Chloe's POV:

I tried to hide the smile that was forcing its way to my lips, loving how everything was acting out just how the Dracula had planned for it to happen o. Today, I was going to kill two birds with one stone.

"Finally," the newcomer in a black cape spoke. "We get to meet!"

"Only," I started to reply, putting up a finger. "This wouldn't be the first time meeting you... Vodos," I replied, loving the look of surprise that snuck unto his face.

"You know me," he actually stated, more than asked. His head cocked to the side and even though he was my mother's attempted murderer, I still couldn't help but notice that he was handsome. The twins looked nothing like him! It was obviously clear that all three had gotten out morphology from our mother, giving us all a splitting resemblance. "How do you know me?"

I almost groaned, when I remembered that I was here to fight and not scrutinize Vodos. "I know you well enough to know that; you are my mother's former husband-"

"Husband!" He hissed, his eyes glowing a furious red. Whatever demon was inside of the man, it had to be a very deadly one.

"-and you had attempted killing her multiple times, have you not?"

"I had," the reply rolled off his tongue easily. "And I regret that I had not been the one to do it myself or who knows, I might still have a chance?" He suggested, his eyes glistening with mirth.

I swallowed, pursing my lips as I shared a confused look with Angelo, before turning back to Vodos. "My mother is already dead, what do you mean by you could still get a chance?

"Dead?" He scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Maybeyou should ask your grandfather, the old fool might be kind enough to put your of the dark."

"Do not speak of what you do not know," I condemned, getting n approving nod from Angelo. It was a good thing that we had left Jason to keep guard outside, just in case anyone was to come along and that anyone I was referring to, is my husband. If Jason was in here, he would have lost it and maybe throttled his father to the ground.

"I," he started. "Only say what I am sure of. So when I say I will kill you today, just know I would!"

Before I knew it, he was across the room in a flash. He had grabbed me by the neck and flung me, my back collided with the wall in a very painful thud. Angelo made a move to come to my rescue, but I raised up a finger, signalling him not to. We couldn't risk Vodos seeing him now, the plan would be ruined!

Not letting him stand over me for too long, I levitated off the ground and suspended in the air. I turned to see the shocked face of Alpha Edwin who had turned a pale shade like he had just seen a ghost, then I waved at him.

"Holy goddess," he muttered. He took a couple of steps away from me. "What in the hell are you?!" Incredulity laced in his voice, like the main idea of my existence, was utterly incredible.

Vodos didn't look so surprise, but I guess he had expected to confront a baby demon and was not ready for what he was seeing. He scoffed at Edwin's question. "Do you not see that she is a mixed breed? What sort of stupid question is that?!" He snapped.

And I tried not to chuckle. It was good tht at least, my stepfather and I, agreed on one thing before I could say my final goodbye to him. Vodos was going down and it was a sad thing that he had no idea about.

"You," he started, levitating also and suspending in the air. "Youbhvebern my biggest problem since the day you were born," he growled, his eyes turning a blood red which I guessed mirrored mine. I was also seeing red, as his words had hit me harder than I thought thet were going to. "If Clair had not whore around with that dog father of yours, there would have been no you and Dracula would have made me coven master, after I killed your mother! Why did you have to get in the way?!"

I growled at him aggressively. My demon had no liking to his at all and in the moment, she was fighting to come out and devour him. "You never would have been coven master, even if I was not born, Dracula will never leave his coven to a loser like you!"

My taunting was working, because right now I had provoked his demon untill it had shown itself, baring it's wicked teeth at me. I continued with my taunts and soon, I had him charging towards me and I vanished! "Show yourself, you little coward," he yelled while I stood in a corner glaring missiles at him. "I will make sure kill you today, you won't be able to escape me for too long!"

Edwin who had been watching all along, grew even paler than he had been, if that was even possible. "I think I should leave now," he said in a little voice and I face palmed, embarrassed for him at his own cowardice.

"No," Vodos suddenly yelled, flicking his hand towards Edwin. "You! Remain where you are, I will deal with you after I am done with that brat!" I watched in amazement as he moved Edwin into a chair and conjured up a rope that bounded him to it.

A mover... Dracula had told me that that was Vodos's talent. He said I could also move things, if I let the ability manifest in me.

Once again, Dracula had been right. He told me he knew Vodos well enough and all I had to do was taunt him and make him do all of my wishes. The plan was working perfectly, that was untill I sensed Marcus had arrived and was outside.

Vodos should have sensed his presence too, because he gave devilish grin. "Oh... look who has arrived!" He then turned to Edwin. "This is your chance to end him and after you do that, I will decide what to do with you," he said calmly. "No," Edwin growled. "That was never the deal! We both wanted her dead and you agreed to help me! Why kill Marcus? Why threaten me?!"

