Alpha's Little Vampire Mate -
Chapter 107
Narrator's
POV:
Dracula's cave: He kept pulling violently against the strong chains that bounded him. His bloodied head was bent low and everytime the guards rammed their unforgiving whips into his back, he screamed painfully and it resonated throughout the cave.
His sons stood by the side, Angelo looking emotionless while Jason rather looked bored. They both saw no need to pity their father or feel sorry for him, as he had been the genesis of every little problem that led to their mother's death. In fact, they were in a hurry to see him decapitated and burned to ashes!
"Enough!"
Suddenly, the beatings ceased and he groaned in pain. His name was called and he raised his eyes up to meet the cold ones of the coven master. He growled, the feeling of defeat clawing at his inflated ego. "Damn you," he muttered. Dracula gave out an evil chuckle, his lips turned up in a smirk. "You are the damned one, that we all know." He made a gesture of everyone present in the torture room. "You are the evil that has been within us for too long now, and it is time that we let you go... to where you truly belong!"
The Dracula rose, lifting his hand up and began to mutter some incoherent words that sounded like an incantation. After a few more minutes of doing whatever he was, a little knife appear in his right hand and in his left, appeared a little gourd.
Everyone in the room gasped and Vodos began trembling with fear as the Dracula descended from his place on the ancient throne and came towards him. He was going to perform a ritual which was really rare and the last of its kind should have occured over two millenniums (two thousand years) ago.
It was the type of ritual; where the soul of the condemned is removed and used to bring back to life the body of another vampire who is battling somewhere in between life and death. So what the Dracula was about to do, was to take Vodos' soul and he would go into inexistence and never be remembered as one who once lived in the realm.
But that was not the problem with why everyone was trembling. The problem was that; to perform the ritual, another soul had to be sacrificed to extract the soul.
"W... what are you doing?!"
He came to stop in front of Vodos' trembling body, his fear giving delight to the Dracula. "It is truly funny how terrified; wicked people can be on death," he said in a mocking tone of voice. "You have misused the life that was gifted to you my the greater one above, and now it shall be taken from you by it's authority!"
"Don't!" Vodos said in a trembling voice as Dracula raised the knife up in the air. "Are you doing this restore your daugh-"
Everyone groaned as his sentence was not completed before the knife came down on his chest and blood splashed all over. Vodos'eyes widened and he stared up at the Dracula with scared eyes before he dropped to the ground. Everyone remained still as the Dracula looked around the room, his eyes not lasting long on his grandkids like they had done on the rest. It happened so suddenly before anyone could realize, one of the guards by the door, dropped to the ground with a loud thud. "Everyone, bow!"
They all fell on their knees, closing their eyes as they had all heard about what next was going to happen. The room started to spin and a strong wind came into the room, accompanied by what looked to be a beautiful woman with thick black and straight hair flowing all the way down to the back of her feet. She wore a long white dress which accentuated h r lean figure, with an angelic face but fearful eyes. Her pupils looked dilated and completely black all the time, and as legends had had it, anyone who dared to look into her eyes, will see his death!
She was Hohror, the chief demon in charge of every vampires life and death. She watched all the kneeling forms in the room and the dead ones on the floor, then asked in a calm but terrifying voice; who had called for her.
The Dracula dared to open his eyes and stepped forward, holding the cup up to her. He said he had performed the ritual and he was in need of the soul of Vodos as he was going to give it to a vampire more worthy of it.
She smirk knowingly, like she was in on a little secret of his, that the rest did not know about. She nodded, flicking her hand towards the dead guard and his body vanished. She then moved around the Dracula and went over to were Vodos laid bleeding, on the ground. She spat over his body, a sign to show that he had not lived a life worthy of her glory. With hand stretched out over him, she said a few incantations and his beating heart rose out of his chest, glittering with the silver it was made of.
She grabbed a hold of the shining organ which looked like more of a precious stone and dropped it into the Dracula's waiting cup. Then she caressed his head when he bowed to kiss her feet before walking away from him.
He continued muttering her praises, saying his thanks over and over, untill the wind took her away again. By the time he got up and commanded the others to do same, she was long gone; along side the body of Vodos, the loose chains laying uselessly on the cold ground.
"What was that about?!" Jason was the one to ask, always the impatient one. He looked at his grandfather with wide, angry eyes, then down at the cup which he kept clutching tightly. "Why could you not let him just die like he would? What was the need of taking his soul, when you have no use for it?!"
