and looks me deep in the eyes as he says, "I love you so damn much, Claudia. Thank you for giving me another perfect gift."

He leans down and kisses my belly making me roll my eyes. He's lucky he's cute and we make damn cute babies because otherwise I'd be mad from all this throwing up.

He tells me, "Take your time getting ready. I'll get the boys up. Do you want some orange juice? That helped with your nausea last time."

I nod, "Yes please. Crackers too!"

"I'm on it!" He calls out as he rushes out the door. I breathe out as I touch my stomach, I can't believe we're having another baby.

Evan

I am absolutely elated that we're having another baby. I've wanted another one for a couple of years now and now my dreams are coming true!

I walk to the kitchen, ready to get Claudia's stuff before getting up the boys. I hear rushed footsteps enter the room and I turn to see one of my guards, pale faced and panting as he stares at me. My eyebrows furrow as I turn to him and ask, "What's going on?"

He holds out a small package with my name scribbled on it. I'm hesitant to take it from him, there's no telling what's in there. He tells me, "We already opened it, Alpha."

He gulps nervously as I take the package and set it on the counter. I open it up and I see the vial we had sent to the rogues, only now it's broken. And there's a note that says, "You'll regret your choice."

I understand why my guard was nervous, he knows that I don't take being threatened lightly, especially when it comes to my family

My heart stops in fear of what's to come. I will do anything it takes to keep my family safe. I clench my eyes shut as I force myself to breathe out. I will make them pay for thinking they could mess with the Scarlet Pack.
