Chloe's POV:

She narrated how my dad was murdered by his brother and after Dracula was sure that he had gotten rid of my father; he tried to take my mother away from the war but my father's siblings refused and insisted that my mother must also be killed as that was what they had all agreed to do. If you knew Dracula well enough, he liked to play dirty. So he kill my uncle and was going to kill my aunt but she escaped. A few members of their pack also escaped, while my grandfather single handedly killed the rest of them!

My mother could not bear it and she knew that if she did not die, they would be war between the two packs and that was what she wanted to avoid. So against my grandfather's wish; she grabbed a knife from him and slitted her throat. She knew he always carried poisoned blades and she hoped that the poison was going to kill her before he had a chance to save her. She was confident that my brothers will take good care of me, untill I found myself a mate who would make me his whole world.

Dracula had still taken her and preserved her body with a kind of strange magic, that was only common amongst very powerful vampires. Her soul had no rest and it kept wandering, trying to invade my dreams as it had no idea where I was. Then, after he got the souls of Vodos and the other guard, he gave it in exchange for my mother's soul to return to her body. He had planned to use her in blackmailing us into putting down our lives for him. He was going to use her to threaten us!

She was going to murder herself, as she had no idea how to live again but after she had seen me in that secret hallway, she had refound her purpose. She told I and my brothers that we had to look for a way to kill the Dracula. He had to be our of the way; else I will know no peace.

We had random conversations for a while and catching up. She was pleased that Jason and I were at least talking to each other, and that he had not attempted to kill me yet. She also expressed her love for us all and told my brothers to go back and if they were asked about her, they could just deny ever seeing her.

"Chloe, I wanna ask you something..."

I nodded, turning away from my brothers' retrieving forms. She had been acting a little funny and giving me funny smiles all day. "I thought you would never ask, what is on your mind?" "That werewolf husband of yours, how active in bed is he?"

My ears burned, my whole face flaming up. "Mommy!" She had had the nerve to chuckle. "I am not about to discuss my bedroom affairs with you, no way!"

She pretended to gasp, her eyes widening a bit in mock surprise. "Who is this woman here in front of me? I demand you tell me who you are and what happened to my little baby?!"

I threw my head back, laughing heartily at her attempt of a joke. "I had to grow up, no mommy or daddy to take care of me, so I figured that I had to to do it myself!"

"And do you know you could have a baby?"

Umm... I actually had not thought of that, at all! "Lily had told me something of the sort, but I had not really thought of it. Maybe I'm just not ready yet?" I asked, sounding unsure with myself. Ready or not, I would not mind my stomach swelling with Marcus's child in it.

Mother's eyes flickered over to my stomach, something I noticed that she had been doing frequently in the last three hours or so. She then gave me a sweet smile, her hand coming to grab mine. "That Lily friend of yours, I will like to meet her..."

She should have seen the hesitation on my face, because she quickly added:

"That is only if you don't mind!"

"I mind," I quickly replied. "Everyone thinks you are dead, I can not make them feel I had lied to them, and not everyone will believe the story about exchanging of souls. I would like to talk to my husband about it first, then you can move in with us..."

"No no," she disagreed, shaking head. I tried to talk to her, but she raised a finger up, silencing me. "I will not be staying. Once we have killed father, I will take my own life and go meet your father... he'll be so lonely with me," she muttered, her eyes turning glassy.

My heart dropped into the pit of my stomach, going to stir up some irritation and the nausea returned. "What do you mean by you will take your life?!"

She gave me a stern look. "Look here, young lady, behave yourself," she snapped. "Was I not dead to you already? It's only natural that it remains that way," she tried to reason.

I started to cry and plead with her not to leave. Once my grandfather was out of the way; we could all be like a normal and happy family. I convinced her to follow me home, promising that my husband was out and she did but then... we walked right into him.

*

I stared directly at Marcus's face, to see his reaction after hearing what I had to say. He did not give anything away, his face remained bare of any emotions and all he said was; we had to prepare for war and be fully ready because Dracula was going to strike anytime soon!

I excused myself, taking my mother along with me and took her into one of the bedrooms on the top floor. She cleaned up the whole place with vampire speed, even before I could help. I just stood back with a smile on my face, as she fell back on the bed, flipping her eyes shut.

