Marcus's POV:

"Really?" I groaned, starting to feel dizzy with watching Chloe pacing in front of me for the last hour, since her half brothers left. "Just when I thought we had closed the chapter with that creepy grandfather of yours, he really had to stir up another problem, did he not?"

She gave me a look that said more than a thousand words and I knew I had to keep my mouth shut, if I still liked my tongue. She kept pacing, her finger on her chin as she looked to be thinking about something very important. Anyway, what did they say about every disappointment being a blessing in disguise? It felt good that she had suddenly lost her appetite as she claimed, and had also taken a break from the in take of blood. It was getting out of hand and I felt like she had to get consulted soon so I could be sure if my suspicions were correct!

"That's it!" She suddenly yelled, startling me out of my thoughts. Her eyes were wide with realization swirling in them, and she looked like she had just solved the world's biggest puzzle. "How did I not think of this, all of the signs were there!" "Um..." I started hesitantly, not knowing the right questions to ask her. "Would you mind putting me in the know of what you are speaking of?"

Well, what do you know? I was ignored!

She ran up the stairs with vampire speed and I followed, using the same fast speed I had gotten from her through the mating process. She was already in the closet by the time I got in, scattering through a bag of clothes and it bothered me greatly that she could not take one of the clothes that were hanging on the hangar.

"Found it!" She yelled, holding up a pair of blue... were those underwears? She nodded to herself, a little chuckle escaping her lips. "I knew it!" she raised her fist and bumped it into the air..."I knew it!"

"Knew what?" I asked, feeling like the biggest fool of the century when she gave me a side look and then took her eyes back to the... object of great importance, I guess with the way she was handling it. "Never mind," I muttered, walking out of the closet. And to tell how disappointed I was, when she did not come after me.

I went back downstairs to look for something to eat, not being able to take care of myself as my wife had kept me on my toes all day. Since I had dismissed the servants for the time being, as I thought it absurd for them to see my wife sipping blood with straw and I did not want a repeat of what happened the other time. I helped myself to a plate of chicken sandwich and a big cup of tea. "Marcus!"

I was just halfway through my food, he she came into the leaving room and dropped a peck on my cheek. I raked her body withe gaze, not helping getting hard at how sexy she looked in her leather pants and top. She had her whit hair up in a bun and her green eyes sparkled with fondness as she stared at me.

"Where are you going all dressed up like this?"

She sighed, dropping into the space beside me. She stared down at the half eaten sandwich in my hand and I offered her some, raising it to her lips. She hesitated, then took a bite. She chewed slowly, like she was being scared not to break her molars from chewing too hard. "It tastes good," she finally said.

I rolled my eyes, a little smile sneaking to my lips. At least, now I knew something else she could try and eat other than taking blood for all three square meals a day! I asked again: "where are you going?"

"The cave," she replied, digging her hand into the side pocket of her leather trousers. She pulled out the object from earlier and that was when I saw that it was not a pair of panties like I had thought, it was a head band. "I found this in the cave when I spent a few days there, I want to confirm if my suspicions are true.

My mood fell and I was sure that my face did too. I did not like her disturbing her body so much, when her possible condition required of lost of resting from her. What if something happened and she got hit so hard that it could create some sort of internal damage?

"Hey," she did, putting on a brave face. "I will be fine. Before I forget; I came to talk to you. You know I am still mad at you about the Cara stuff right?"

I nodded.

"And I would not like to leave still on bad terms with you. I want you to explain to me, why you treated me that way. Why did you jump on it that I was the one who murdered Cara?"

I opened my mouth to speak, but it clamped shut again.

"Go on," she chided. "Speak up! I'm listening!"

I cleared my throat, meeting her eyes so she could see all of my sincerity. I decided not to lie to her, to tell her how I felt that day. "You know Cara and I have a past right?" "Mhm hmm," she replied with a nod of her head.