Dracula ignored him, sending everyone out o the room but his grandsons remained. He raised a brow at them, a muscle twitching in his cheek as a sign of displeasure at their sheer disobedience. "Did you both not hear what I said? Get the hell out of here," he hissed.
"Not until you tell us what you intend to do with that heart," Jason argued stubbornly.
"I do not see how any of these is your busy," Dracula spat, giving each man a dirty glare. He was getting frustrated by them all. Day in, day out; they would always look for a new excuse to bug him and he wondered if perhaps; it was time to throw them out of the coven. "Go find something else to do and stop bothering me," he snapped.
Angelo scoffed, speaking up this time. "Do you think that because you helped save our sister, now makes us trust you blindly?" His eyes narrowed, marching the Dracula's own narrowed eyes. "I know you are up to something, Drac! You are too selfish to think of anyone else but yourself!"
"That's enough! Get out!"
Both men remained standing where they were, glaring daggers at their grandfather. Nothinf could put their minds at ease, as they knew their grandfather well enough to know that he was always planning one sort of evil or the other. "Did you both not hear what I said!" He yelled again. "Out with you two! Get. Lost!"
Angelo gave him one last glare and turned around, walking away from him. Jason; being the more stubborn one; was hesitant to leave I. But after a couple of glares and dirty looks, he turned around and followed his brother out of the room. "Phew!" Dracula sighed, after he was sure that they had left. He waved his hand in empty hair and magically, a door appeared he went in through it, and the magical door vanished and the room returned back to how it had been a while ago. Back at Alpha Marcus's and Luna Chloe's royal house: Chloe sat in one of the sofas, sipping on a large bag of blood, which happened to be her forty seventh bag she had had since she awoke.
Her husband sat in the couch opposite of her, watching her with bewildered eyes as she kept sipping with so much appetite that he would have been tempted to join her, if he did not know what was in there. "Are you sure you would not like to have anything else?" He asked.
"No," she hurriedly replied, then paused with her finger on her chin, as she looked to be deep in thoughts. "Maybe... more blood could do?"
"Anything other than blood," her husband replied in a calm tone of voice, meanwhile he was in almost running mad with anger because he was becoming fed up with the fact that she had refused to eat anything. "Food or fruits of some kind, can you not think of anything else?"
She looked up at him with puppy dog eyes, his anger instantly vanished. "Just more blood, please," she added with a cute pout forming on her lips.
He was silent for a long time, and his wife had already started to think he would never give her the reply she wanted to hear the most, when he growled out: "Fine," his voice coming off like he had mistakenly downed a full jug of vinegar. "You just wait and I will get it for you," he said, trying to force a smile unto his face.
She smiled to herself, humming softly to herself as she enjoyed her food. She was interrupted when she heard voices from the kitchen and went over to see what was keeping Marcus so long to get back to me. Who had come into the house that she had not known?
"You are not allowed to bathe into my town, then into my house and demand to see my wife whenever you both like!" Marcus yelled, his loud voice from the kitchen reached his wife's ears and she increased her steps. "I want you both to leave my lands and be gone forever! I do not know what you all have turned my woman into and now, she had become a blood sucking machine!"
"What?!" She gasped, and all the men in the room turned to meet her angry and red face. "How dare you say that to me?" She growled, walking towards Marcus and shoving him in the chest. "I am just fine the way I am, and I don't not care if you like it, or not!"
Jason scoffed, shifting her attention back to him and Angelo.
"And you two," she snapped. "What are you both doing here?"
"We can to talk to you about something very important..." Angelo replied coolly. His eyes flickered to a Marcus who was already shooting him a hard death glare. "... in private."
Chloe blinked, her eyes flickering over to her husband's glaring face the back to her brothers. Forgetting the fact that she was still mad at him, she grabbed his hand and pulled him closer to her. "That is not happening!" "But this is a family matter," Jason tried to reason with her.
"And Marcus and I are one! Whatever you can not say in front of him, do not bother yourself by telling me, because I do not think I am so interested to hear it," she said, struggling not to blush as she felt his intense gaze on her. "You can both find your way out of my house, or do I have to lead you out? Rubbish!"
Giving Marcus one last unappreciative glare, Angelo gave in and started to recount every little detail of all they had experience earlier and also told her about their suspicions. They could tell that Dracula was up to something and the trio knew him well enough by now, to know that he was never up to something good!