"Can you stop staring so much?" she teased, a little smile on her face. "Go spend some time with your husband, I will like to catch some sleep!"

I did as I was told, finding my way back down to where Marcus had been. Only, he was no longer sitting in the living room. I traced his scent all the way to the back of the house, and I halted to watch him as he rounded the house, his eyes searching like he was looking for something that only him had an idea about.

I knew he could perceive me, hell! He must have seen me but still acted like he hadn't the slightest idea that he had company. I scoffed, following silently behind him, as I glared at the back of his head.

"Legends have it," he started to say suddenly, startling me out of my thoughts. "That people who walk and their footstep are not heard, are dangerous people." He turned to give me a teasing smirk. "I wander if my wife is a bad person?" I rolled my eyes at his attempt of a joke, that I did not find funny at all! "Are see you were trying to ignore me," I stated dryly. "What suddenly changed your mind?"

He huffed, turning his back to me and still saying nothing to me. He dipped his hands into his trousers pockets, the upper part of his body stretching instantly. "I just have a bad feeling... something is not right," he said.

"Is this because of my grandfather?"

He gave me a look. "Him too, but..." he trailed off, givng me a look that made my heart drop into the pit of my stomach. "I am more worried about your aunty."

My face scrunched up in confusion. "Aunt Chloe? What about her?"

"She is awake," he replied. And just as I wanted to say something; he proceeded. "For over a week now, but she's been pretending to still be unconscious. She is definitely up to something!"

I sighed, when I realized what he was trying to do. "Just because you do not approve of my aunt, does not mean you have to bring up some flimsy excuse to get rid of her!"

"Shut up!".

I was taken aback by his sudden outburst. I searched his face to see that he looked just as serious as he had sounded.

"I do not like it, when I am saying something important and you wave it off as nothing! She can not be awake and still pretend and you want me to take that granted?"

He was speaking the truth.

That now left me in confusion. Why would she do that? With the way she had strategically lured me into her lands to kill her husband, was prove enough that she was smart and crafty! But I almost had thought that she was on our side... "I think she is looking for something," he said suggestively. "Something of yours? Or some kind of thing belonging to your father's?"

"No," I disagreed, making him eye me skeptically. "She could be waiting for someone rather..."

"Pray tell, how do you know that for sure?"

"I know..." Was my simple reply before I added. "She would have asked, fit was just something she was looking for. Obviously; she is in need of more than something or she would not remain trapped in a hospital bed!"

The thought of me remaining trapped in a hospital bed; made me shudder. How I hated to walk about, how again did she do that without passing out from all of that boredom?

"I think you should get some rest-"

I did not let him finish that preposterous sentence at all! "I think I should check up on my sick aunt," I retorted immediately. I went to go past him but one firm arm shot out and grabbed me, pulling me into an even more firmer body. Umm... "Don't go," he bent to whisper in my ear, sucking my earlobe into his mouth. "You could get a thorough massage, a warm bath and an evening filled with intense pleasure..."

I considered the offer as my eyes fluttered shut when his lips traced the veins on my neck. It really was a tempting offer but I had to think logically! I could not let myself be carried away by a little temptation, could I?

I moved out of his arms. "Sorry dearest husband, you can keep your offer to yourself! I'm going," I stated in a firm voice, giving him a stubborn face. He tried to move in front of me but I only smiled and vanished before he could realize what I intended to do. I went back upstairs to my mother and told her I would be leaving for a moment and that she could ask my husband for anything and if she needed any blood; she could find some of those downstairs.

She asked where I was going, but I ignored her, having a bad feeling that would not be very pleased, if she found out that I had her sister in-law kept here with me. With what I had gathered; I do not think they had ever been the best of friends, even when aunt Chloe had tried to put it lightly. My mother did not have an ounce of likeness in her for the she-wolf, and she claimed it was same for Chloe. She had she also never liked the fact that my father named me after aunt Chloe, now how do someone tell that kind of person the place I was leaving to?"

I invisibly made my way down the stairs, walking past Marcus who stood at the front door, looking towards the direction he thought I had gone through. I touched him lightly and I knew he felt the cold breeze of my touch because he turned in my direction; just before I teleported away and boom! I was right at the back of the hospital and guess who I saw through the window beside me? Aunty Chloe.

And what she was doing, left me in shock!"