Vodos's body shook, as a loud chuckle rumbled out of him. "You really are a funny one, are you not?" He looked ate cautiously, then turned his back and floated over to where Edwin was ti d down to a chair.

Not waiting to listen to whatever last minute 'best friend talks' they had to say to each other, I teleported and landed outside. I saw the swirling barrier Jason had created and went through, bumping into him.

"Really Chloe?!" He then huffed, looking down at Marcus's body distastefully. "He got here faster than I thought he would, now I have to bear the burden of looking after his arse! Why the hell are you in love with him again?"

I gave him a warning glare. "Take him to my room in the cave and tell Dracula to keep him safe or else, he would have to deal with me!"

He muttered something along the lines of him wishing that Marcus be eaten and sucked dry.

"If I see even a scratch on my husband, I'll have your head," I snapped. I hoped that he took my threats seriously, because I wasn't even joking with him!

I went back into the house, just as Vodos turned back to glare at me. He eyed me suspiciously and I tried to keep an okay face. Once I felt Marcus's presence leave the vicinity, I took a deep breath of relief, knowing that I could do whatever I wanted and he wouldn't get affected in the least.

"Now... back to you," he hissed, eyes narrowing into tiny slits. "Go and join your father in whatever hell he is and as for your mother..." he paused, a sinister smirk plastered on his face. "I will make sure to send her to join the immortals above and for the disgraceful life she lived, maybe she would have the place of a maid?"

"Very big dreams you have, Vodos," I retorted. I tried not to roll my eyes at his threats. He was a mad demon who had the illusion that he would ever be worthy enough to take over the throne. Not like I cared for their stupid throne, but that was rightfully my mother's and if there was anyone to take over, it should be one of us, her children. "Before you think about taking that throne, I will rip you apart and feed your pieces to the wolves!" I dared to go close up to him and soon, I was staring him right in the face. I saw that he was a little taken aback by my boldness, but did not give much away to show his surprise, than a slightly raised eyebrow.

"You really have a lot going on in that little of yours, don't you?"

"Maybe," I replied, after pretending to be deep in thoughts for a while. "But at least, I'm living in the real while you keep dreaming and forgetting that the world out here is unforgiving! I will make you you pay for all your wickedness and evil," I said.

He was silent for a while, just staring at me like he was trying to figure me out. "What are you planning?" he asked, his voice dripping with caution as he looked around him like he would find some trap I had set for him in a corner. "You seem to confident not to know what you are doing..."

Smart one.

If not for anything, I would give it to Vodos that he was a smart one and since getting married to my mother made him royalty, he was now stronger than most regular vampires and the intimidating demeanor he always had, should have added to the reason why I had been so scared of him earlier. But now I knew for sure that he had nothing on me... I did not feel like waiting on the Dracula any longer before I acted, so I started to conjure up the invisible chains. "Dont," Angelo whispered in my ears. "It is too dangerous, do not underrate Vodos," he warned.

I huffed, wondering what was taking the Dracula so long. He had prosed that once Vodos had been cornered, he was going to come over and take him. But it's been over five minutes and he still was yet to show himself.

As if on cue, the door behind me was pushed open and on walked my long expected grandfather. Vodos gasped, immediately falling to the ground. He staggered backwards, his face pale as he stared into the cold, unforgiving eyes of the Dracula.

"Well," Dracula made a gesture with his hands towards Vodos. "Who do we have here and what are you doing here?"

"Um... Drac? I...," the stuttering continued and who knew that high and mighty Vodos, could tremble so much in front of anyone? "I... I-"

"Oh shut up," Jason muttered, walking in through the door, with my husband suspended in the air. "You do not have anything to say," he snapped.

"Jason?" Vodos called out in shock. Angelo made himself visible and his father gasped again when he told him that he deserved everything that was coming to him. "Hey! You do not talk to me like that, Angelo!"

My eyes were on Marcus the whole time, and I only relaxed, when I heard the steady beating of his heart. Jason lowered him into a chair and as I wanted to go to him, Dracula's arm shot out and blocked my path. "Do not get distracted, finish what you are doing here before going to him."

I nodded, conjuring up the chains and they caught Vodos by the neck, wrists and ankles, just as I had directed them. He looked surprised that I did that and then, his face hardened. The chains began to clatter and I watched with shock as he moved the chains apart and they fell to the ground. But before I could react, Dracula had but him in stronger ones and as he tried to move, the chains burned into his skin and he gave out a loud scream...