"And I was told that you got to know about her. She has been through a lot and no matter how I love you, I still feel pity for her. She would have just been alive for her grandmother and the rest of us who cared about her, that is it." I paused to see if my words were affecting her in any way. "When I thought you had killed her, the guilt was eating me up alive and that was why I was so angry at you. I thought you of all people should have known better to let her be as she had promised to stay out of our relationship. She could be a trouble maker at times, but she was not that much of a bad person as she tried to make you and everyone around her think, all she needed was someone who could understand and not judge her."

Chloe listened with rapt attention and after I was done talking, she sighed, pulling me into her arms and gave me a big hug. She held me that way for a long period of time and I hugged her back. We sat there until it was time to leave... I walked her over to the door, giving her a big kiss and asking that she be careful. I smiled as she screamed, leaping into the air and vanishing. Her playful nature always reminded me how much of a child she still was, even when she tried to act older than her age.

I went back into the house, getting ready to step out. Since my wife was out and probably very busy, I had nothing to do and it had been a while since I visited the hospital. I thought to check up on Lima and also see how my wife's aunty was doing.

Had a quick shower and put on some simple clothes, then was out on my way. I had just walked out of the gate, when Lily approached me with a big sack in her hands. I got a whiff of blood smell and I knew she had come to deliver those for a Chloe. Since they had both started getting along, I thought she would have no problem keeping them in the refrigerator and she agreed to.

I let her in, while I took the opposite way, heading towards where the hospital was situated. I hoped for some good news with Lima and maybe... with Chloe aunt. I was not a huge fan of hers and I would never be, might I add that she being her with us gave me the chills. There was just something about her that I could not put my hands on.

"Look who is awake!"

Lima turned over unto his back and smiled up at me. "Alpha," he muttered. "Glad that you have not forsaken me too, good to see you," he said, though his voice was hoarse and unclear.

I said nothing, knowing it was not the right time to be judgemental and start putting blames on him. We had a long talk to have and that could wait. I was most happy that he had defeated death and had come back alive and well.

I suddenly remembered the lady in the other room. When I had gone to the doctor a few minutes back, he had told me that Lima had woken up for almost a day now, but Chloe's aunt was still unresponsive to treatment. It was really a terrible thing to say, but I did hope she was going to die and be gone forever!

"Lima?" He raised a brow, taking his eyes back to me. I rose to my feet, knowing that it was only well mannered of I went to check up on her. At least, I would be doing that for Chloe's sake. "You. would have to excuse me for a moment, I will be back!"

I walked away before hearing his response. When I reached the door to the room where she had been placed for her to attain her health back, I knocked on the door. Just as I had expected, I got no reply back. I turned the door knob and the door cracked open. I took a peek of the inside, then I pushed the door farther apart and stepped in before closing it again.

There she was, lying so peacefully in the bed. She was still wearing the clothes she had worn on the day we brought her here, but if I could remember clearly; I thought she had been changed and dressed in something else; like the patient's gown.

I helped myself into a chair that was by her bedside, watching her face to see if I would notice any sign of movement. She did not even as much as batted and eye lid! Was there any hope for her? I did not know... but I hoped not. The door opened and I craned my neck just in time to see Titus walk in through the door with a bunch of flowers in his hand. I passed him a knowing smirk, rose from the chair and gave him a pat on the back before heading out. Just in case she survived, It seemed that that would be a good thing for Titus.

Immediately I entered Lima's room, he sat up, startling me a little. "What is wro-" I started to ask but stopped short, when he raised a finger and placed it on his lips, signaling for me to keep quiet.

I gave him cautious look, walking back to sit on the chair beside him. He looked at me with a serious look plastered on his face, then his voice sounded in my head.

The lady in the other room, who is she?

Was he talking about Chloe's aunty? Which lady are you talking about?

The one with the red hair, he replied.

Okay, that was definitely Chloe's aunty. He had been unconscious when she was brought in and she was still yet to recover. What were the odds that he might have gotten a chance to see her? I eyed him suspiciously. And how do you know her?

She has been frequenting my room.

Umm... I guess I am not the only one who was left shocked by his revelation. How could she... that only meant that she was...

Awake, I heard Lima's voice, as if he had read my thoughts and could sense the battle that was going on inside of me. She has been awake the whole time, I think she is looking for something... I do not trust her!
